Title: It's All Gone Quiet Over There!
goodgoon - August 2, 2005 01:00 PM (GMT)
Soooo, anything going on in the world of Silver Sun? Has anyone emailed James recently?
shed_jish - August 2, 2005 01:48 PM (GMT)
i was going to make a similiar post - but i already did in the "a bit more news" thread.
HM. Although in my heart i think everything will get sorted, my pesky brain keeps pointing out that there are supposed to be gigs at the end of this month, the one we've already started, and we've not heard anything even vaguely concrete.
Anyone? news?

i had a bid on that... it was only for sth like £3.00. Good luck getting it!
Hm, i saw a DiS interview which had a possible tracklisting for disappear here, and there were two songs that weren't on it... she's with the band and another one... i wonder what they're like?
same questions IH - especially the TOP TWO! i really, really, wanna get to these gigs as they're in school holidays so i might be able to go to a few of em...
petester - August 2, 2005 04:31 PM (GMT)
I've ordered the album from Japan. It's in the post at the moment.
Philonski - August 2, 2005 05:03 PM (GMT)
I never thought there would come a time in my life when I'd be too busy to buy a new Silver Sun CD! Will order it tonight if I can stay awake long enough.
Alex - August 3, 2005 08:50 PM (GMT)
are there extra tracks on it? im so out of touch. it feels like i've not been on here for ages, and i return hoping ive missed loads. though it would appear i havent. which is kinda good, at least im not out of the loop (though thats debatable....)
must get Dh from japan it would seem. i lost the first album with the extra tracks on ebay not long ago by 50p or something. gutted.

Two newies - a re-recording of "Why So Blue", and "Lie Back & Think of England" from the Bubblegum single. Incorporated into the tracklisting rather than bunged at the end.
Philonski - August 4, 2005 08:46 AM (GMT)
Mine's in the post... pity they're not new-new songs, but still.
Listened to 'Click' and 'Built In A Day' this morning for the first time in ages - amazing how SS can move you from comatose to chirpy in 3 minutes.
petester - August 4, 2005 08:56 AM (GMT)
Why So Blue is fantastic. A little slower than the bootlegs, better harmonies, and the guitars are really rocking!
Delivery took just 6 days!
theinvertednewt - August 8, 2005 07:35 PM (GMT)
Yeah, thats me! I didnt win but never mind. Im sure it went to a good home. I'll order it off the japanese site at some point; a 'friend' of mine borrowed the copy I brought at the Camden gig and then promptly lost it. Ho Hum...When are SS gonna play in Brighton??

Was talking to James Broad on MSN. Gigs in October. So, yeah.
petester - August 12, 2005 11:31 AM (GMT)
The Invisible Hands website says that they're filming the video for Immediate.

Bit of a tour of some student venues then? October suits me - September is a bit mental, and I'd be rather distressed if I couldn't get to any of the dates.

i have seen the video and i believe....

ooh! where? is it exciting?! can we see it too?
badbadman - September 1, 2005 12:30 PM (GMT)
When i say i have seen the video, i actually saw the video being shot....
I work at Pinewood Studios as a lighting technician and saw the Silversun machine roll into town...
They had quite tight security so i couldnt get onto the set, but suffice to say they were shooting for 2 days in 2 of the largest stages on the studio lot. I saw some of the construction going on and it seemed to have some kind of greek / corinthian style to it, like an amphitheatre. The other stage had several green screens set up, one with a flying rig.....?
There were showgirls too.... (How that fits into the greek thing is anyones guess...), loads of extras in togas and at one point i saw James being harnessed up by a stuntman, which would explain the flying rig.
looked pretty cool.

Hooray! Flying!
PS And thank you for telling us about it. Were you already a Silver Sun fan before seeing them doing their video? (I'm taking it as read that you're a SS fan now.)

wow :o , sounds quite a set-up! Where did they get the money to splash-out on such a lavish video?
Are Invisible Hands loaded or something?

No, you've got Silver Sun confused with The Darkness.

James Broad said in interview in the 90s that if they got big enough, he wanted all that stuff in his shows... descending from ceilings via rocket packs and all that.
I would have loved to have seen it...

Any updates on an October tour, by the way? If it's going to happen it ought to be announced fairly soon...
