Title: Kanto Map/Information

flyingarcanine - August 16, 2005 01:05 AM (GMT)
Kanto, located on the continent of Tohjo, is a country from the popular games and show Pokémon. The RPG is based there. This in no way means that the RPG is Pokemon only, but this does mean that all characters are to live in or often visit Kanto. Other places may be mentioned or gone to in the RPG, however, this is merely used as a main area.

Kanto Map
This is a map with extensive information on Kanto.

Some brief information about the major cities, towns and places:

Pallet Town
Pallet Town is the origin of Ash Ketchum and Gary Oak(Neither of which have been signed up for yet...) and the location of Proffessor Oak's Lab.

Viridian City
Viridian City is a place not far from Pallet Town where there is a mixed type pokemon gym led by Blue(Gary) and a trainer house. Also, the path to the pokemon league starts here.

Pewter City
Pewter City contains a Science Museum, the Rock type Pewter gym led by Brock, and the entrance to Mt. Moon.

Mt. Moon
Mt. Moon used to be an amazingly complex maze to get through, but now, it is easily conquered. Mt. Moon is famous for its Clefairy pokemon, which dance a mystic dance every Monday night at the top and leave behind a moon stone.

Cerulean City
Cerulean contains water type Cerulean Gym led by Misty, an old building that used to be a bike shop, and a path that leads to Bill's old cottage, where his father now recides.

Vermilion City
Vermilion has many things, including Kanto's Pokemon fan club, Vermilion Pier where you can travel to Olivine City, Johto on the S.S.Aqua every other day, and Vermilion Gym, an electric type gym led by Lt. Surge.

Celadon City
Celadon is the biggest City in Kanto, with a huge mart, called Celadon Department Store. Also, there is a building called Celadon Mansion where workers of Gamefreak(creators of pokemon) reside. One even says "I drew you!" in the games. There is also a grass type gym, Celadon Gym lead by Erika, Eusine's house(a man obsessed with the capture of Suicune), and Celadon Game Corner, the former HQ of Team Rocket.

Lavender Town
Lavender Town is a town greatly tied to the dead through Pokemon Tower, a cemetary where dead pokemon are buried. There is also the Soul House, another place where dead pokemon are buried. Lavender does not have a gym, but it does have a Radio Tower which broadcasts various radio stations throughout Kanto.

Saffron City
Saffron is another large city, including Silph Co, creators of various items, such as the Master ball, the Silph Scope, and the Upgrade, and was once taken over by Team Rocket. Saffron also includes the copycat's house, a Fighting Dojo(an unofficial gym), the Magnet Train for easy access to Johto, and the Psychic type pokemon gym lead by the powerful telekinetic Sabrina.

Fuchsia City
Fuchsia City includes the popular Safari Zone and a tough pokemon gym which uses strategy more than any one type, though the poison type is prominent. The main strategy of this gym is annoyance, using confusion, poison, and stealth(moves like double team). Also, the gym is hard to navigate with glass walls that are nearly see through, and with people that imitate Janine's looks(the new gym leader, Koga's daughter having taken over when he was elected for the Elite four) to confuse you further! This is a gym one must take very seriously, especially considering the fact that Koga and Janine are both shinobi(ninja). Winners recieve the Soul Badge.

Cinnabar Island
Cinnabar Island has a burned down Science Lab where Mewtwo was created, a pokemon gym that can only be opened with a key from said Lab, and a new Science Lab where you can get pokemon fossils revived.

Indigo Plateau
Indigo Plateau is where the Elite Four reside. To become pokemon champion, you must defeat them and the current pokemon champion.

Mt. Silver(Not shown on map from above, but shown on Johto map, found on that site)
Mt. Silver is a place where powerful pokemon, not to mention the pokemon champion, Ash, thrive. You must navigate a confusing cave, all the while defending yourself from powerful pokemon, to reach Ash for the battle of your live. However, only trainers given specific permission by Proffessor Oak are allowed to go to Mt. Silver.
