Title: Movies
Description: What films you looking forward to now?

What forthcoming cinema releases are you most looking forward to?
I can't make my mind up whether Hulk looks pants or not but i'm leaning more towards the pants option at the moment.
Terminator 3 looks suprisingly good so quite looking forward to that now.
American Pie 3 looks to be funny even if it is more of the same and I saw the trailer for Tomb Raider 2 yesterday and that also looked like it might be suprisingly decent..
What films you all looking forward to? Anything coming soon or are you waiting for the final Matrix & Lord Of The Rings movies at the end of the year?

Not a lot excites me at the minute. T3 doesn't sound that good (it's a 12A rating, not promising for that sort of film) and James Cameron refused to touch it with a barge pole. The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen sounds interesting. And I thought The Matrix Reloaded was diabolical... I realise this is heresy to some but there you go. So I'm not holding my breath for the third instalment.
Having said that, I've seen a few decent ones lately. The Times newspaper went through a spate of doing those free preview vouchers - it would appear in the Saturday edition and you went on the next Sunday morning. It was odd seeing films at that time but after I while I started to like it. Saw about 10 of them this way, including The Recruit, 25th Hour and Phone Booth. In fact, most of them were really good.
Um... and there was Bruce Almighty too. At least I didn't have to pay for it...
Cheers,
Damian.

I saw an interview with James Cameron and he says he likes T3 and how it turned out - the reviews have been pretty good too on the whole.
Shame it's a 12A but T2 was only a 15 and when you think about it, barring a couple of moments there wasn't much in that in terms of violence (the only bit i can think of was when the T1000 skewered someone).
I doubt it'll be great but i think it'll at least be a decent action flick and the ending is supposed to be phenominal according to some reviews.
I agree on Matrix Reloaded, i enjoyed it but after the greatness of the first one it was a huge let down - there was a few bits that spoilt it but the bit at the end with the guy who made it who basically droned on talking crap for about ten minutes was the worst bit - I know it was supposed to be all important, meaningful stuff but it was just.. well... crap really. Am hoping the next one will be better as if nothing else, the Reloaded did leave plenty of questions for them to answer.
Bubba Hotep is supposedly finally coming out in the Autumn, not sure if it's getting a cinema release or if it'll be straight to DVD (or whether it's a worldwide release or US only) but hopefully i'll finally get to see it one way or another.. that's probably my most aniticipated film right now - a geriatric Elvis Presley taking on an evil mummy with the help of a black guy who thinks he's JFK? Sounds good to me - especially as Bruce Campbell is playing Elvis :D

Saw T3 last night - it's bloody excellent, a million times better than Matrix Reloaded.
It's basically more of the same but that's a good thing IMO.
The TX is cool, not quite as menacing as the T1000 or Arnie in the first one but still does the job. The story is pretty decent and the ending is one of the best i've seen in a long time.
Easily the best film i've seen this year so far.. there's a few quality comedy moments in there too.
The 12A rating doesn't seem to have made a difference either, it's still as violent/sweary as the last one though like the last one, it's still a fair bit tamer than the first film.

Times have changed! Violent, sweary and kids under 12 can still see it with an adult. Reminds me of my younger days when my parents for some reason let me watch Alien as a little kid and it scared the crap out of me. Still, perhaps I'll watch T3 after all.
Anyway, what I REALLY want to know is - when is Finding Nemo released here?
Cheers,
Damian.

Star Wars Episode III :P :P :P
Martrix Revelations   ;)

Righto, two films, two dates for the diary.
Belleville Rendez-Vous - 19 September
Finding Nemo - 10 October
Both of the above look like they will rule, as the Yanks say...
And please let Matrix Revolutions be better than Reloaded. I came so close to walking out of that one.

On the whole the state of films for the past 9 years has been crap.

That's a rather sweeping statement! OK, so there have been plenty of rubbish films coming out of Hollywood over that time, but there have also been many absolute gems. To be honest, I don't think the proportion of dross to genius has changed much either - in 15 years time people will usually only remember the good 'uns anyway.
