I was in town and bored, so I bought the abovementioned's new album, Under the Blacklight.

It's not that bad, actually. Good harmony, and Jenny Lewis has a good voice, uses it to good effect. It's a lightweight rock album, but doesn't pretend to be anything else. (and I've just noticed that I've used the word"good" three times in that sentence.......maybe I need to listen to it again, a little more critically)

On the other hand, stuff you buy doesn't have to be earthshattering and full of angst/deep political meaning does it? This is just "good" to listen to.

I'm not a massive fan, but I really like The Postal Service, the other band she sings in...

I really like a couple of songs, especially Paint's Peeling. I've been a semi-fan for a few years, but never enough to go and see them live until they were playing at V this year. They were by no means brilliant but decent enough...

I've loved 'em for years, but haven't managed to get out to anywhere that's likely to sell the album. Goddamn living in the back of beyond.

I'm moving back to London this week so I'll see what happens.

I like the album. More importantly, so does my girlfriend, so I've been hearing it quite a lot recently.

You'll probably find the streets paved with gold, an invitation to be Lord Mayor, a flat overlooking Wembley Stadium and a Virgin Megastore with the album on offer.............

Well, maybe one of these may happen?
