Hush The Warmth by Gorky's. Which reminds me....both Euros Childs and Richard James are out on the patio with their solo stuff next month, if anyone's interested.
I've never heard that 'My Own Private Patrick Swayze', but it sound like a laugh. It must surely contain the line: 'No one puts Baby in a corner'....*swoon*.

Another Fall choice: Shake Off
Among the lists up to 1998 this includes by far the most songs I've never heard.

The Fall - 'Shake Off'
Pulp - 'This Is Hardcore'
PJ Harvey - 'Is This Desire'
nothing to add, after 1997 another not very spectacular year/list!

Ten Benson gets my vote.
Apart from ' i dont buy that' this is their best offering

B&S Sleep the Clock Around for me. I'm glad Pull the Wires From the Wall won it, though, cos it's a lovely song.
Apart from a brief dip in the late eighties/early nineties, I'm not getting this declining quality vibe that a lot of you seem to be voicing. The nineties obviously weren't as bad as I usually tend to think they were.

Some great tracks on this list I could have voted for 10 easily but in the end it was between Plock by Plone and I Need A Sign from EP2 by Badly Drawn Boy.
In the end, I went for Plone.
The Plone album is great too
