Title: Silver Sun Hot Scan Action

Got my scanner working and thought you people might be the kind of anally retentive fanboys who may be interested in seeing some of the SS memorabilia that I collected from early gigs. I have more if you want to see it, just say the word.

the word! the word! oh dear god the word!

how do we join the mailing list? is it still around? will they be playing at sheffield again?

can i put 'em up on an un-official site?

Okay, everything is scanned now. I think I lost my "Julia" postcard, bugger.

The "Neo Wave" posters were being given away for free outside the Astoria gig in London. The gig in Bath that the Moles Club poster advertises happened on the same night as a general election. While most of the country were at home awaiting to find out that Blair had won power, those in the know were getting drunk and "rocking out" with S.S.

Most of the release dates mentioned on the postcards are wrong due to Polydor moving them forward. signedpaper.jpg was James writing down the correct date (the following Monday) as he signed something for me. This was in the Seven Stars pub in Bristol where previously myself and my friends had observed both S.S. and Scarfo sitting down together and eating some home-cooked food. The guy from Scarfo now calls himself Hotel and pretends to be from a Detroit garage band, it is pleasing that none of S.S. have gone down the same route.

Jish, if you wish to add the images to a website then that's okay I guess, as long as the site isn't rubbish. I will leave the files where they are for now so that any historians studying bargain-bin indie will be able to analyse them.

I used to have some of those, but I've lost them now. I've still got the Neo Wave postcard. I've got some posters of some of the singles, including a full 1.5m poster of I'll See You Around.

That's quite a collection you've got. I remember once when TMTLTL came out, one of my local record stores had loads of 12" cardboard posters in the window advertising it. They proimised me I could have them when they took them down, but when I got back they'd thrown them away. Grrr!

ok! shan't link it here cos it's fairly rubbish, and also not on the internet though. and it would be cheap and evil, cos this site is fairly rock and/or roll.

[edit -will it ever be like this again? *sigh* i predicted a sort-of beatles for our generation. about time. since one true voice split *cry* all i do is weep. ]

"anally retentive fanboys" - that could be quite upsetting, if it weren't so darn accurate...

Just wanted to say two things:

1) In respect of the above, I was at that Bath Moles gig and it was ace. Still managed to vote that evening too. My friend who came to the gig was a friend of the Monster Raving Loony Party candidate and she nearly (but not quite) persuaded me to vote for him.

2) Back from Reading. The music ruled, the site itself is as hideous as ever.

they really should do sommet about that, but it wouldn't be the same without including the price of three pairs of shoes under "festival costs". 'ope you had a good time? my friend was in leeds, he said the darkness rocked his socks off. it was probably the mud partly though. and to the fella who likes the mad caddies- he saw them. they also rocked his socks off.

luckily it was a three pack he had.

that interesting about silver sun mingling with rock types. the bit about scarfo, and hotel from the kills, saw them live and they were rather good. though that isnt good for support slots really, polar opposites. though one that might be worth a lead...mutual apreciation society with veruca salt eh? drummer from veruca salt...stacy jones (male), now winging his way to rock stardom with.... american hifi. silver sun and american hifi are not polar opposites, and that would be a good support slot. i mean silver sun would love to have american hifi supporting them!

(and i do like american hifi before anyones slags them off, they make some quality rock rock songs. though some cheesy ones aswell)

alex.

I don't mind American Hi-Fi actually... well, the first album was excellent, although I thought the second one was appalling. But yeah, whether AHF support Silver Sun, or the other way round, I can't see it doing any harm.
