Title: Specimen
Description: -Danie-

Cagey Tiger - August 15, 2005 05:09 PM (GMT)
Bo sat outside of an overpriced coffeeshop (not the Bean, which he preferred...he'd decided to go somewhere else today) on a tall stool, kicking his legs (luckily he was wearing pants today). He waved and smiled at anyone who passed, without regarding age, gender, or...anything, really. Some people smiled back (Bo looked more 'normal' than usual today), and some people just looked away and pretended he wasn't there.
People-watching was fun. Bo giggled to himself and slurped at his frozen coffee thing.

Danie - August 15, 2005 05:28 PM (GMT)
Douglas didn't smile when he was waved at. He did pause and stare for a beat too long, though. Then he moved so that he was out of the way of anyone passing by on the sidewalk, and stood next to Bo.

"Hello," he said simply, not taking his steely gaze off Bo's face.
His (I suppose it could be called) sixth sense was humming. He was getting a very interesting magical 'feel' from this... thing. Bo looked human, but it was plain to Douglas that he wasn't.

Cagey Tiger - August 15, 2005 05:32 PM (GMT)
"Hallo!" he grinned cheerily and thrusted his cup at Douglas. "Coffee? Hiiiii!" He interrupted himself to wave at a woman with a stroller.

Danie - August 15, 2005 05:38 PM (GMT)
"No, thank you," Douglas moved back as if he'd been offered rat poison and not coffee. He tilted his head slightly to one side, like a new angle would better permit him to identify Bo. What he was sensing didn't make any sense. So...

"What are you?" he asked.
Ah. The direct approach.

Cagey Tiger - August 15, 2005 06:03 PM (GMT)
"Austrian." he took the coffee back and slurped again. "And you?"
He wasn't stupid, but he thought it was rather rude of Douglas to ask his...'race' without even introducing himself first.

Danie - August 15, 2005 06:11 PM (GMT)
"You know what I mean." Douglas narrowed his eyes. The fingers of his left hand twitched and he hissed a spell under his breath,. The spell was intended to force Bo into telling him. Douglas is really not a patient man.

Cagey Tiger - August 15, 2005 06:14 PM (GMT)
Bo has...things he can do, but he is not a terribly powerful magical creature.
His eyes went blank almost immediately.
"Hybrid angel-incubus." he replied, his voice sounding strange without its usual liveliness.

Danie - August 15, 2005 06:21 PM (GMT)
"Well, isn't that interesting," Douglas mused. Angels and demons were hard enough to come by, but a hybrid of both? This opportunity was one he couldn't pass up. He held up one hand, palm out and discreetly spoke aother spell. It was virtually a copy of the spell used to subdue Petrov, but not as strong.

He stepped away, and beckoned.
"Come with me."

Cagey Tiger - August 15, 2005 06:31 PM (GMT)
He never even had a chance. He did as he was told, but he wasn't happy about it.
Even under this spell, he moved with a compact sort of grace that suggested that the spell had been a good idea-this creature was capable of moving at unnatural speeds.

Danie - August 15, 2005 06:39 PM (GMT)
He led Bo to his home, and into the basement. It wasn't often he had a live specimen like this. How fortunate that the cell that the son of Death had previously occupied was still intact. He ushered Bo towards it.
"Get in, and sit down over there, facing the wall."
Douglas had to keep the demon/angel hybrid somewhere while the preparations were made for 'studying' him.

Cagey Tiger - August 15, 2005 06:42 PM (GMT)
Bo did not like where this was going. Drawing on reserves of energy (when Bo overeats, he doesn't gain weight), he began testing the edges of the spell, wondering how best to get out from under it. In the meantime, his body obeyed Douglas' order, sitting cross-legged and facing the wall.

Danie - August 15, 2005 06:51 PM (GMT)
He closed and locked the door, sealing the wardings that still remained. They'd been left to waste away, and while they were no longer strong enough to hold in a demigod, they ought to be able to contain Bo.

Douglas disappeared into another, more brightly-lit part of the basement for a while. He wheeled out a stainless steel table, complete with restraints and a handy little surface to hold whatever intruments he might be using at the time.He checked and double checked that he had what he needed, then strode back to the cell. "Stand." he said loudly, without opening the door.
He was eager to get to work.

Cagey Tiger - August 15, 2005 07:02 PM (GMT)
Bo stood. His mind was going wild with fear, but all silently. Not for much longer, I think...

((Soshort))

Danie - August 15, 2005 07:15 PM (GMT)
Douglas opened the heavy door. He stepped back.
"Go over there. And lie down on the metal table."
He's making Bo go ahead of him, just in case the spell wears out before he breaks it. It shouldn't. But he doesn't like to take chances.

Cagey Tiger - August 15, 2005 07:20 PM (GMT)
Again, he did what he was told...plus a shiver when skin touched metal.
He was spending the time thinking, his mind racing for a way to get out. So far, he was drawing blanks.

Danie - August 15, 2005 07:26 PM (GMT)
Douglas fastened Bo onto the table - with more than just the metal and plastic restraints. He circled the demon/angel, chanting quiet spells and watching for any changes. Finally he stopped, standing behind Bo so that he couldn't be seen.

"You're concealing something." He sounded almost amused. "Show me what you're hiding."

Cagey Tiger - August 15, 2005 07:28 PM (GMT)
Out came the horns, but not the wings...Bo, with his back pressed up agains the table, didn't have room to manifest them.

((Sorry it's short again =P ))

Danie - August 15, 2005 07:33 PM (GMT)
"Is that all?" Dougas raised an eyebrow. He was sure he'd sensed something else. With a wave of his hand and a quiet murmur , he removed the spell that was forcing Bo to obey. It would be more interesting this way. "This is it?"
He flicked one of the horns with a fingernail.

Cagey Tiger - August 15, 2005 07:35 PM (GMT)
Bo tossed his head--the points of those horns are wickedly sharp--and resisted the urge to growl, turning on the charm instead.
"I'll show you the other part if you let me up."

Danie - August 15, 2005 07:38 PM (GMT)
"Very well," he said. It wasn't that easy, though. He replaced the spell that forced obeisance before undoing the restraints. "Show me."

Cagey Tiger - August 15, 2005 07:46 PM (GMT)
His eyes going blank again, he stood, unfurling his wings. They were quite large; if he'd tried to manifest them while on the table, he probably would have dislocated his shoulders.

Danie - August 15, 2005 07:55 PM (GMT)
"I see now,..." Douglas frowned. This was something of a problem. The wings were fascinating, but couldn't remain if he was going to put Bo back on the table. And if he wasn't on the table, he couldn't be allowed to move at all...

"I have just the thing."

He walked away, and returned with weighted chains and cuffs, that looked like they'd been taken from a museum exhibit on medieval torture. Actually, they were just clever replicas. He fastened them into place, one set attached to a ceiling beam, another to the floor.

Luckily(ha!) for Bo, the way this was set up meant that he'd be able to remain standing rather than suspended in the air. Douglas fastened the cuffs around the demon/angel's wrists and ankles.

Byebye, obedience spell.

Cagey Tiger - August 15, 2005 08:00 PM (GMT)
Immediately, Bo tried to break them. He opened his wings and flapped, pushing himself backwards...
No luck. All that happened was that he jerked painfully at his wrists and ankles. Sighing, he folded them close to his back again, keeping his eye on Douglas.

Danie - August 15, 2005 08:06 PM (GMT)
Douglas, as a precaution, shielded himself. He walked around behind Bo and delicately took a few of his feathers in his hand. "Interesting," he murmured. He decided to examine them up close, so he plucked them out then stored them in a small plastic bottle, which he then sealed. He'd label it later.

"You're a fascinating creature," he remarked. He was only talking because he was wondering what he wanted to do next. To Douglas - this was like being a kid in a candy store. (Only a lot more disturbing).

Cagey Tiger - August 15, 2005 08:14 PM (GMT)
If Douglas hadn't been shielded, the wing would have hit him hard in the face; it twitched rather violently.
"OW! They're just feathers, like a gull's but bigger, if you want one so badly, couldn't you just clip it? Don't have to yank it out."
He wondered if he could seduce Douglas...he didn't usually seduce anyone against their will, but these were unusual circumstances...

Danie - August 15, 2005 08:23 PM (GMT)
Anything would be worth a shot at this point.

"Mm,'" he said. He pretended he hadn't heard Bo's complaint, and turned to the metal tray, which was attached to the table. He selected a thin, sharp little instrument, and turned back around. He whispered yet another spell, with a vague hand gesture. That was meant to immobilize Bo,... from the neck down, anyway.

"Brace yourself. This will hurt. You're welcome to yell if you like."
He leaned over slightly, and began tracing out a square of skin on the lower left of Bo's front, just over the ribs, with the sharp end of the scalpel-like piece of metal.

Cagey Tiger - August 15, 2005 08:32 PM (GMT)
Understandably, he yelped. Then he wondered if the guy was a sadist (in a sexual way, you know), and if yelling would maybe help him seduce him...
But eye contact...that was important. And he could still move his head and neck.
He bowed his head as low as he coul, until his harsh, uneven breathing (gods, it hurt!) was fairly near Douglas' ear. And then he turned on the other kind of charm, the kind that amplifies a certain kind of desire...but he turned it on higher than he usually did, the intended effect being to make Douglas feel that kind of desire whether he had any to begin with or not.
"Warum...why are you doing that?"

Danie - August 15, 2005 08:38 PM (GMT)
He dug the blade in, ruining the neat red-edged square, and would have looked up to glare at Bo if he hadn't known what a stupid thing to do that would be.

"Stop it immediately," he hissed, "I can get tissue samples from you whether you're alive or dead. But if you don't stop, then you are definitely going to die. Do you understand?"

Cagey Tiger - August 15, 2005 08:41 PM (GMT)
He yelped again, louder than the last time, and switched off the current of...magic or pheromones or whatever it was that he did. Then he concentrated on trying not to scream. Douglas may take that as a yes.

Danie - August 15, 2005 08:46 PM (GMT)
"That's better," he murmured. He set to work cutting a new bit of skin, seeing as the previous one now had a nasty slash right through the middle of it. This one, he did rather quickly, removing it with a steady hand, but purposely being less careful and 'gentle' as he had been up to that point.

He went into the next room, presumably to store the sample in his freezer. Then, once again he was circling Bo and trying to think of what he would do. Originally he'd just wanted the skin and feathers. Now he wanted to really cause pain.

Cagey Tiger - August 15, 2005 09:01 PM (GMT)
Bo whimpered, tears sliding down his cheeks.
"You're...done now, you can let me go..." he said, but he didn't sound confident. He did not like this. This was bad.

Danie - August 15, 2005 09:18 PM (GMT)
"I could let you go," he said, sounding as if he was actually considering it until he added, "But I won't."

He proceeded to put his skills to use - and we're not talking nice skills, like healing. Just the opposite, really. He took his time, like this was a pleasure to be savoured for the longest time possible. By the time he was done, Bo was missing a lot more feathers. There were deliberate, even cuts down hs arms and legs, and running horizontally across his torso. The cuts that had bled too much were stitched closed, as well as some that hadn't needed stitches - just for fun. Most of it was 'surface' damage, except for Bo's wings.
Douglas had done it all by hand, except for the wings. He'd used magic to make clean breaks in both of them.

He smiled.
"I think, now, I can let you go."

Cagey Tiger - August 15, 2005 09:38 PM (GMT)
Bo bit back a snarl--there was time for anger later, but for now he was still in this madman's power, and he could be killed. He nodded meekly.

Danie - August 15, 2005 09:43 PM (GMT)
Douglas stepped a few feet back, and waved a hand to release the cuffs and chains. He checked that he was still shielded before he removed the spell that had kept Bo still. He smiled cruelly, and waved to the stairs. "You're free to go. Try not to track too much blood on the floor on your way out."

((Cue Alex...?))

SammieK - August 15, 2005 09:46 PM (GMT)
At this point, there came a knock on the door, then Alexander's voice from upstairs. "Douglas?"

This was only unusual in that Alexander usually didn't bother to knock before he came in, and lately he'd been storming into the house in a half-blind rage, because of some atrocity that Douglas had perpetrated against Keye. Today he was calm, and was here because he'd found an old manuscript with a slight variation on one of the summoning spells for Azrael.

He was considering having a student use it as part of the distraction when they actually put everything they'd been planning together, but he wanted another mage to look at it first. Preferably one with a slightly better grip on sanity than Reggie.

Cagey Tiger - August 15, 2005 10:11 PM (GMT)
Bo stood for a moment, his wings trailing limply to the ground...and then he heard Alexander's voice and pelted for the stairs for all he was worth. Yes, it hurt like hell, and he wasn't sure he'd even make it out the door, but surely Alexander would help him...

Danie - August 15, 2005 10:31 PM (GMT)
"Down here," Douglas called back, watching curiously as Bo ran for the stairs. He didn't try to stop him. He'd had his fun,... and now Alexander was here, and surely he'd have something interesting to talk about, or he wouldn't have come.

SammieK - August 15, 2005 10:37 PM (GMT)
Alexander came down the stairs, manuscript in hand...

"Bloody hell!" he exclaimed, upon seeing the bloody mess that was Bo. He dropped the book in surprise and instinctively opened his arms (and shields) to shelter and protect Bo.

"What have you been doing, Douglas?"

That's probably not what Douglas was expecting him to do...

Cagey Tiger - August 15, 2005 10:58 PM (GMT)
That was the reaction Bo was hoping for. He clung to Alexander, feeling the shields close over him, and shut his eyes. He was babbling softly in German, probably telling Alexander exactly what Douglas had been doing.

Danie - August 15, 2005 11:03 PM (GMT)
Douglas shrugged and strolled over to the foot of the stairs, his hands in his pockets.
"Adding to my collection of interesting specimens. Why?" He eyed the pair standing there, and raised an eyebrow. "Don't tell me you've picked up another stray, Alexander?"
