Title: One more...
General Tao - January 2, 2004 06:45 PM (GMT)
That's what he used to tell himself. Just one more, just one more! But soon his unearthly addiction would push him for more, and soon 'one' would become many. So on Vaughn Hayes' short line of mortal years he eventually embraced his constant dependency on magic, the fact that he was completely, utterly, and hopelessly addicted to it's power. He was, despite his appearance and the way he acted, very, very intelligent, and an excellent manipulator. Yet today he was feeling needier than ever...The city was chock full of magics, but all of these magics seemed to be avoiding him...
He walked lazilly down Elm street, his hands in his pockets, murky green eyes scanning the area for any obvious signs. Of course, a human eye could never really detect anything magical, but also being a mage for a good portion of his life, Vaughn, feeling excited desperation, stopped in the middle of the sidewalk. This sudden stop was met with grumblings, but Vaughn didn't seem to hear them, as his hands came up in front of him, as if placing his fingertips against a brick wall. The walkers of the sidewalk coming towards him gave him looks of judgement, but what were they to him? In a matter of seconds he had done a complicated twist of his left hand while his right hand seemed to be writing on the air. A smile began showing on his pale lips as he felt his own magic working. Soon his green eyes became darker, just a shadow darker, nothing fancy. This spell allowed him to see magics in people, it was a old spell, one he had found, memorized, and then returned before anyone knew.
And now he began looking around, eyes enforced with magic, for his next hit.

Faith walked down a packed Elm street. Her head bent low, eyes staring at the gum covered ground with rage. She mumbled angrily at passers-by but quietly so they could not hear. She continues to mumble at herself
"No-one today. Why does no-one want to buy anything from me? What's wrong with my shop? What?"Her own voice then replied to her"Nothings wrong,it's just these people, they don't know good things when they see them. Look at them"
Faith looked up at all the shoppers. Carrying bags laden with trinkets and other mindless things. She grumbled again. An elderly woman laid a hand on her shoulder and Faith realised how mad she must look. The woman asked if she was OK,Faith did not answer and moved on down the busy street.
She walked upright now, trying to look perfectly calm and ordinary. Though her mind was reeling. What had she been doing? Was she going mad? She hoped not,mad people where not hugely liked.
She saw Vaughn moving his hands strangely and her eyes widened for two purposes. Firstly, she hoped she had not looked that crazy and secondly he looked really crazy. She questioned talking to him but threw that idea away as soon as it came. Instead she simply stared at him like he was a hypnotist.

Vaughn had only just finished the simple spell, his eyes roaming, when tons of magics popped up in front of him. It was a dull glow around a person's form, the brighter, the more powerful. He grinned widely, his eyes drinking up their auras as if it were the actual magic he so wanted. Eventually his (now darker) green eyes landed on a dark-haired woman standing not far in front of him. His smile faded a bit as he saw the strange look in her eyes...Had she seen him cast the spell? Oh well. But she had a pretty strong aura as well, pretty strong indeed... His smile widened as his breathing became faster.
He walked over to her, almost tripping and bumping in to a few people. "Hi..." He said breathlessly, his hands turning in to fists at his sides. Quietly at his sides his right hand wrote in the air downwards, while his left hand did the same complicated twist. His eyes lightened, but quite unnoticeably. "I...um...I'm...I'm Vaughn Hayes..."

Faith's eyes widened with fear as Vaughn approached but she calmed herself and replied to him in a slow, soft voice as she feared very much for his sanity,
"H,h,hello Vaughn. I'm Faith Silven. A,a,are you OK?"
She bit her lip and looked around, hoping nobody would see her with this apparent madman.
((I mean no offense to Vaughn, general tao, in saying he s a madman, 'tis just Faith's thoughts))

(( Aha! No I LOVE it!! Keep it up! Vaughn practically is insane, don't worry about it! :) ))
"Fine...Just uh...Just fine. I was wondering, Faith Silven, if you could give me some of your magic?" Vaughn's eyes grew serious as the hands at his sides began their ritualistic clenching and unclenching. The 18 year boy wasn't surprised that Faith seemed uneasy, after all, he was partly aware of how he acted...It was just that...He had only just arrived in this city, which seemed to be a large table set out for him with all sorts of tasty magics. Most powerful Gods and Goddesses were concentrated in this very city, and even his trips around the many cities of the world could not offer up such treats. He wondered why such magic seemed to be focused in one city, but was powerfully distracted by his needy addiction to actually begin philosophizing.

((Faith's an uninitiate (and a Lycanthrope) I don't know whether you know this but I'm gonna carry on anyhow))
Faith frowned. 'Magic? This guy certainly is demented, magic does not exist'Thought Faith at his words. She stared at his hands before returning her eyes to his face. Again she spoke to him softly and slowly,
"Are you sure you are fine? Because magic does not exist. Are you on any medication? Is there any family I should call? Are you lost?"
General Tao - January 4, 2004 11:50 PM (GMT)
(( I read Faith's profile...I thought it would be fun like this. :) ))
Vaughn's dark eyebrows puckered slightly as these strange string of questions came out of this woman's mouth. What was she talking about? Magic doesn't exist? Sheesh, he could have very well asked her the same things. Then it hit him...
"Oh...You don't know" he said, nodding softly, his hands continuing their clenching and unclenching, "Oh- I see. Sorry." He nodded to her politely, but it seemed he couldn't budge. His mind was working again...He could easilly take some of her Lycan magic without her even realizing what that sensation was...He knew the ancient spell...He could do it...Of course, when he took magic, it didn't make her any less magical...Magic is self-regenrating.

((Oh right. I read Vaughn's profile too, well scanned it anyhow))
Faith had to restrain herself from pulling a face. 'Yep,this man is as crazy as a bald man with a hairbrush' she thought nearly bursting out with laughter. But she kept her face straight. Again she spoke in her speaking-to-possibly-mad-people voice,
"Of course I don't know. Now, I have a shop down the street. Shall I take you down there so we can get you sorted out? Maybe call family?"
Faith pointed down the street to Rainbow Rooms and took a step towards it. She was in no hurry to get home, even less than usual infact because she and Dillan had had an argument, but she did not like wasting time.
General Tao - January 6, 2004 10:52 PM (GMT)
"Oh no, thank you...My family isn't here, anyways. But...um...Thanks?" Vaughn was itching for magic. All he needed was a small little bit...It wouldn't hurt her. Well, it would maybe feel a bit strange...tingly, and maybe she'd feel weak. Then again, Vaughn had never been subjected to the ancient spell himself, so he was reluctant. Vaughn began examining her as if she were the madman, unsure if she was simply acting strange to ward him off, him with his addiction. Or perhaps she really, truly, didn't know...Poor Lycan.

Faith stood rather awkwardly, not knowing what else to say. Her eyes absent-mindedly watched some people saunter past. She then fiddled with her fingers for awhile before speaking in a slightly squeaky voice,
"Well, is there anything you'd like me to do for you?"
((Terribly sorry that's short, I could think of nothing else to say. Kinda like Faith))
