Description: It's great!

Just got back from seeing it, it's fantastic - best one of the trilogy.

I hadn't read the book so didn't know at all what to expect but it was superb.

Anyone else seen it yet? Not gonna say anything to spoil it for anyone who's not seen it but it really is great (I know, stating the obvious)..

Going to see it next week, and seriously looking forward to it.

Personally, I always thought the book was the weakest of the three, partly because not a lot actually happens in it. But I think the film version gets around this by nicking the last few chapters of The Two Towers.

Some muppets were mouthing off to me about what happens today...shut your faces damnit! But yes, will hopefully see it on Sunday.

Um, am I the only person who has never seen any of the films?

I know someone else who hasn't. But you should see them...Fellowship of the Ring and see what you think of it.

I'm one of those people who hasn't seen some of the 'obvious' films, those that people expect almost everyone to have seen.

You should definately try and see them somehow, rent or buy the extended edition DVD's of the first two then go see the final part at the cinema.

Or find a cinema that's showing the first two - our local UGC is showing the extended editions at the moment alongside ROTK. I honestly think you'd like them, i don't know a single person who's seen them and didn't like em.

I was pretty uninterested when the first one came out, I thought orks and monsters and the whole thing sounded really geeky but eventually after all my mates telling me how good it was i gave in and went to see it.

I thought it was good but not amazing. Went to see the two towers when that came on and that totally hooked me - much more action than the first film.

The third one was more of the same as you'd likely expect but mostly bigger and better in every way.

At the end of the film, 90% of the people in the cinema gave a standing ovation which i've never seen in a cinema before.

I think it'll be a long time before we see any other films to match their scope and brilliance, definately the best movie trilogy yet made in my opinion.

Aye... it was the 'geek' factor that put me off, but I should probably get over it. My housemate has the extended DVDs of parts one and two, so there's something for a rainy day...

I'll wait for the DVD, though the 1st was watchable, the 2nd was poor.

I thought the first one was brilliant and couldn't believe I had to wait a year to see it's sequel! Then the 2nd one was a bit disappointing in comparison, though still a really good film. I've been told the 3rd compares to the first so I'm looking forward to seeing it.

I think the geek thing about the LOTR trilogy has disappeared, so many people I know who would usually be bothered about such things say they're great films.
