Just looking on dotmusic and saw this review of the new Wheatus album - apparantly it was released on 1st Sept.. that slipped out pretty quietly, i knew they were working on it but had no idea it was out now.. doh!

Sounds like it's pretty good too - anyone here got it?

I saw that Dotmusic review - it's the only decent review I've seen to date, but then they're the sort of band that if you hate, you REALLY hate.

Given what you were saying about missing out on the David Bowie gig, I should check your local gig schedule because Wheatus are playing small venues any time now...

They're on at rock city but in the tiny little room.. wierd, last time they played there they were in the main hall and it was the most crammed i'd ever seen the place.. how the mighty have fallen.. ;)

I don't think it actually is out. It keeps getting delayed, it was supposed to be out in July, for Christ's sake.

Last time I saw Silver Sun was in that very room in October 1998. It's one of my favourite venues - saw a good gig by the Stereophonics there the year before. Probably a more 'sustainable' venue for Wheatus at the moment?

I got their 1st LP, though I'd never pay to see them live.

Yeah, just seems wierd they'd go from selling out the main hall to playing in Disco 2 in the space of a couple of years.

I know they've not done much recently and their last few singles didn't do as well but it seems a bit of a big comedown, thought they could at least still sell out the "rig"..

They were very good live though last time i saw them, could be even better in a smaller venue.. I'm kinda tempted if i've not missed it, think it was this month sometime.

At least then they can describe it as a "sell-out tour"!
