Title: The Bullets

Sonic Sloth - November 20, 2004 01:37 AM (GMT)
Just a random question...Did the album by JB's other band, The Bullets, ever actually get released?

Damian - November 20, 2004 01:34 PM (GMT)
It didn't, and it doesn't look as though James wants in released in any form now (we've asked a few times over the years...)

Wyatt - November 26, 2004 03:20 AM (GMT)
i've got it. it's much like silver sun's first album.. maybe even more simplistic. but very catchy!

Alex - November 26, 2004 09:34 AM (GMT)
any chance we could get a copy? i'd send the cd's. i think if you asked JB he wouldnt mind a few being done. and i know there's a few people who would really like it. and while you're at it, any chance of your pendletones cd. i emailed you about it ages (years?) ago but to no avail. im on the second saturday street team and have a hell of a job here in the uk!

Oooooh. Can of worms time. The record exists and someone has it. In that case, I want.

If JB doesn't think it's indicative of Silver Sun quality (and it's therefore only really good) then he could surely sell a few CD-Rs through here for a few quid... I may be tempted to attempt the gentle art of persuasion...

petester - November 26, 2004 05:11 PM (GMT)
Wyatt! You told me you'd lost it in a hard drive crash! And I've got all your albums too! Bah!

I thought about asking him, but never got around to it.

I'd love to hear it (even if it isn't Silver Sun quality, I don't believe for a second that JB is or was ever likely to put a crap song together) and of course I'd be willing to part with a few quid if it becomes available through here.

Of course, it's up to JB in the end, but that's my two cents.

Alex - November 26, 2004 11:41 PM (GMT)
most deffintately. and if there's now at least four of us want it, thats mass demand. lets form a pressure group!

release "the bullets" (not from jail in a sort of "Free Deirdrie Barlow" sun campaign, just the cd)

alex

Sonic Sloth - November 27, 2004 12:31 AM (GMT)
I add my name to the pressure group...

Please!

petester - November 27, 2004 09:56 AM (GMT)
I would also like to add that I would like to see the comedy video for Bubblegum! :-)

Mike - November 27, 2004 09:58 AM (GMT)
What do we want?
The bullets CD

Now!

A friend of mine says she wants to make a video for Immediate and that all she would need are some (and I quote) "f*** off bright lights"...

hamster_breath - November 27, 2004 11:35 AM (GMT)
Make that another one for the bullets cd...

kiosk - November 28, 2004 11:48 AM (GMT)
Any JB Material has got to be better than most rubbish released today even if it aint up to SS Standards.......Go on let us have a copy.....Im sure we can make it worth you're while ;)

petester - November 28, 2004 12:10 PM (GMT)
Is somebody going to contact JB about this then? :-)

Not to put too much pressure on him, I think Damian is far and away the diplomat among us. ;)

Looks like I've got to do it then, haven't I? I've raised the subject before but not especially seriously... if you look up the webchat thread you'll see it on there.

I'll ask. I want to make a few more promo suggestions to him anyway.

* To be fair, there are plenty of diplomatic people on here, but cheers for the compliment!

I'm very willing to dance around too. Though you may wish it would be in the dark.

Jayem - November 29, 2004 08:59 PM (GMT)
If we're making a video, I could be there wearing a Santa hat...

No, don't run away.....

shed_jish - December 1, 2004 04:52 PM (GMT)
Something to do at the silver sun fan meet?

Serena Wombat - December 2, 2004 10:37 AM (GMT)
Being the "friend" who had the idea in the first place, this has now got me quite excited.

I may have to go and have a lie down for a while and try to think about it sensibly.

Wyatt - December 7, 2004 06:01 AM (GMT)
if anyone wants the bullets cd. Instant Message me at winter romeo. (AIM)

-wyatt-

shed_jish - December 7, 2004 11:25 AM (GMT)
I reckon, if wyatt sends it too person A, they could send it to person B, who could send it to person C, etc and everyone would get it and wyatt wouldn't have to send it to lots of different people.

Alex - December 7, 2004 04:39 PM (GMT)
id be gald of that, though i dont have AIM messenger. i may have to be second or third in the chain!

alex

shed_jish - December 7, 2004 06:28 PM (GMT)
well, you be second, i'll be third, and someone with AIM go first.. someone?

Sonic Sloth - December 7, 2004 06:50 PM (GMT)
Oo, I can do that :)

I shall try and pester Mr. Wyatt if I see him about.

Philonski - December 7, 2004 07:08 PM (GMT)
Sonic Sloth - shall I be another second and cater for a couple of thirds? I feel really bad doing this though - does everyone promise to buy a 'real' copy if JB makes some himself? I promise I will. [raises hand and does serious face]

Sonic Sloth - December 7, 2004 10:36 PM (GMT)
Does anyone think we should ask JB's permission before spreading the album potentially all over the net?

Alex - December 8, 2004 12:14 AM (GMT)
i would deffinately buy an album if he made them, i still want to buy the remaining bootlegs i dont have. i think everyone would. and im sure if you asked him he wouldnt mind. he didnt when i emailed him about copying some bootlegs for the americans amongst us.

alex

Jayem - December 8, 2004 01:15 AM (GMT)
If JB puts out some real copies, I swear on my grandma's grave that I'll buy at least one, regardless of whether I already have the mp3s.

Yes - but I reckon he'll say no. I want to hear it though... Maybe we could fly Wyatt over here, hire a room somewhere for a private listening, and have everyone checked for microphones and bugs on the way in.

Hmmm... I think my conscience is winning out over my curiosity. Damian was going to ask JB about it, wasn't he? Perhaps that's still the best thing to do.

shed_jish - December 8, 2004 09:09 AM (GMT)
erm... good point (s). I assumed james would be more bothered by having to make copies of it than not making money from it.

Philonski - December 8, 2004 11:08 AM (GMT)
We could copy them ourselves and then send JB £15 each for the privilege...

Flangepipe - December 12, 2004 03:47 PM (GMT)
So anyone heard this album yet then? I'm speculating it may have been everything the second SS album wasn't, I Can't Wait from the JB solo snippet should be a SS first song statment of intent at gigs, hell for leather!

Tracklisting apparently is;

01 - impenetration
02 - runaround
03 - INTERLUDE
04 - i can't wait
05 - dress up for me
06 - high fives
07 - hurt you
08 - ???
09 - INTERLUDE
10 - rejection
11 - dance with me
12 - put down
13 - spoil your fun

Alex - December 13, 2004 12:52 AM (GMT)
you see now its getting like disappear here. i know its out there and like everything else jb has done im begining to want it rather badly because we all know its going to sound like SS even if it wasnt meant to. and we all know we're gonna love it. let the copying commence (please JB?)

Damian has recently fallen prey to a mixture of being extremely busy-ness (last week), nasty colds (this week) and... inaction (all the rest). Sorry. I will get to it.

Mike - December 13, 2004 12:28 PM (GMT)
'I can't wait' was on one of the bootlegs and i thought it was great.

Alex - December 14, 2004 07:15 PM (GMT)
i loved it too, it was blatantly a silver sun song that they didnt record as a band. so good.
