the_shrander - December 20, 2005 05:04 PM (GMT)
Let's make it easy to start with.

Snaresbrook.

Davey B - December 20, 2005 07:02 PM (GMT)
North Circular Road. :)

the_shrander - December 21, 2005 08:05 AM (GMT)
Ah, the Tarkovsky Gambit. Well then...

Theydon Bois.

Theydon Bois.

I'll see your Theydon Bois and raise you Dollis Hill, putting you in knip, I believe...

the_shrander - December 21, 2005 08:53 AM (GMT)
I was *so* hoping we'd get through at least the first game without the Dollis Hill loop. No matter.

Since I am now in Knip I invoke Scruttock's Law and cancel out the Dollis Hill loop. So there.

West India Quay.

Bah - that was a ridiculously obvious way to get out of the loop - the possibility of invoking Struttock didn't even cross my mind. Must try harder next time. <_<

West India Quay -> Neasden, adding a green token to all requisite diagonals.

the_shrander - December 21, 2005 10:08 AM (GMT)
Serious, eh? Well in that case:

Maida Vale.

Erkton - December 21, 2005 10:42 AM (GMT)

Maida Vale.

Can you play that if you're still in Knip?

the_shrander - December 21, 2005 11:04 AM (GMT)
Wednesday before Christmas, mate. Thought you'd have known that.

Still your go.

Hmmm... that doesn't appear in my version of the rulebook... but then again, I've only got Symes 1973 and haven't had the opportunity to get any of the amendments since then.

I'll take your word for this one, but I'd appreciate proof at some point.

Maida Vale --> Liverpool Street.

altfish - December 21, 2005 11:20 AM (GMT)
Dane Road

Shit that's on the Manchester Metrolink

the_shrander - December 21, 2005 11:29 AM (GMT)
Northern Rules? That's nice. Very nice. But you aren't in Knid so disallowed.

I'm sticking a peg in Wembley Park and catapulting (by gravity) out to Northwood.

max - December 21, 2005 11:41 AM (GMT)
I don't want to sound stupid, but unfortunately, I am.

give us a clue guys. what are the rules to this?

the_shrander - December 21, 2005 12:03 PM (GMT)
It would take too long to explain - try and pick it up as we go.

SteveHamilton - December 21, 2005 12:56 PM (GMT)
Or read this instead.

max - December 21, 2005 01:38 PM (GMT)
Thanks fellas, much clearer now :)

New cross gate

I've had a quick glance at Lord Bermondseys' 27th amendment clause vi
to the original regulations. I believe you'll find that this places Northwood in a vacuum with all occupants unable to move :D

the_shrander - December 21, 2005 01:43 PM (GMT)
Not bad for a newbie. But I think you'll find

Shadwell

blocks that one rather nicely. Next!

max - December 21, 2005 02:08 PM (GMT)
Shadwell!

I'd missed that, being a bit green at this :o

I have no option but to play the Lawtonian variation to Bank

the_shrander - December 21, 2005 02:24 PM (GMT)
Can he do that?

Acton High Street - December 21, 2005 02:32 PM (GMT)
He can, but as I'm switching to the North London Line at West Hampstead, it hardly matters, does it?

the_shrander - December 21, 2005 02:35 PM (GMT)
Which very aptly allows me to play

Acton Town

Acton High Street - December 21, 2005 02:39 PM (GMT)
You do know what you're doing, right?

You play Acton Town, I raise Gunnersbury wild, thus allowing the next player to get to...

pomfob - December 21, 2005 02:52 PM (GMT)
Canada Water?

Well, that's what happened to me when I tried playing Nick Cave at this. He's a past master, you know.

Acton High Street - December 21, 2005 02:56 PM (GMT)
Ah, but if we are going to play the Melbourne Gothic variant, we might as well go home now.

the_shrander - December 21, 2005 03:06 PM (GMT)

Cockfosters via Mudchute seems appropriate.

pomfob - December 21, 2005 03:06 PM (GMT)
Sorry, that's just the way I learnt it.

Where were we? Can I throw down Totteridge and Whetstone without fear of a Welshman's riposte?

Same to you :D

Baz - December 21, 2005 03:07 PM (GMT)
Moscow Road. (With eyes open wide, no less).

the_shrander - December 21, 2005 03:16 PM (GMT)
Did someone say Old Kent Road? I don't think so.

Erkton - December 21, 2005 03:23 PM (GMT)
Aldgate East, putting Central Line stations out of bounds until Blyth's Ratio becomes positive.

the_shrander - December 21, 2005 03:34 PM (GMT)
*ahem* Arsenal.

Erkton - December 21, 2005 03:42 PM (GMT)

:o Crikey! That's put the cat amongst the pigeons somewhat...

Will have to consider this for a bit...

pomfob - December 21, 2005 04:00 PM (GMT)
I say Liverpool Street to you sir. Now let that be an end to it.

chris.southon - December 21, 2005 04:03 PM (GMT)
Poultry

Jean-Baptiste Clamence - December 21, 2005 04:04 PM (GMT)
Is it just me who hasn't got a fucking clue what you lot are talking about?

Jean-Baptiste Clamence - December 21, 2005 04:06 PM (GMT)
Didn't mean that to sound rude. I'd love to be enlightened!

the_shrander - December 21, 2005 04:22 PM (GMT)
Psst: there's a link to the rules above. It will certainly help you to start with.

One_Libran - December 21, 2005 05:11 PM (GMT)
Elephant and Castle via Dun Laoghaire (before anyone asks see Anglo-Irish Summit 1974)

Davey B - December 21, 2005 07:44 PM (GMT)
Wood Green High Street B)

the_shrander - December 21, 2005 08:05 PM (GMT)
