Nice! Bit pricey mind..
Philonski - October 3, 2003 02:14 PM (GMT)
I would, but I can't play.
shed_jish - October 4, 2003 10:51 AM (GMT)
classy! i already have three air guitars, a three-quarter sized one i learnt on, an electric and my ma's old one that she gave to me.
did anyone see the promo photos of silver sun? there were two of them, my friend matt got one, and i got the other. i'll put up copies when they arrive.
Bone Idle - October 6, 2003 08:36 PM (GMT)
I've got a set of air drums - if anyone's got a bass we could form a band!
Damian - October 6, 2003 10:44 PM (GMT)
I had a set of air drumsticks (I play the air and actual versions), but I've never actually had my own kit (air or otherwise). But now I HAVE A REAL DRUMSTICK! See another thread somewhere else where I get slightly excited about the fact, because it's no ordinary drumstick...
Bone Idle - October 6, 2003 10:59 PM (GMT)
If you can lay your hands on a kit from somewhere (try checking behind the sofa - that's where I found mine) then maybe we can try some Genesis-style percussion duets?

We'd have to warn the neighbours first.
Phil Collins is apparently a decent drummer - if only he'd stayed behind the kit!
shed_jish - October 7, 2003 06:21 PM (GMT)
can i be singer/songwriter? you can all help with both.
i know a girlie named lauren.
she lives in a rabbit warren.
with long fluffy ears and a friend named thumper,
i'm lying, she's not a rabbit at all.

Needs work. You never say she's a rabbit, just that she lives in a warren. So your last line reaffirms the obvious. And do you own an air microphone?
Bone Idle - October 7, 2003 10:00 PM (GMT)
I can sense a lawsuit from Disney on the way, too...
But I want to hear more - who is Lauren? Where has she come from? Where is she going? And why oh why does she live in a rabbit warren?

Steady - too much story background and this could become prog rock...
Philonski - October 8, 2003 09:16 AM (GMT)
Does she travel over sea and land, hunting an elusive prog rock band? Until one day perchance she spies a golden chalice filled with lies? Choking back the salty tears, she finds her bearded hero listens to (drum solo) Britney Spears! From that day hence until today, she runs and runs and runs away, filled with tears and warren-bound, her hate is smothered underground?
That would explain it, certainly.
Alex - October 8, 2003 10:26 AM (GMT)
if u wanna be the next JB those lyrics are nowhere near obscure enough!
i do play real and air guitars. but for the purpose of the band i would love to play air keyboards, i mean if you're prog, i could have a triple stack, rick wakeman style. but the lyrics... need obscurity
where is your maserati? my air one is parked round the back.

That description was nice and prog rock until the last sentence and a half, whereupon it became nu-metal. Throw in some lyrics about how Daddy never cared, buy some air turntables (must be some on eBay) and the meisterwork is complete. You'll need extra pages on the inlay for all these co-writing credits!
And in view of the fact that we're pioneering the nu-metal/prog hybrid movement, if we ever perform it live we'll need both capes and baseball caps. How fetching.

i have air capes for all!
baseball caps not supplied.
Bone Idle - October 8, 2003 07:20 PM (GMT)
I'll be wearing my air trilby instead (it's a fashion thing) but since I'm the drummer I'll be hidden away at the back anyway.
All this talk of Maseratis is a bit premature, surely? Don't we have to work our way up from the bottom, paying our dues as we go?
Alex - October 10, 2003 01:59 PM (GMT)
as the darkness said, without fast cars and mansions it just wouldn't be rock'n'roll. i need my maseratti!
i'm an air rockstar, and u are all welcome to my airtograph (haha)
all this talk of air, im getting lightheaded (geddit?!).
alex
ps. apologies, its been a funny week
shed_jish - October 10, 2003 06:38 PM (GMT)

While you've still got all that nu-metal angst boiling up inside you, perhaps you should go and add another line to the song...
Alex - October 11, 2003 10:02 AM (GMT)
sounds a little bit "emo-core" that focusing pain to create beauty. very american. watch out deftones and glassjaw. hey maybe a support slot for the new-look emo Bizkit is on the way...

And they'll build us up to knock us down.
shed_jish - October 13, 2003 06:26 PM (GMT)
speaking of knocking us down, can one of our members commit suicide? that way we have an excuse to pump out many-an-album all...
"because it's what (shed_jish, philonski, alex, damian, bone idle?) wanted."
sorry if i missed anyone.
Bone Idle - October 13, 2003 07:54 PM (GMT)
We should organise a phone poll so we can make some money out of it...
*adopts Geordie accent* Which member tops themselves? You decide...
shed_jish - October 14, 2003 06:40 PM (GMT)
oh. my non-rabbit "friend" has joined. she's a goth.
say hi to lauren (but... well... hide behind something if you're scared)

I really doubt that my bearded hero, Mr Bill Bailey, listens to Britney Spears.

mmm......Bill......
shed_jish - October 16, 2003 06:44 PM (GMT)
everyone knows bill "troll" bailey listens to britney "troll" spears.

it probably isn't.......but wherever I go, I always seem to have a high-smut input. I apologise in advance
and I have no idea what I'll feed my troll baby :P

I was intrigued, so I Asked Jeeves "what do troll babies eat?" However, he was not particularly useful, by and large suggesting that trolls eat babies, so therefore troll babies would also eat babies. Maybe baby puree?
However, this suggests that trolls eat roots, berries and nuts, and definitely not goats, as those intolerant fairy-tale-tellers would have you believe:
http://www.ppld.org/Kids/SummerReading/SRC...ontents/ac9.aspI'm seeing Bill next Thursday, and since he's part troll he'll probably know. I'll make sure I ask him.
