Ste - September 18, 2003 05:21 PM (GMT)
First up, if you've not checked the front page of the site then do so now.. go quickly! (CLICK HERE!)..

Ok, now assuming you've read the latest news on there then you should be very excited and I'm sure you'll join me in saying a big thankyou to Philonski for organising the radio show - CHEERS!

A gig and a radio show all in the space of a week.. if anything else happens i think my head might just drop off :D

psycho_phil - September 18, 2003 05:26 PM (GMT)
confused, i c no mention of a radio show??

Ste - September 18, 2003 05:27 PM (GMT)
Should be there - top news article.. try refreshing the page is you still can't see it, maybe you've got a cached version or something..

shed_jish - September 18, 2003 06:08 PM (GMT)
woo!

woo!

woo!

philonski. you are god of the plush but itchyland of cheese cake and suchlike.

havemychildren. (if you should so want them)
how would i tune a radio to that?
i live (near) manchester. how would i recieve it without moving to, say, a sattelite?

Ste - September 18, 2003 06:15 PM (GMT)
It's a digital only station so you need either a digital radio or you can get it on Digital TV like Sky or Freeview, assumedly NTL too.. should be good quality which is nice.

Bone Idle - September 18, 2003 06:28 PM (GMT)
A big hurrah for Philonski. Hopefully it's on at a reasonable day and time (i.e. not while I'm at work!) since I'll have to put the telly on to watch/hear it. Do you think if we badger 6Music enough they will pass the session tracks onto a more accessible radio station? Of course, once the big comeback is fully underway, they'll be like gold dust! :D

Ste - September 18, 2003 07:08 PM (GMT)
Set your video if it's on whilst your at work - sorted!

Yeah, I guess so... can imagine the conversation with my housemate though:
"What're you doing?"
"Watching a video."
"What of?"
"A radio show."
"You videoed a radio programme?"
"Yeah."
"Okay... erm... there are some nice men in white coats at the door now, they've got a lovely new jacket for you to try..."

Damian - September 18, 2003 08:57 PM (GMT)
Some programs are available on the web for a week afterwards, but I'm not sure if this one will be. Nonetheless, keep an eye on this...

Jayem - September 19, 2003 07:31 PM (GMT)
Woo!

You deserve some kind of prize... I'll buy you a beer or something.

That said, I probably won't be able to listen to it, chances are I'll be at work or something, hence unable to get to my computer to listen online... but we shall see.

...

Now having checked the 6Music schedule, I will indeed be at work. Bollocks.

Ah well, I could always invent a dental appointment or something.

Arse. Me too - assuming Gideon Coe is always on between 10:00 and 1:00.

Unless it's on the Tuesday... B)

shed_jish - September 20, 2003 10:30 AM (GMT)
i'll be taping it for sure (or getting someone else with Sky to). is is likely to be broadcast on a webcam like assortment (ala radio one sometimes (possibly))
or is that unlikely as it is digital radio? it would be Wonderful to see them as well as listen, even through an 'omputer screen.

oh- recomended reading:

psycho_phil - September 22, 2003 10:39 AM (GMT)
yay, if only i had a digital radio... i'll try and listen online or something

Sonic Sloth - September 24, 2003 01:39 PM (GMT)
Would anyone with the ability of taping the show be generous enough to provide copies for the likes of.....me? Obviously, costs would be covered- no need to be Scared. :D

Ste - September 24, 2003 02:15 PM (GMT)
Quick question for the Philmeister.. how long is the session likely to last and how many songs are we likely to hear?

Is there any chance we could get JB to take a copy of the new album along too and maybe play one or two tracks off it as well as however many live tracks they'll be playing?

sorry, I just want the moon on a stick don't I? :D

Philonski - September 25, 2003 08:13 AM (GMT)
I don't know what they're intending to play, or whether they'll want to play tracks off the album too. I'll ask JB when he's back from honeymoon, but don't expect answers! Other bands usually just play a couple of songs, with an interview in between.

I'd been holding back the date and time of the session because JB hasn't had a chance to confirm it with the rest of the band yet, but seeing as 6 Music have now announced it officially on their website, I guess I might as well let you know.

They'll be on Gideon Coe's show at 11:40 am on Mon 13th October.

Regarding making copies, I will do my best to encourage 6 Music to put it on their website afterwards, so you will be able to download it. No promises though.

Damian - September 25, 2003 08:46 AM (GMT)
I'm on holiday from 13 October until the day after the gig. Is 6Music available on Sky Digital? If so, I can record it to video. After that, I'll see if I can find out what it takes to get the audio to MP3. Again, no promises but I'll look into it.

Philonski - September 25, 2003 08:50 AM (GMT)
Yes, I think it's on channel 870, but they all moved slots recently, so I'd double check.

shed_jish - September 25, 2003 12:04 PM (GMT)
ok - to record from sky t.v-

1- set the sky box set to the channel number - in this case 870 if it hasn't moved.
2- set the video to record the TV channel with sky on (i.e the button you press on the TV remote, normally 5 or 6)
3- set the time to record on the video- 11.40 on the 13th of the 9th.
4- hope.

hope that helps someone.

I find myself saying that scary thing that anyone who reads the Dilbert cartoons says...

"That's just like my company..."

Me, I like Alice. If someone annoys her, she just employs the fist of death...
