Title: "D"
Description: mousems
Kittyhawk - August 21, 2011 11:48 PM (GMT)
He looks like a Kildares if you know what to look for. The two girls with him certainly don't look the part, but they are too. Damien though, looks like a Kildares. He's got that ethereal sort of quality, like some apparition in underexposed photos. He's got those smokey jade eyes too. If you know what to look for, he looks like a Kildares, like Macsen, like Viv. Even though his coppery hair is mostly grey and too short for that to be a telltale, you can still tell.
Poor D here has no idea just how disconcerting Joshua Gunn finds him. He has no idea his little creepy brother is Josh's former step father. Nope poor innocent D popped into town on an errand involving his errant sister Danny. And well he happened to decide it'd be okay to make a weekend of it and bring his two teenage daughters. So it makes sense that D took Lilac and Perriwinkle shopping, and it makes sense his daughters, who aren't exactly rocking mundane, liked something about Chrissie Beck's shop. So here they all are looking at smudge sticks and Copal, with poor Josh pale as a ghost in the back room

"Joshua," says Chrissie, "what's wrong?"
Christian looks like her usual sunshiney self, slippy golden hair and a rather tiny outfit. They're getting the last of the summer weather, and the workroom, where Chrissie is bent over some charm on the table, is hot.
"You look wretched."
Chrissie doesn't know there's a Kildares out in the shop. Chrissie doesn't even really know what one is. The new girl is minding the store, and she probably doesn't know what a Kildares is either.
Kittyhawk - August 23, 2011 02:06 AM (GMT)
"That guy out there....." Joshua says.
Really he looks pretty inoffensive. Overdressed in his long sleeved black button down and black pinstriped pants. But there is a sense of style there.
The girls seem bubbley and energetic if innish. This doesn't seem like a distressing scene. Well unless you 'know' what a Kildares is. Joshua does.
mouse - August 23, 2011 02:46 AM (GMT)
Chrissie doesn't even get up to look. She's doing something fiddly with a bit of wire. "You want me to get him out?" she asks Josh. Chrissie and Rowan might not always be cool but Chris is both very attached to and very protective of her brother's lover.
Kittyhawk - August 23, 2011 10:58 PM (GMT)
"Ehh, probably not. I mean as far as I can tell he isn't doing anything. It's just......" Well he's creepily familiar.
mouse - August 24, 2011 08:58 PM (GMT)
"Just..." Chrissie prompts, still focused on her project. It seems to be a little wire and bead angel. Chrissie's clever with things like that, not that you'd entirely expect is from her airy appearance. Dumb blonde anyone.
Kittyhawk - August 24, 2011 09:33 PM (GMT)
"Like Viv's father. He gives me the creeps."
mouse - August 24, 2011 09:36 PM (GMT)
This doesn't really mean much to Chrissie, who's only faintly aware of who the fuck Viv is. She's having trouble making a piece of hair fine wire go where she wants it to, despite deft manipulations with a pair of tweezers. There's a moment's struggle before it dawns on her.
"Wait, isn't he the one..."

"Right..." Chrissie honestly doesn't even know McKnight that well, but well, she talks to Pen and the rest of them. Gossip gossip gossip. She's not entirely sure what to make of all of this. She is a little curious though. She lays down her work, carefully, and wanders, barefoot, out into the shop to see what's up.
Kittyhawk - August 24, 2011 09:47 PM (GMT)
Perriwinkle is examining some quartz crystals and Damien and Lilac are in the small section of 'new age' books browsing.
mouse - August 24, 2011 09:49 PM (GMT)
"Why don't you go get a coffee or something?" Chrissie suggests to Jordie. "I think I'm done working for now. I can help these people if they need anything..." Don't worry, it's her shop, she is competent of running it. She turns her attention to Periwinkle. "Can I help you find anything?"
Kittyhawk - August 24, 2011 09:55 PM (GMT)
"Is it just these clear and smoky quartz varieties you have, or do you happen to have any rose quartz?" Perriwinkle asks.
People are always underestimating Perriwinkle too. She looks nothing like her father. She looks rather petite and Asian, though there is a bit of similarity in facial structure with these three. Lilac to be honest could more easily pass for being Chrissie's sister than Perriwinkle's.
mouse - August 24, 2011 10:00 PM (GMT)
Chrissie wanders over to look at the display of crystals. Jordie seems to have been rearranging things again. Chrissie's not entirely sure why. Something about resonance. Honestly they just look like hunks of rock to Chrissie so she's not fussed.
"There should be," she muses. Okay, maybe she's not competent to run her own store. Jordie and her damnable rearranging. "Let me have a look..." she glances around.
Kittyhawk - August 24, 2011 10:05 PM (GMT)
If only Perriwinkle knew things were arranged by resonances. She'd be able to triangulate and figure out where the rose quartz is. She waits patiently though.
Over by the books Damien and Lilac are have a quiet conversation about one of the book authors.
mouse - August 24, 2011 10:13 PM (GMT)
Chrissie's got a reasonably good selection of books. Some of them are total crap, even. Some of them are written by people who genuinely know what they're talking about. Some of them are perfectly normal.
"Oh, here we go..." she's just found a stash of coloured quartz on the shelf with all things erotic. What even.
Kittyhawk - August 24, 2011 10:25 PM (GMT)
"Oh, I suppose that makes sense." Perriwinkle blushes.
Damien and Lilac are oblivious.
mouse - August 24, 2011 10:27 PM (GMT)
Aw, cute. Chrissie's a sucker for blushers. She winks at the girl. "Edible body paint to go with that? Sorry... Anything else I can help you with?"
Wait, that didn't sound any better. Fail Chrissie. Fail.
Kittyhawk - August 24, 2011 10:30 PM (GMT)
Perriwinkle giggles but shakes her head. "Don't think I'll buy edible body paint while on a day trip with the old man." She says still red. The girl is cute. She's seventeen.
mouse - August 24, 2011 10:33 PM (GMT)
"Well," Chrissie would be so blushing if she could blush. She looks around for a quick escape, "uh..." wait, what was she thinking? Hmm. She's forgotten. She turns and pounces on Damien instead. "Very interesting book..."
Kittyhawk - August 24, 2011 10:34 PM (GMT)
"Mmm Henry Dodgeson is a bit eccentric though." Damien says of the author. Lilac just rolls her eyes. The guy is on a strictly chocolate pudding diet, creditable authority on tantric magic or not.

Odessa may have a future in writing. Too bad she wants to be a crime lord.
Chrissie is still a bit flummoxed. She should have stayed in back where it was nice and safe. Damien doesn't even seem particularly scary. Then again Chrissie's not the world's greatest character judge. Just look at her exs. Well. Not that they've survived well.
"Uhm, yes, well..." she considers, "I wouldn't, personally... eat... that much pudding..."
Kittyhawk - August 24, 2011 10:49 PM (GMT)
"Dairy is dubious." Damien says. Damien may be almost as picky as Chrissie. How his daughters are normal is a wonder.
mouse - August 24, 2011 10:49 PM (GMT)
"Very," Chrissie agrees. This is a safer topic than anything to do with sex and that girl.
Kittyhawk - August 24, 2011 11:00 PM (GMT)
Damien's kids do not believe him about this. Then again they eat like normal human beings. Damien eats beans, sprouts, and protien shakes. He's learned the hard way.
He isn't quite brazen enough to check Chrissie out with his kids on hand but well, the girl is cute.
mouse - August 24, 2011 11:03 PM (GMT)
Chrissie is cute. Or rather, Chrissie's somehow charismatic. And she is wearing a very teeny tiny white denim dress. It has buttons all the way down. "Well, let me know if you guys need any more help..." she offers, keeping her eyes on the bookshelf.
Kittyhawk - August 24, 2011 11:10 PM (GMT)
"We'll let you know. Thank you." Damien is very polite.
mouse - August 24, 2011 11:11 PM (GMT)
Chrissie retreats hastily to the back room and poor Josh.
Kittyhawk - August 24, 2011 11:14 PM (GMT)
Josh who occaisionally steals a look out there. "Seems normal, but creepy at the same time." He offers.

This describes half of Bayfield. The other half is simply recognizably creeptastic.
