Went out on a friend's birthday last night to what I thought would be a standard indie/rock disco type thing and it turned out to also feature two bands. One was an awful band from Bristol. The other lot were called The Wombats and came from Liverpool. And they were ace. Any band that starts its set with all three people singing the entire first song with a cappella harmonies and handclaps alone gets off to a good start for me.

I guess that's a recommendation then. Just listening to the page below now, to see how they sound on record...

I was listening to them earlier this afternoon! I wonder why... oh yes, I remember, I was trying to remember why I'd gone online, and while I was thinking I typed a random phrase into Google and their MySpace page was linked to on a page I clicked through to via the random search results. They had a fun Christmas song.

Ah! They played the fun Christmas song last night - it's on some CD or other that costs a fiver and the funds go to Shelter. Going to find out exactly what CD they mean...

I do so love being ahead of my time... :D
