Title: Darkness Tickets
Description: Nottingham Arena - 24th Nov

Ste - November 17, 2004 08:32 AM (GMT)
I've got two spare standing tickets to see the Darkness at Nottingham Ice Arena next Wednesday (24th) if anyone is interested.

They're £30 each to keep it nice n easy. If you're interested either reply here or email me at ste@silver-sun.co.uk and we'll work something out.

Cheers, Ste

I almost did the same when I found out that The Wildhearts weren't supporting, but Ash are obviously great... and the fact that Justin Hawkins really should keep his mouth shut more has almost made me forget how great their singles were. And they do put on a really good show.

I'm still going the gig, basically i bought two tickets thinking it'd be dead easy to find a mate to go with but with a little over a week to go i've still not found anyone who wants to go so have a spare ticket.

A mate at work is in the same position so we thought rather than trying to sell individual tickets seperately we may as well sell them as a pair and go together so we're gonna go using his tickets and try and sell my two.. if that makes sense.

I didn't realise the Wildhearts weren't on now though, that's a shame - love Ash though so still looking forward to it. :)

You're getting Do Me Bad Things instead - I saw them at Reading and thought they were atrocious. Bad pub rock that can't hide the fact just because they have five singers. Just my view though...

Love to help, but I'm seeing them at Sheffield Arena 0n the 4th Dec. Sorry.

And I AM looking forward to it!!!!

Think I've sold it - sorted B)

Looking forward to it too, should be a good show (barring the 1st support act from what Damian has said). Hopefully Ash will be given enough time to run through a good set.

Wonder how long the Darkness themselves will play for, they're gonna struggle to get past an hour or so if they only play the album and some b-sides so i'm assuming there'll be some new material in there and maybe a couple of covers too.. fingers crossed..

Think I'm Crazy?

I have bought tickets to see The Darkness as they will:

Dress up in their Pyjamas, sing a lot of tosh for 60 mins, scream like an old woman at a bingo hall winning £5 & have 12,000 morons at the end of the gig go away saying to one another, there great!!!! Errrrrr after 1 LP, sure! :ph43r: :ph43r: :ph43r:

We can charge you £30 because you do what we tell you to do! Considering many bands only charge £8 - £12 on their debut LP. But we is The Darkness we have errrrr   world domination, oh sorry I mean UK popularity as we are a pop band like Blue & Westlife but we can play a guitar? Hmmm, well try to. when I’m not trying to break window with my fist!

End of gig report: We are The Crapness thanks for coming to see our show (not gig) see you soon, we’ll play 15 mins more next time & charge maybe £35……cos we know you can cough up! :) :) :)

Oh, forgot to say the Manic Millennium was £35 & Shack were better value for money even though the whole crowd ignored them, poor scoucers

Permission To SOD OFF?

On the South Bank Show tonight when asked about new material Justin Hawkins said, "We've got caught in the corporate machine, it feels like we're robbing the kids. We've only got one album and a few b-sides...." and he went on about them only having one album and the fact perhaps they shouldn't be headlining but of course he wants to...I doubt the ticket prices are just down to them but then again if they really wanted the ticket prices lower I'm sure they could!

Sweet G 24 - November 22, 2004 12:05 AM (GMT)
That Pawkins talks utter crap & its worse than his music!!!

I mean he loves the attention, he's only saying that in attempt to be clever though, I don' think so mate!!!!!

Your The Crapness!

Face It

Alex - November 22, 2004 12:35 AM (GMT)
i thought they came off really well in the south bank show. it was very good. i thought that bit with the dj at the start was awful, taking the pizzle out of a girl who had been raped live on air. justin gave hima piece of his mind and rightly so!

and i think anyone, including sweet g, given the chance to stand on a huge stage in front of thousands, not scores, would do it. anyone who says they wouldnt is lying, or just a tit who's "far too cool". yeah he seems to feel guilty, but at the same time he's fulfilling his dreams. go for it mate i say. given the chance i'd stand in an arena rather than a sweaty club.

as an idea, my mates band get more of a kick playing for 120 8 year olds at dads school than they do playing in a pub in front of 30. the 30 appreciate them more for sure. but even if half the 8 years olds arent paying attention, the other half are watching. same but on a bigger scale.

The tickets are £24 not £30, but then there's the usual booking fee and postage costs on that which takes em upto about £27, i just was selling them for £30 to make it a nice even number.

I like the Darkness, they make music i enjoy listening too and i'm sure they'll put on a highly entertaining show. They may have got big after one album but that's only cos people went out and bought their stuff.. it wasn't long ago that they were playing in small clubs for £12 a ticket, they wouldn't be doing these larger shows if there wasn't demand for them.

Plus, you're getting Ash on the bill - i saw them earlier in the year and paid about £16 I think it was so to get a gig with The Darkness and Ash together (plus another, reportedly bit rubbish band) for £24 isn't bad value in my eyes.

Damian - November 22, 2004 09:25 AM (GMT)
Ginger has finally confirmed that the Wildhearts aren't playing because they didn't want to be third on the bill!

Sweet G 24 - November 22, 2004 03:30 PM (GMT)
£24 is still toooooo much

Though if you sharp like me you'll notice that tickets on Ebay are going for £10 (Std) a piece :D :D :D

Alex H - November 22, 2004 09:52 PM (GMT)
I thought they came across well too, I tend not to believe anything I see in the media (not that I see much of it) with regards to people in the public eye, though the South Bank Show is surely a more credible output than the tabloids/general music press.

I didn't see that bit regarding the DJ you mentioned, that's a disgrace! Any idea if it was a popular radio station?

Alex - November 24, 2004 01:07 AM (GMT)
i long for the super group tim wheeler and justin hawkins are talking about. sounds fun. cant remember who else was going to be in it. should be good though.
