Soo, I've just had the universes greatest valentine's day idea!!!

i'm not going to say what it is because it's in the early stages of an idea. it needs time and form and stuff.

needless to say i will be spending VERY little money - i'm going to get some candles and some food, but that's it. I'll also be making a card (with the theme of Lincoln, the greatest president and they might be giants album).

i will let you know if and how it goes. I'm really proud of this idea and i'm determined to make it real rather than just thinking of it as a nice idea that never happened!

how are you (plural) and your loved ones celebrating the day of brilliant marketing schemes and lucrative commercialism?

Is the secret idea to have food and candles and a card?

I mean, i'm desperate not to buy anything either, but if it's just tea lights and a pound shop table cloth and some ice cream isn't so bad (is it?). because the point of the idea is not the food and stuff, that's instrumental, it's the huge tattoo of her name i'm getting that's going to be the main point. And before you worry, i'm not buying that, because i can get it done by a trainee tattoo artist for nothing! I was worried i wouldn't be able to find anyone who'd be willing to tattoo my forehead, but actually one-eyed steve seemed really eager.

I just wish the people that forced all this "You MUST celebrate Valentine's Day" stuff down our throats knew what it did to the psyche of the average single person one day per year. Depressingly enough, I know advertising is about making people feel inadequate unless they've got something, but...

Mrs Nick, who's off work sick at the moment, has just rung me to berate my purchase of earrings for Valentine's day.

Apparently next door have just had a brand new 5 series BMW delivered by low loader, and HE obviously knows how to treat HIS wife, DOESN'T HE!!!!!

Wait till I see him tonight.......................

Mr Philonski got out of bed this morning and threw up. That was romantic. (My BMW hasn't turned up yet, either.)

No BMW for me either. Good job I don't want one.

I saw a gig though. First up was The Sunshine Underground - very derivative but very dancey and the singer had an amazing voice. Second was CSS who were just a laugh in the best way. Finally it was Klaxons who rocked like gooduns in spite of the album being a bit dull...

the big plan didn't work out exactly - apparently you have to be sober to get a tattoo on your forehead!


but really, the room i was planning on sneaking up to in uni had a lesson on in it. Luckily i checked the room timetable in order to avoid sneaking up there then being interrupted mid-serenade (or worse, mid tattoo).


the bank retained my card the other day, but when i get it back, i'm going to get tickets to see tilly and the wall, who are supporting CSS soon. hurrah!


but actually i really didn't like CSS's album so much that i gave it to my bro! he says he'll lend it me, so it's getting another chance. lucky.

Apparently it's Saint Faustino Day in Italy today, to celebrate everyone who is single. When I read 'St Faustino' I immediately thought of Faustino Asprilla.
