Title: First Shift in a New Place
Description: (intro char post)

Echo - October 17, 2005 07:40 PM (GMT)
Lyra stopped suddenly, breath coming out harsh into the chilly night air. She was sure she heard foot steps, maybe she was just being paranoid. She was just being paranoid. The direcion from where her phantom sound came from was upwind, meaning she could smell whatever 'it' was that was following her.
Although, she couldn't smell anything but the damp air, the creaky musty wood, a thin tang of sap and the buffet of other smaller creatures her mind already catagorized and marked as a known beast. Such as racccon, squrriel, lizard, bat...But then again, her wolf nose was always better than when in human form.
No, She told herself, she was just being paranoid.

But who wouldn't be? Well, she had to rephrase that. Who wouldn't any new werewolf trying to find a spot to change be paranoid?

Lyra winced, and continued walking down the dark path, her nose the only one guiding her, following the deer scent. No, she wasn't going to hunt a deer, she wasn't stupid. She'd waste to much energy to try to catch a deer by herself. Lyra stopped again, listening for sounds, then breathed deeply, shutting that slow creeping feeling of being alone away. She couldn't think, talk, or even open to it. She knew once she did she would never be able to close it again.

A few more mintues of walking, and she stopped, glancing around for the right spot to hide her clothes and prepare herself for the change. Lyra slung her bag down, one that held extra clothes, in case of her current set ending up mussed from her forest romp.

She hesitated for a second, uncomfortable changing in such a strange place. She wasn't even sure it was clear of prying eyes. What if in the middle of her transformation, someone came walking by? She would be helpless!

Lyra sat and hugged her knees, thinking to her earlier thoughts. About werewolves in general. She wasn't even sure there were many werewolves. She was one, and the one who bit her, but what about anybody else? There had to be some, she was so sure...

(please, anyone feel free to join, Me and Lyra are new so....I don't really know anyone...)

K-Squared - October 18, 2005 11:19 AM (GMT)
Sure she was being watched. Why shouldn't Bors watch her. He had been minding his own bear business skittering and scampering around in the chill night air. He'd been as playful as a cub, he loved this time of year when the weather changed.

So he'd been playing, then he'd smelled her. He wasn't quite sure what she was. She wasn't wholly human, he could tell. It was harder for his bear brain to work out what her smells were. He certainly wasn't going to change back to human just to make a determination either. If he needed to get away quickly, he could run much faster in this form than he could in his human form. Bears also have much better defenses than men do.

He'd moved deeper into the woods as she'd moved. She was acting suspiciously for a human, so it made sense to keep clear of her, and remain aware of whatever was going on here.

Echo - October 18, 2005 08:24 PM (GMT)
Lyra's hackles alarmed her brain, her growing suspicsion finally convincing her ever-worried self. But it was too late. What ever creature what watching her, even if it might be only a common forest dweller, flicked the faucet of fear on in Lyra.

She tried to slow the painc, but it only made her muscles bunch up and cramp harder. In the last moments of coherant thought, Lyra shed her backpack from her back and threw herself to the ground arms in front. She was on her hands a knees, gasping as the change burned painfully in her limbs. Her gut started to unwind, her spine widening. A low moan of utter pain broke the light cricket chatter of the night, and Lyra breathed heavily.

Fur started to grow, and her limbs yanked and resnapped the loose bones into place. Fear burned her brain, with the shame as she felt another watch her. She really couldn't help it. She had procrastinated her changing eversince she first came to the city. It was for a numerous reasons, but the biggest being she just feared doing so in a new place.

A loud ripping sound startled her, and her body wretched itself up. Her aching head forced her back down, low to the ground.

In a blind moment, she was done, over with the change, in a heap of torn clothing. Her fresh brain, and refreshed body, slowly rose to her paws. She sniffed the air, wolf nose highly more accurate than human, started twitching madly sorting and cataloging scents.

She stretched her her front legs out first, then leaned forward to stretch her hindlegs.
She felt relieved of the pain, and was excited to get moving. Although...Another scent, one of a familiar large creature was near-by. And of a pressing matter...

K-Squared - October 18, 2005 08:36 PM (GMT)
Bors got what was going on rather quickly, even if his bear brain wasn't as supple as his human brain. /he remained perfectly still. Sudden movement through the forest would only increase the fear he already smelled. Bors wasn't anything to be afraid of. Fearin the other though, would kick a surge of adrenaline to the beast. The bear didn't want a fight. He had no business with wolves, trout and berries, sure, wolves, not at all.

Now that he knew what was going on, it might be best if he slowly figured out how to get out of here without causing undue alarm. Unlike most Were's Bors had control of his shifts. He'd been born that way. It made a lot more sense for him to get out of here and make his way back to his truck parked on the edge of the conservation area, than to stay here and possibly have a conflict with the she-wolf.

But how exactly he was going to get away from here, he didn't know. He beagan to slowly move throguh the forest, no matter how careful he was though, he could not be quiet. It was as if the act of trying to be quiet made him even noisier.

Echo - October 18, 2005 09:01 PM (GMT)
Lyra's ears turned sharply to the rustling through the forest. The bear wasn't far away, yet She didn't have much desire to deal with a bear. He was leaving, giving signal that he had no business with her.

But his smell intrigiued her. A challange formed in her mind. To see if she could put such a creature of the run...She could out run him, if needed to...or so she hoped.

Lyra swung out to the bear's left, leaping and winding through the forest under growth as easily as a hare might. She couldn't see the bear quite yet, but she knew where he was, with her sense of smell, and her ears. She had put her self upwind, even though it wasn't all that windy, but just in case.

Lyra nearly halted run when she remebered how suddenly she had dropped her fear. Maybe the concept of her watcher just being a bear lessened her worry, or mabe because as a wolf, she was in less danger. Not many night predators would prey on a wolf as readily as a female human.

K-Squared - October 18, 2005 09:14 PM (GMT)
While Bors doesn't prey on anything bigger than salmon in most cases, he will defend himself. At being hemmed in, and shadowed, he stops. He had been content to move away, but if the wolf sought conflict, he would not be the coward. Cowardice afterall is a detestable quality. The meekness of Bors should not be mistaken for cowardice.

Warily the bear slowed. He sniffed at the cool night air to be sure where the wolf was. Theough he hadn't scented her, he could hear her. She was too large to be one of the coyotes that might be found in this part of the preserve, so he knew her tread.

He stood poised and waited. Just becuse he was ready for nearly anything didn't mean he would be aggressive. He wouldn't attack unless attacked first. He was in no mood to be persued like a whipped dog either. Hopefully this she-wolf stalking him only wanted to settle some inner curiosity of her own, and not to challenge him. Bors didn't like fighting, usually if he was forced to it resulted in killing.

Echo - October 19, 2005 01:46 AM (GMT)
Lyra was enjoying running through the forest, nearly forgetting what she was running parallel to. She check the pace of the bear again, tempted to see if it would move further. But there was no pace. No more lumbering. Her lungs panted lightly, excited with the air. He'd stopped. The big bear stopped.

This shocked Lyra enough to leave her standing there a few moments. Had her quarry done this before? No, but had her quarry ever been a bear before? No.

She'd only read about them in books. Encountering one was foreign to her. So did she really know how bears acted? No. Man, tonight was a new night to learn things, she thought, taking a few tentative steps to her right, retracing her path. It wasn't long before she was trotting a bit, back tracking every so often to make sure his scent was there. Yes, he was straight ahead, through brush and a few trees, but she was certain.

A low whine trickled out of her throat, a question most produced by pups. She wasn't exactly a pup, but her mood was reckless like one. Luckily, she'd keep her distance from this bear, already it wasn't acting as she expected it to, meaning she should be even more careful.

A stalking lesson came into play, maybe she could stalk? Try her skill against another equal?

K-Squared - October 19, 2005 02:05 AM (GMT)
The bear waited, aware of the she-wolf still. It was possible, she really didn't know what she had scented, She hardly seemed at ease with her transformation. It was possible she had not been born into her condition, possible that the animal world was second to her, as the human world was to Bors. He had been born a bear. He was mostly bear even when in human form, but never was he wholly either of his forms. It hadn't been thus since he was but a cub.

She was backtracking now. So she had figured out he'd stopped. He still waited patiently, yet still ready should she become a threat. He was in a broody mood. He had been having fun till she'd turned up. Why was it whenever he relented to taking some play time in this form something always happened?

Echo - October 20, 2005 01:45 AM (GMT)
Lyra hunkered down, ears swivelling madly in all directions, to avoid ambush by any daring creature, and waited. She didn't know if this would work, remembering that with predator to predator, instinctual senses somehow could tell when one was being watched.

Also, this was a bear. Her thoughts kept running on the fact she had never run into one before, and how dangerous this was to be taunting one. Her body started to quiver slightly from the excitment, muscles clenched tight with the anticipation.

Slowly, as if her body understood the movement far better than her mind, took one paw, lifted it, making no sound. She turned it in midair to slide through the thick brush, and set it down again with the barest breath of crinkling leaves.

She reapeted this process for a few more steps, eventually picking up her rhythm. She wasn't very far from the bear at all now.

K-Squared - October 20, 2005 02:03 AM (GMT)
Now he could smell her, and close. He hunkered into a more defensive crouch. He wanted to be able to use his long forpaws to reach and swat should he come undere attack. A wolf he knew, attacking him alone, would attack and retreat in order to bleed him and wear him down if it came to a fight.

He hoped this wouldn't be a fight, he'd get hurt no matter what the outcome, and so would his opponent. Bors truely didn't like the notion of violence. A hunt was one thing but a wolf and a bear did not belong in eachother's food chain. It was unnatural, like so many human things. Unnaturalness troubled Bors, it unsettled his mind, and frustrated him.

Echo - October 20, 2005 02:22 AM (GMT)
Lyra started to panic again. Or maybe it never left. Either way, she was confused at the situation. The bear wasn't moving. He was waiting for her. Lyra thought to change tactics, doing this game this way would not move this bear.

She pulled back, less quiter this time, and started to run in a circle to her right. It wasn't very fast, giving as she was thinking as well as keep track of the bear's position. When she had gotten a little further away, she slowly zig-zagged closer and closer to the bear.

Lyra stopped. Her heart thudded as her adreniline increased ten-fold. There, not more than thirty feet away, was the large dark shape of the bear. She couldn't see it clearly, wolf's eyes not being the absolute best, but the bulk and the smell was enough to convince her.

Lyra just stood there, quivering with excitment, ready to run and the instant this bear moved. Right then and there, she felt so exhilerated. Being able to come upon such a creature nearly had her howling with delight. In this moment, all hatred and all stubborness she had against becoming a werewolf held not a sliver of her thrilled soul.

K-Squared - October 20, 2005 03:37 AM (GMT)
Bors snifed theari at the second approach. What was going on here anyway? Was he being toyed with? He certainly felt that way. He held his ground and gave a low curious snorty sounding half growl. "Garrrruuuummmmph." It tapered off into a sigh. It was more curious sounding then threatening.

He waited to see what the she-wolf was up to, still ready for anything.

Echo - October 21, 2005 02:19 AM (GMT)
Lyra jumped back playfully at the growl, slapping her forepaws on the ground with her rump still in in the air. Her tongue lolled out and a split second later, she took off, weaving in and out of the brush and trees, distancing her self from the bear, then started to loop around back towards him.

Lyra didn't quite know what she was doing. Her rational side wanted to leave the bear alone, fo find a nice juicy rabbit to stalk. But another deep longing in her wanted a companion. She shoved the longing to the wolf side of her, not wanting to claim the deep need to her human side, the one before she was bitten.

(sorry...don't have much of an idea here...)

K-Squared - October 21, 2005 03:29 AM (GMT)
He was being toyed with, at least not in the way a meal would get toye with. This seemed much more like being toyed with by a bored pup. Still even pups could be dangerous. He decided on his corse of action when she looped back around yet again.

Bors feeling like he was a big boy, decided he'd play along. With another snort he took off after the wolf in a playful fashion tearing into the underbrush after her. He wasn't quite sure about the game, was it tag or simply chase? Keep away, or hide and seek.....He didn't think about it much at all instead he just kept chasing.

Echo - October 21, 2005 09:46 PM (GMT)
Lyra darted to the side, a bit stratled at the sudden playfulness of the bear, yet didn't slow in a step at all. She actually sprinted in a larger circle around the bear, tail flailing trying to keep her body balanced. Her eyes narrowed to keep the brambles from plucking at her eyes.

She was feeling exilerated, all human troubles gone. Not one could distrub her now, except with need to find her backpack with her clothes. But that would be later tonight.

Now, she was having fun running to try to run on up from the bear from behind. She knew she had to be carefull, overwise the bear might swing an unwanted paw.

K-Squared - October 21, 2005 10:00 PM (GMT)
Playtime, or so it seemed to Bors. He wouldn't play too rough with the she-wolf he did have that advantage of size and strength here even if she was more fleet of foot.

He bounded joyfully after her through the under brush. It wasn't often he got to play with anyone in bear form, he'd have to be careful not to spook her.

Echo - October 23, 2005 05:46 PM (GMT)
Lyra heard the large bear start to come after so she took off in a straight line north, not exactly knowing where the direction would take her, but simply just to run. When a significnt distance she thought enough was run, she slowed, then turned to start heading back towards the direction she came.

OOC:(again, I apologize no inspiration here)

K-Squared - October 23, 2005 11:41 PM (GMT)
The werebear didn't anticipate the sudden change in coarse he was just running along in a rather good mood. Just a little game of chase, till he ran into the she wolf who had now changed directions. Because he tried to avoid her to late, he only slightly impacted her, but he was unable to avoid a somewhat large oak tree.

He sat in front of the tree on his haunches shaking his head dazedly and grunting softly. What had just happened again? He wondered.

Echo - October 24, 2005 03:50 AM (GMT)
Lyra was also unexpected with running into this great bear. She thought she'd smell, hear, or at least see him! But, now that she realized as she sat on the ground grumpily, she was upwind and wasn't paying attention. And seeing him? Heh, his bulk blended in perfectly with the night's surrondings.

Lyra slowly got back to her feet, whining a bit in her throat about the crash, then sniffed the air. It was out of habit to sniff the air. And boy, was she glad she did. She scented human. Not just one human, but a couple. And they were near by. Lyra's throat started up a soft growl, warning to the bear as much as she was annoyed that she didn't catch it eariler. What would humans be doing way out in this deep of forest?

Lyra's first thoughts were party humans. Ones that got drunk and came out to the woods to "make love". She snorted this idea, but kept it an option. If so, she wanted to have some fun scaring these intruders.

She looked over at the bear, wondering how she could tell this creature about the humans. She didn't know what the bear really was. She didn't know what to do at the moment. She sat on her haunches look confused.

K-Squared - October 24, 2005 11:33 AM (GMT)
The bear gave himself another shake and sniffed himself after hearing faint sounds. He rose to his feet shaking his head more. He made a noise that sounded very human, at least from a bear. It was a wuffling yet exasperated "Hurumph!"

He was indeed now aware of humans, there was another familiar smell that clung in the air as well, but his bear mind could not place it. The bear made what looked like a shruggin motion. He wasn't sure what to do about it. The only thing he wasn't worried about was hunters, hunting wasn't permitted in the conservatory.

He gave a gentle snort to the she-wolf and then made a gesture that might seem to indicate she should follow. He didn't know if she would. He slowly made his way to higher ground and a rocky outcropping that gave a wide view of the nearby terrain. He scanned for people from there. He chose the place he did, because it couldn't be observed from the lower ground.

Echo - October 28, 2005 02:26 AM (GMT)
Lyra snapped her head around to gaze at the bear strangely when he made his grumped sound. Her ears kept track of the humans, their slow but steady progress through the night woods, while she tried hard to study the bear through the darkness.

Something about the bear, a hint, or maybe the way he moved, made him seem more than another animal, or another being. It even frightened her a bit of what she observed of the bear. Human-like attitude, or at least enough to be recognized by another human.

She was doubtful of her assumptions, but when the bear half motioned her to follow, her neck fur bristled. Something was not right about the situation.

She let it go and followed him to the high out crop, keeping several paces behind and to the side. He'd been trustworthy so far, so she didn't want to want to press. Besides, actual humans were more of a concern than human qualities.

She observed the lower ground also, eyeing for any unusual shaking of thinner trees. Her ears had the humans nearly down to a pin-point in direction, but her nose was lagging behind. It couldn't pick-up there scent anymore, reasons at the moment unknown to her. She looked back at the bear, and before she knew to think of the bear's reaction, she swung her muzzle and jabbed at the air in the direction of which her ears told her were the humans making way.

K-Squared - October 28, 2005 02:43 AM (GMT)
the bear turned his head slowly sniffing. The humans smelled of alcohol. It made him wary, they could be out here for any number of reasons and he'd rather not encounter them, or have them decide to look around out here. The trouble with that was they might well encounter the she-wolf's things. He had seen what she'd done after all. He knew here things were in the little thicket where she'd shifted.

No telling what kind of ideas these "people" might get if they came across the stuff. He snorted again. He could hear the humans moving closer. They were past the area where her things had been now, had they found any thing? Or were they oblivious? He was hoping for oblivious.

He watched and waited ready to hightail it out of there it need be.

Echo - October 28, 2005 11:01 PM (GMT)
Lyra noted the twitching of the bear's nose, confirming he also smelled them and lyra turned back to the overlook. Maybe she should go now. Get away from the humans, maybe say good day to the bear.

Honestly though, she didn't want to leave. She liked the company of the bear, strange as it was. It was as almost as if he understood her, even if only a little.

Her things! she forgot her things! The intruding people! Lyra yipped loudly at her own ignorance and dived from the rock out cropping, tearing through the forest to get to her things. The humans, drunk might do some stupid or- she couldn't even think, just a pure anger bubbled to her. They were hers, they were not to touch them!!

Lyra skidded to a halt, eyes wide open in disbelief. Two humans, one male and female, entirely obilvious to the surroundings, were on her clothes. They were using them as a blanket to put on the forest floor and were lying on it.

Naked.

K-Squared - October 28, 2005 11:11 PM (GMT)
Drunk people.....no telling what they'd be prone to do. The bear watched the she wolf tear off in their direction. He followed though with a great deal of caution. His human mind was near entirely surfaced. He sighed and moved past the little clearing where the wolf stood looking at the trespassers. He took off at a quick lope.

It took him about ten minutes to reach the area where he'd left his tow truck. What a mess this night was turning into. What's worse, he'd just started to have fun!! He gorwled and shifted with an ease gained after a lifetime of such transformations. He pulled on the jeans he had in the truck but nothing else in spite of the nip in the air.

And then he drove the tow truck into the woods. Hopefully it would spook the drunks more than the she wolf. He honestly coud only guess. After only a few minutes of reacklessly driving over the wooded terrain his headlights lit up the little clearing from about ten feet away. He didn't pull any closer. HE left the tow truck running and climbed out.

Where was everyone, he let his eyes adjust to the light and assess the scene.

(if you hate the direction I've taken I can easily edit)

Echo - October 28, 2005 11:23 PM (GMT)
(no, it's great, it be good to get some in dialogue too)

Her fur stood on end, and a deep rumbling started drumming, and it was a full second before she released it was her own throat. The couple didn't hear the growling until it had grown loud enough to echo in her cavernous mouth.

The female looked up, and made a little whimper, frozen half in petrified shock at Lyra's appearance.

Lyra's mouth dropped open and her head lowered as the male spun up around to see the wolf. He started to stutter in shock and jumped up.

Just then, a loud thunderous sound came through the forest, and Lyra darted, startled by the noise. Headlights flooded the area, casting drastic shadows that Lyra slipped through getting a good distance away. The two people grabbed Lyra's clothes off the grounds to cover themselves and dove behind a convenient bush.

K-Squared - October 28, 2005 11:33 PM (GMT)
Bors started yelling in his gruff and rumbling voice, he was loud even over the truck's engine. He managed to sound as intimidating as he looked this night. "What are you kids doing out here?" he snapped striding recklessly into the thicket they hid in. "Where did you get those things? Those are my daughter's things? what have you done with my girl?" he demand in a furious tone. It was all lies, but he had to have some reason to know the clothing didn't belong to them and so that had been what he'd come up with on the fly.

"Damned kids, a decent man can't even get a decent nights rest with out kids running off to screw in the woods. Now where's my girl, before I use the raido in the truck to call the cops, HMMM?" he grumbled at them loudly.

The male was stammering he didn't know and dropping things rather quickly. The girl was by now crying and trying to tell big scary Bors there had been a wolf. "Yes wild animals live in the conservation area, that's why it's a bad place for sex....." he said wih irritation. "Where the heck are your own clothes?" he snapped testily.

Echo - October 28, 2005 11:56 PM (GMT)
Lyra, still a little shocked by the car, advanced slowly forward, keeping well out of sight.

The male found their own clothes and her started yanking clothes onto the sobbing female. Lyra inhaled the scents of the small clearing, the male and female which made her nose twitch...and another that made her head tilt. There was another male human, but the scent of this person was that of the bear. She shook her head, a bit of horror draining into her.

The male finished with the girl, who was sobbing harder about how wolves didn't grow that size, and a bunch of other mumbled curses and complaints.

The male put on his own jeans and was shouting very loud curses at the burly man, the confounded drink in his system making him more brave than usual.

Lyra, while pondering the new male caught another scent, and leaned forward to her left. Inwardly she smiled a great big smile seeing as wolves had a hard time doing so physically. She had found her small backpack, full of clean clothes she brought in emergencies.

The only way it cold have landed here, away from the clearing was when in the sudden shift in her change process, she tossed it aside to save it.

The couple had found her first set of clothes, which, as they were too drunk to really care, were ripped, unwearable.

(does bors have a shotgun in his truck? ;) )

K-Squared - October 29, 2005 12:10 AM (GMT)
(if you need one works for me)

The male had gotten rather cocky and defensive with Bors. Bors didn't seem to care. The girl kept insisting to the male that they really should get the hell out of here. Bors mumbled his agreement with her sentiments. They really should get out of here. He was highly annoyed by their late night intrusion of drunken debauchery.

He could smell the wolf moving even in his present form. "I'm going to call the cops, I still wanna know how you freaks wound up with my daughter's clothes all torn up like they are? I have no doubt something devious and criminal has gone on here." He said in a voice that was all snarls and jagged edges. He turned to move to the truck as if to use the radio.

What the hell would I say to the cops? he wondered silently.

Echo - October 29, 2005 12:17 AM (GMT)
(I just thought it would scare off the people, leaving us free from controlling them. :) Not that your character would actually need one, )

Lyra pulled her bag a bit further away it was hard to get a good grip with her teeth, but she managed. She had to get somewhere where she could change back, a place she wouldn't be disturbed by the humans. She hesitated, unsure that they wouldn't head this way. Maybe she'd better wait it out, as a wolf, she could run faster if they came with way, with or without her bag.

(sorry it's short)

K-Squared - October 29, 2005 12:26 AM (GMT)
The male finally relanted the took off on foot heading around the passenger side of the truck and then out through the trail the tow truck had blazed as Bors leaned into the cab. His bluff had worked. He waited till he couldn't hear them any more and breathed a sigh of relief.

He turned the truck off and climbed into the cab. Remarkable the drunks hadn't seemed to comment on him being half dressed. He pulled on his shoes and shrugged into his long sleeved pullover before climbing back out of the truck.

"So, uhm, they're gone now, wherever ya went." he rumbled gently. He didn't need to talk loud, he knew he was dealing with someone who had very keen hearing afterall.

Echo - October 29, 2005 12:45 AM (GMT)
Lyra heard the words faintly, she wouldn't have caught the human tone in she hadn't been listening.

She found a small area, and began focusing on the shift back. She clenched her eyes shut and focused on her paws.

A few minutes later, she gasped as her body started to prickle and complete her request. Sharp pain prickles inflamed fast and her brain blacked out from the pain. She woke in the next few seconds, and slowly raised to her two feet. She leaned on a tree while pulling on a pair of old, worn jeans and a long sleeve shirt. She bit her lip thinking of coming out, but she did know that her had been around while she had shifted.

This worried her. It made her feel wierd, uncomfortable. She knew that man's smell, it was the bear. No other explanation seemed logical.

Lyra shook her head and laughed at herself. Logical? After all she'd been through, logical was a word that seemed too sane for her vocabulary. Something not fit for her mouth.

She stepped out into the clearing, arms crossed, self-concious. "Hey,"

K-Squared - October 29, 2005 12:58 AM (GMT)
Bors nodded at her greeting. "This just don't promise to be near as much fun." he grumbled sullenly.

He gestured back at the truck. The logo on the doors and hood said "Big Bear Towing" and had the sillhoutte of a big bear in the center. "You need a lift back to civilization?" he offered in a low but not unfriendly rumble.

Echo - November 9, 2005 05:19 AM (GMT)
Lyra couldn't help but give a quirky smile at the trow truck. She slowly approached him and the truck, arms crossed and unsure nodding an "okay" to the question of the lift.

Oh, of course she wasn't shy or anything. She was just holding in as many questions as she could in before they all started to stream out in this one endless list of droning noise.

She was doing well, with the years of practice before the "incident" Of being bitten. A personality trait not even she could try to pin on the relatively new wolf side.

She edged towards the passenger side of the truck, when her stomach tightened and grumbled a bit with annoyance. Another quirky smile and, "Mind making an emergency food stop on the way? I have my own cash..."

K-Squared - November 10, 2005 12:34 AM (GMT)
"Emergancy food?" He chuckled reapeating it. Bors was always hungry. "We can stop, something particular you're hankering after or should I just stop at the first place with hot meals we come to?" he asked. He'd eat juts about anything.

He sat in the driver's seat and turned the truck on again but not the engine. He looked at the cellular phone on the dash and saw he hadn't missed any calls. He sighed softly and set it back down. It was earlier than he'd thought it was from what the clock on his phone said. He'd hardly gotten in a good work out in his bear form.

He waited for her to climb into the truck before starting the engine.

(sry I've been gone awhile...can't promise much more activity as well, thanks for the patience)

Lyra breathed in a deep breath, before exhaling slowly. Then she climbed into the passenger side of the truck, and placed her bag neatly on her lap. She felt dwarfed by the man, that sat next to her, but company was company.

"Any where will do, just as long as they don't raise eyebrows at how much i can eat," She chipped, her mood swinging up on a rising hill, "Being a female and all."

She was glad that she didn't need to explain. This man, recently discovered another were, would know of a endless gnawing hunger.

She pinched her inner elbow so the man wouldn't notice. Her mind skipped over at her eager questions, justing waiting for her courage to flourish...she was, compared to him, fairly new at shapeshifting in nice cool forests.

He laughed. "I think I know a place then. I'm sure it will seem like you don't eat much compared to me." his voice was very amused. Bors has been barred from a few buffets, he's awefully expensive to feed. There are though a couple that still welcome him, they figure if someone wants to eat that much of their food it's like an endorsement of sorts. He drove to one such place now.

"Hope you like Chinese." he said as he pulled in and parked.

His stomach gave a loud rumble just after his seatbelt clicked with being unbuckled.
"Scuse me." he said and he took out the keys and climbed down to pocket them.

He waited for her to get out as well.

Lyra smiled when his stomach rumbled, taking a very quick glance at hid girth and agreeing with him. No one would pay any attention to her while he would be eating.

"I guess I've only had a few chinesse foods, but not enough to really take a disliking or liking," Lyra said, finishing his question from earlier. She was beginning to feel a bit more relaxed with him.

And she proceded to walk first towards the restuarant doors.

He moved a bit more hastily to get ahead and hold the door opened for her. "Well they got some pretty good boneless bbq riblets too, if the chinese won't suit, and some decent cuts of steak usually. Part of why I love this place." he said cheerfully.

His stomach rumbled again at all the heady aromas that came out the door he held opened.

Lyra stopped sharply as he opened the door for her. Another smile started to creep up about her face and she put her head and stepped in to hide it.

"Thanks," she said as she passed him, "ribs sound pretty good right now."

She stopped only few feet within the door, the smells of delcious food smashing her nose and her mind racing to sort them all out. She exhaled to slow her confused mind then breathed in slowly and deeply, giving her brain a chance to organize. There were several platters of vegtables cooked and coat in a salty sauce, several arrays of colonge and perfumes, and a small trickle of smoke caught her nose from the smoking section. She also picked up on people's scents, either masked by deoderant, colonges or perfumes, and there were some who didn't, letting their natural body odor to waft unclogged.

She crossed her arms tighly against herself, as a shiver ran up her spine. Not a half hour ago she had thoughts about killing people like this, so weak and so easy to kill. Now she was in a building full of them. She was out of place, something they would never be able to fathom. The only thing that was standing between them and her ripping their entrails out was control. Control. Simply control and moral restraint.

Lyra shook her thoughts as a seating hostess shined a bright teethy smile in her face asking, "How many?"

"Two," Lyra responded, as she looked back, she had a strange need to get a reassuring glance from her companion.

"We'd like to sit on the far side, where I usually sit." Bors told the hostess. Who nodded. Bors gave more of a reassuring nod to his companion than a look. The hostess led them to a section of the dining room that seemed to otherwise be closed off. He sometimes had problems with claustrophobic feelings, he'd told the owner that once, and a guy as big as Bors, the owner didn't want him to feel claustrophobic. Imagine someone Bors' size having a panic attack, and I think you'll see why he gets to sit in near privacy.

"Usually the big groups that make reservations sit over here, but this late, there aren't usually any so I get to sit over here." he told Lyra with a wink.

A server walked over to them now with plates for the buffet. She looked around fifteen or so, Bors suspected she might be the owner's youngest daughter. "Can I get you drinks?" she asked softly. Bors asked for a pitcher of mountain dew, it wasn't good to drink and drive he knew.

He took a deep breath, "Rotiserrie chicken smells good." he commented.
