Title: Silversun Live..

Kat - January 2, 2010 05:58 PM (GMT)
Apologies for the naivety of this post, been a fan of silver sun for a long time blah blah but I managed to miss them the one time I was aware of a gig (yes, obviously not their biggest fan) and I've been away from the UK the last 2ish years, so..

are there any plans in the works? when was the last tour? Thanks :)

Tours these days are generally one-offs (or two-offs) I think, but it has been a while, 18 months or so I think?

From what I can gather, for the minute it'll be more studio activity (old and hopefully new stuff popping up on iTunes) but I'm sure they'll play live again at some point in the future...

Great, thanks for the speedy reply! Will keep stopping by/checking iTunes.

By the way, does supermark500 still stop by here?!

Not for some time, I don't think... unless he's lurking?

I thought of Supermark500 the other day when you mentioned Antiproduct... he's not posted on here for a long time.

Wow, 2 minutes. That was a speedy reply.

Have you been anywhere exciting for the last 2 years?

Kat - January 12, 2010 05:47 PM (GMT)
I've been travelling basically.. Did a big world tour and then went to Canada to work on a years visa. Been an amazing 2 years!

Cool! I was wondering as that's what I'm about to do at some point in the next 18 months. Southeast Asia to New Zealand to Hawaii/Western USA travelling for a year, and then to South America to (hopefully) work for a year. Did you have any particular highlights (or even lowlights)?

Kat - January 20, 2010 05:25 PM (GMT)
Sorry I am awfully slow at replying.

It sounds like you are planning to do a similar trip.. I started in Vietnam and worked my way through SE Asia down to Singapore where I flew to Aus/NZ/Fiji/USA. A typical travellers route really!

High points - VIETNAM. Just amazing. Go to Sapa and Halong Bay in the north then buy a hop on/hop off bus ticket that takes you from Hanoi down to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). I'm getting all nostalgic writing this and itching to go back!

Cambodia was good too. I am a war geek so I found the whole Khmer Rouge aspects really interesting, albeit horrifying. Similar to Vietnam actually - cu chi tunnels etc.

If you are limited for time do less Australia and more NZ... NZ was my favourite country alongside Vietnam. Just stunning.. and fun!

One low light.. LA. what a dump!! I got the first greyhound out of there to vegas...

Hmm I could go on forever so I'll stop. Good luck planning your trip!!

Thanks for the tips, I'll definitely look up your Vietnam route. I was initially attracted to Cambodia due to Angkor and then found out more about the history and Khmer Rouge in recent years. I bought The Killing Fields on DVD but am yet to watch it.

I'm planning three months in NZ, and probably no time in Australia, unless there's a really cheap flight and I get bored in NZ (I doubt it).

I'm not a big fan of modern cities so I doubt I'll be spending much time in any US ones. Thanks again, I could talk about travel forever so I don't mind if people go on about it!
