Title: Meeting Someone New
Description: -Reserved for Tor-

oneofmanysouls - September 5, 2005 01:35 AM (GMT)
Jasmyne was almost late for work that afternoon. She'd stayed up watching movies on cable for far too long the previous night. Darn it. She couldn't afford to be late for work. She hated dealing with her boss when she was. He could be a downright prick sometimes when 'his girls' were late for work.

She rushes through her shower and puts on her work uniform. She hates the uniforms that they have to wear. Yellow. Who ever heard of wearing yellow uniforms for waitressing? And it wasn't even a pretty yellow. It was a ghastly yellow. Ah well. She couldn't complain or she'd lose her job. She couldn't afford to lose her job.

She hurries from her apartment and heads to work.

"Hi Mary," she calls to one of the other girls as she rushes in the front door and goes to clock in. Once she's clocked in, she heads back towards the front. She picks up her order book and pencil. She's ready to go. People are coming and going all morning long. She's finding it fairly easy to keep up with it all.

The evening dinner rush has just gotten over. She continues to watch others come and go. Just when she thinks she's all caught up with taking orders, someone comes in and goes to sit at one of her tables. Off she goes heading towards it with order book in hand.

"And how can I help you today?" she asks.

Renata - September 5, 2005 01:57 AM (GMT)
"Yes, thank you. May I have a rootbeer, Jasmyne?" he'd already memorized her name, read it before she arrived completely at the table.

He was a very attractive boy, everything about him was attractive. Soft brown hair and bright, innocent, kind blue eyes looked up at her from his menu. The hair wasn't spiked, he was still in 'mourning'. Keeping with the solemn act, his clothing was dark. A dark, hunter green, long-sleeved shirt clung nicely to his frame and dark black slacks caressed his legs. Everything he wore was carefully chosen for how it would effect his image.

It was a lovely image, too.

oneofmanysouls - September 5, 2005 02:06 AM (GMT)
Indeed, he is quite attractive. Jasmyne would never stand a cold chance in hell with someone as attractive as him. At least, that’s what she convinced herself quite some time ago. Who would ever be interested in such an short, ordinary girl who is over weight anyway? Obviously no one cause she’s still quite single and hasn’t even had so much as a date in such a long time.

She writes down ‘rootbeer’ on the tablet. “Coming right up,” she says in a cheery voice. She turns from the table and goes to get it. The waitress returns a few minutes later and sets a large rootbeer on the table in front of him. “Is there anything else I can get for you?” Her gaze seems to be lingering on his handsome face.

Renata - September 5, 2005 02:18 AM (GMT)
"Thank you."

He leaned his cheek on a fist and looked innocently up at her.

"Your number?"

Is she in hell? Quite possibly getting involved with Matthew isn't the best thing, but he'll make her think she's gone to heaven.

oneofmanysouls - September 5, 2005 02:30 AM (GMT)
Holy crap. Has hell frozen over? Or has she died? Or is she merely dreaming? Either way, she’s shocked as hell that someone wants /her/ number. She can’t help but suddenly feel like a giggly school girl, but without the giggles. At least not out loud anyway.

“What’s your name first?” she says in a tone that shows she’s obviously trying to hide the ‘giggly school girl’ bit.

Renata - September 5, 2005 02:34 AM (GMT)
"Matthew."

Gods, that smile could melt butter. And he's laying his charm on, thick. There's no aphrodesiac, yet. He can tell he won't need it.

oneofmanysouls - September 5, 2005 02:36 AM (GMT)
Melt butter... mmm... it’s melting something.

“Pleasure to meet you Matthew,” she says sweetly and then writes her number on a napkin. She leans over to slide it across the table.

“I get off in half an hour...” she says quietly. Get off of work that is...

Renata - September 5, 2005 02:41 AM (GMT)
"So.." he slips the napkin into his pocket, "should I call you then or do you want me to wait? You can finish serving me, then I can take care of you?"

Naughty boy.

oneofmanysouls - September 5, 2005 02:47 AM (GMT)
Such a sweet smile on her face. Innocent in every way. Has this girl ever been kissed even?

“You can wait if you want to...” she says with a shy smile. A soft giggle escapes from her at his last question.

This girl is how old?

Renata - September 5, 2005 02:59 AM (GMT)
"Can I get some food while I wait, sweetie?"

He seems so innocent. Who can guess just how truly cruel this boy can be? What is Jasmyne getting herself into?

oneofmanysouls - September 5, 2005 03:01 AM (GMT)
Another soft giggle escapes from her before she can stop herself. Again, how old is she? Old enough to not be giggling like a school girl. Sheesh.

“What would you like?” she asks all sweetly.

Yes. What is she getting herself into? Will she ever /really/ know? Probably not. She’s just tickled pink that someone as handsome as this guy asked for her number and is waiting for her to get off work.

Renata - September 5, 2005 03:08 AM (GMT)
Well she's probably older than Matthew. He has a thing for older people. Not because of a fetish. No, he's not picky like that, but because of frequenting places where older people are prevalant.

"Tuna salad?" His voice is soft and smooth, beconning her closer to him.

oneofmanysouls - September 5, 2005 03:11 AM (GMT)
The girl is twenty one but by the way she’s gone all giggly and such, one probably wouldn’t believe it without her showing her ID to prove it.

And go closer she does. She’s standing right next to him now. When did she move? Who knows. She wasn’t paying any attention.

“Would you like that on bread...?”

Renata - September 5, 2005 03:35 AM (GMT)
"Yes darlin', thank you. White, if you don't mind."

His arm has already snuck itself around her waist. How does he do that without seeming sleezy? He still comes off as being a sweet kid.

oneofmanysouls - September 5, 2005 03:39 AM (GMT)
“Mmm...” she purrs slightly and writes it down on the same slip she’d written his drink on. “Coming right up...” She lingers there for a moment before finally moving away to go get his order.

Mary is standing in the back having a drink of her own pop when Jasmyne heads back there. “Oh my god, Mary,” she says in a hushed voice as she heads over to her co-worker. “You see that guy sitting out there?”

Mary nods.

“He asked me for my phone number... and is waiting for me to get off work...” She sounds so giggly. Mary’s already finding it hard to believe. She’s never seen Jasmyne with a guy before.

“Have fun,” is all she mutters and goes back to work.

His sandwich is done and Jasmyne heads back out to his table with it. She’s standing right next to him and leans over to set his plate down. “Hope this is how you wanted it...”

Renata - September 5, 2005 03:51 AM (GMT)
Matt only grins when he sees her going back behind the counter. He knows what she's probably doing. A lot of people do it after meeting him when he's got in his groove.

He smiles sweetly at her when he returns, already planning what he'll say if she gets cold feet. Of course, that won't happen. Not with Matthew.

"This is perfect, Jasmyne. Thank you."

Someone at another table is vying for the waitress's attention. They want to order dessert. That's ok with Matt, he already knows what he's getting after dinner.

oneofmanysouls - September 5, 2005 03:57 AM (GMT)
“You’re welcome...” she says with a blush. After a few more moments of just standing there next to him she finally goes and deals with the other table. She’s feeling all giggly inside. Poor woman.

Half an hour seems to drag sooo slowly. Some time during this, she’s paid for him food and drink. Then she goes and clocks out. She heads back over to his table and sits down in the chair next to him. “I’m done with work...”

Renata - September 5, 2005 04:03 AM (GMT)
"Wonderful," he says it so warmly, too.

It's almost amazing that he's even going to do it. With his sister blackmailing him you'd think he'd be careful. Especially since people might recognize him from school and he's still supposed to be broken hearted...

Does this poor girl even realize that she's just met this boy? And he's already treating her with such familiarity. Like he actually cares for her. Yes, this is how he caught Amber, too. Being sweet comes easy to Matthew. So does making people feel loved.

oneofmanysouls - September 5, 2005 04:07 AM (GMT)
All she can think about is that he’s so handsome and actually wanted her phone number. So, no, she’s not thinking about how she just met this boy. She’s not even thinking about how old or young he might be. She’s just thrilled to pieces that someone is actually interested in her for a change and not the prettier girls that she works with. Her.

“What do you want to do now that I’m off work?” she asks him softly. It’s almost hard to believe at the moment that this twenty one year old girl is really innocent by the way she’s flirting with him and such.

Renata - September 5, 2005 04:11 AM (GMT)
"I dunno," he shrugged, lacing his fingers together with hers, "Wanna go somewhere?"

That's ok. Innocent is how Matt likes them.

oneofmanysouls - September 5, 2005 04:13 AM (GMT)
If she was a piece of ice, she would have melted the moment his fingers intertwined with hers. She did, however, blush. Quite deeply so even. Innocent she very much is. Never even been kissed. Pretty sad, isn’t it?

“Sure,” she answers softly. “Where?”

Renata - September 5, 2005 04:18 AM (GMT)
Never been kissed, eh? That won't last for long.

"I dunno," he smiles shyly, "You're really cute when you blush."

oneofmanysouls - September 5, 2005 04:20 AM (GMT)
Yup. Never been kissed. She’s sure in for a surprise tonight, eh?

Her blush deepened even further at his words. “Want to go for a walk or something?” she asks. She’s wanting to get out of the diner at this point cause the other girls are actually starting to stare and such. They’re whispering to each other behind their hands. She’s suddenly wanting to get him away from here before he decides to ignore her for one of the prettier girls.

Renata - September 5, 2005 04:27 AM (GMT)
Oh no. Matthew wouldn't dream of doing that. If he did, he'd get labeled as an insensitive jerk. We can't have that, now can we?

"Sure, let's go." His arm slips around her waist once again after he stands up and he begins to gently lead her from the restaurant.

oneofmanysouls - September 5, 2005 04:33 AM (GMT)
The other girls probably wouldn’t think of him as such. Jasmyne would be pretty pissed at them though if his attention averted from her to them. She knows they are prettier than her. She usually doesn’t let it bother her though. So weird.

She can’t seem to stop the giggle that rises as she feels his arm slip around her waist. Any other time she would have probably pulled away because she doesn’t like anyone to feel her chubby middle. But she doesn’t pull away. Not this time. She’s too giggly.

She lets him lead her out of the diner. So willingly. Poor girl. Doesn’t have a clue. She doesn’t know what to say so just walks with him...

Renata - September 5, 2005 04:37 AM (GMT)
Matthew doesn't mind a little extra padding around the waist. In fact, he kind of likes it. He'll do anorexic girls, too, but it's nice to know some people aren't ashamed of being healthy. That's right. Healthy. Matt takes her type of chubbiness as a sign for a good amount of life.

For a while they just walk. Aimlessly wandering around the safe part of town.

"So tell me about yourself," he says softly.

oneofmanysouls - September 5, 2005 04:41 AM (GMT)
At one hundred and fifty five pounds and standing only five foot three inches tall, I don’t know if it could really be considered healthy that the girl has ‘extra padding’ but, if the boy likes it, it’s all good.

She giggles softly as he tells her to tell him about herself. “Um...” she mutters softly. “You already know my name... I’m twenty one. Work at the diner. Live in my own apartment. Don’t have a boyfriend. I like to go to the art gallery. Um...” She feels like she’s babbling.

Renata - September 5, 2005 04:45 AM (GMT)
Apartment, yes! Goldmine.

He smiles warmly at her, again, reassuring the girl. Woman.

"Ok. You know my name, too. I'm nineteen," lier, "Don't have a job. Live with my parents. Recently got out of a relationship. I like you."

Oh yes. I'm cute, like me.

oneofmanysouls - September 5, 2005 04:49 AM (GMT)
Oh gosh. Not only is he handsome but he’s a younger guy, too. Of course, she doesn’t know he’s lying about his age. What would be the fun in that?

I like you.

Holy shit. Holy shit. Holy shit. Did he really just say that? She giggles and blushes even deeper than before. Poor girl.

“Want to go have a beer at my place?” Did she really just ask that? It’s so not like her to invite someone she just met to her apartment. Shit. She’s never invited anyone to her apartment before.

She likes you...

Renata - September 5, 2005 04:53 AM (GMT)
You're playing right into his hands, Jasmyne. Right into them. They can be very gentle hands when they need to be.

"Sure, ok. Are you comfortable with that? I wouldn't be imposing, would I?" Phshaw, like he cares. But it's always good to make them feel like they have an opsion. Like they can say no anytime they want to.

oneofmanysouls - September 5, 2005 04:56 AM (GMT)
Yes. But she doesn’t know this. She’s quite the innocent one, remember?

“Yeah. No. I don’t mind at all,” she says in her giggly voice. Yeah she’s comfortable with it. No he wouldn’t be imposing.

“My apartment is just a couple of blocks from here...”

Renata - September 5, 2005 04:59 AM (GMT)
"Alright, then," he lifts her hand to gently kiss her knuckles, "shall we?"

oneofmanysouls - September 5, 2005 05:04 AM (GMT)
Oh gosh. Oh gosh. Oh gosh.

That’s what’s running through her mind as he kisses her hand. She’d probably faint if it wouldn’t end up embarrassing the hell out of her.

They walk the few blocks left to her apartment building and she leads the way inside. Her apartment is a basement apartment. She gets to apartment number Nine and unlocks the door.

When you first step into the front door, you have to go through a short hallway. There’s a door off to the right that’s the kitchen. Another off to the left that’s the closet. At the end of the hallway it opens up to the livingroom and another hallway off to the right. The bathroom is on the left down that hallway and her bedroom to the right.

In the living room is a floral sofa with a matching love seat and chair. There’s a light colored wood coffee table in the middle of the room. The carpet is a dark brown but it goes well with her furniture. Under the window is a small TV stand with a small TV on it. There’s various pictures hanging on the walls, including the one that she’d bought from the art gallery. The picture gives off quite a relaxing feel.

“I’ll grab the beers from the fridge,” she says and turns into the kitchen.

Renata - September 5, 2005 05:11 AM (GMT)
"Ok."

He settles himself down to wait on the loveseat, sitting in such a way that is both innocent and tantalizing at the same time. Should he start getting her aroused yet? No, better let her have some drink. Yes. If you haven't figured it out by now, Matthew's true motive is to get sex.

oneofmanysouls - September 5, 2005 05:15 AM (GMT)
She comes out of the kitchen with an open beer in each hand and damn near drops them both. Why? Cause he’s so damn handsome and he’s right there in her apartment. She walks over and hands him one of the bottles of beer. Part of her wants to sit next to him on the loveseat... a big part of her. But yet the other, more innocent part of her, tells her to sit on the couch. So she does. Sit on the couch I mean.

“You live here long?” Idle conversation. Oh joy. She starts sipping at her beer.

Renata - September 5, 2005 05:17 AM (GMT)
"Thanks," he smiles up at her, voice kind and uninvasive.

She sits on the couch, alright. Take things slow, then. At least for now.

"A few years, yeah. Yourself?"

oneofmanysouls - September 5, 2005 05:19 AM (GMT)
“You’re welcome,” she says with a smile.

Mmm... yes. Take things slow. Don’t freak the girl out. That wouldn’t be a good thing.

“I grew up here. Never been anywhere else. Don’t really want to be either. I like it here. Used to it I guess,” she says as she continues sipping at her beer.

Renata - September 5, 2005 05:26 AM (GMT)
Matt doesn't sip his beer, nor does he gulp it. He has a way of drinking that accentuates the lines of his throat while still managing to get healthy amounts of alcohol into his system. His eyes stay on her while he's drinking, too. Like all of his attention is focused on her, no matter what it is he's doing.

"Yeah, it's a nice place to live, I agree. So then your parents live here too, I presume? What made you decide to get a place of your own?"

oneofmanysouls - September 5, 2005 05:30 AM (GMT)
She can’t help but feel all flittery. She’s not used to having so much attention from one person put on her. She’s the type of girl that if she were to go to a party, she would be the one sitting in the back of the room by herself. No one likes to play with the boring fat girl. That’s how she looks at it anyway.

“No. My parents moved to the states. I got a place of my own cause I didn’t want to go. They moved to Arizona after dad retired,” she offers willingly. Hmm... when did her beer bottle end up nearly empty? I thought she was just sipping it?

Renata - September 5, 2005 05:35 AM (GMT)
It doesn't matter when the bottle became empty. Only that it is and what that means for Matthew. He allows a small amount of influence to wash over her, to incite things in her head and body.

"Well it's a good thing you stayed," does his voice sound..lower to you?
