Title: Silver Sun On Facebook
levcore - June 8, 2007 11:22 AM (GMT)
just in case any of you fine people here have a facebook account, They have that audio tool thing where you can add a song to your profile kinda like myspace. When i added this tool to my profile i was very dismayed after a music search to find there was no silver sun on facebook! So i set about remedying that problem. I uploaded loads of tracks, so if you search on 'everyone's audio' in the audio search section, you shall find a plethora of fine silver sun tunes. Also, if any of you peeps here have a facebook account, add me and say hey, i'll be found as: richard levins, or i also seem to be one of the first people to come up if you search for silver sun. I also started the silver sun appreciation society on there, so join that too!

The two posts above refer to one and the same thing!

Facebook has gone crazy in the last few days. I only joined on Friday, and everybody I have ever met ever seems to be on there - having only joined in the last two weeks or so.

This can only mean... Facebook 'moles' are amongst us. Well, I'd had loads of invites and only finally joined after getting one from you. Hmmmm.... (strokes detective chin...) :)

facebook is incredibly addictive, i love it! It's great to catch up with people from school too! Faces i haven't seen in years!

Am I too old for facebook? I got a severe bollocking for my myspace foray from the progeny!

When you came to Bristol, you came down the front for the Silver Sun gig. As far as I'm concerned, this gives you a license to do whatever you want!

Yes, I don't quite understand it. I was invited to sign up some time over the weekend. I did, in fact that was the second time I'd signed up, but I didn't use it the first time and I don't intend to this time either. I like Myspace, I can't work Facebook.

I spent half a day on it at the weekend and gradually it all became clear. It works better than MySpace, and isn't too complicated, as long as you ignore the several thousand optional applications you can add. And for some reason every time one of my friends (who is a show-off) changes her profile picture (about twice a day), it says that Dan has changed his too, which he hasn't.

Yes. I'm not getting all this "virtual food fight" business but otherwise it's been quite nice to catch up with a couple of people. I say a couple rather than loads, because I deliberately never joined Friends Reunited reasoning that you deliberately do or don't keep in touch with people for a reason. So I haven't gone seeking out every old school friend.
It is nice for keeping in touch with existing friends, though.

Yeah, I'm at the stage where I've found all the people I want to find, and now people that I don't want to find me are turning up and I might have to add them out of politeness. :-( I don't like that.
Edit: And I wouldn't even be able to say things like that on Facebook, because all the relevant people would read it! I've never had to be properly careful of what I say online before. Blehh.

Yes. There are two people I've added - one of whom I really didn't want to add, the other of whom I didn't even know that well (he once worked with me apparently) and clicking through to the latter's profile reveals some life views that I'm very much NOT at ease with.
But those people could see everything anyway. I've just added them and if they post anything I don't like, it'll get deleted. 2 out of 27... could be worse.

i sort of like it as it's nicer than myspace and much less advertised-on. Plus you can't "poke" people on myspace....
not that being pokeworthy is a criteria for stuff.. but it's mildly entertaining!
i think i get on with most of the people on mine. i've not added anyone whose views i don't agree with (as yet) - most people i know i think are rather easygoing!
hurrah. Oh, I am a spoon on there, in the silver sun group, for anyone who is a bit confused. Not that you would be!

Can I just say: I'm 34 years old. Many of you are around my age, or a bit older or a bit younger. Yes? And just because you get older, it doesn't mean you need to take life seriously, or retire to a life of domesticity and feet up in front of the TV, yes? Good. So...
Why do people keep asking me if I want to throw a sheep at them, bite them and turn them into zombies, send a 'drink' to them that isn't a drink at all... and so on and so forth? There is much about my sense of humour that borders on infantile yet... I just don't get this at all. Someone help me out here.
(For anyone who isn't on Facebook, this will make no sense at all and I'd just like to clarify that, for instance, the aforementioned sheep isn't really a sheep... which is ENTIRELY THE POINT.)
Sorry. I've had a bad day.

Someone else who doesn't see the point of vampire biting, sheep throwing and belonging to te Kev the Cat club.
Could we start a Facebook for grown-ups? We could call it a message board, then no-one would write on it. Hang on, I think I've just spotted a weakness in my idea............

Hey! I didn't say anything about not joining the Kev the Cat club...
...as long as it's not called "if 10,000 people join this group I will rename myself Kev the Cat", given that a lot of Facebook groups follow this template...

I did join the SS Facebook crew, and was surprised to see Alex's photos up uncredited!!!!
So I added a little commentette to that effect. Hope no-one minds. B)
