Title: Imprisonment
Description: for Arc *.*

It was impossible to derive sleep from the night, machines beeped, people walked noisily past and lovely roommates snored. Even with pain killers pumped into her viens causing a deep wave of drowsiness her peepers refused to get the message.

Her leg had been bandaged up quite tightly and now lay tucked beneathe the scratchy covers. She had been put in a revealing hospital gown and confined to a room with some old person. Surely this was the highlight of her early morning adventure.

Gyniena sighed into the stale air and looked out the window. A soft pitter patter of sprinkles danced in and out of the somewhat silence and with the lamplight coming from the parking lot it cast odd shadows over the walls of the room. An image flashed in her mind and she shifted under the covers. It was the first time since she was alone that she thought about the man in the alley. And it failed to improve her current situation.

Enter Wenceslas, stage left.

There had been a whole lot of explaining to do to the nurse in the office, but eventually, after much frustration, Wenceslas (who would have rather shot the nurse to relieve frustrations) had convinced her that she was a friend of the patient... who he had recently discovered went by 'Gyniena'. How interesting.

Taking careful, calculated steps, he wandered into the room where the woman lay.

He appeared as if by thin air, since his footsteps for so silent.

His face was set up with a smug smirk planted on his lips, and an odd twinkling in his deep blue eyes.

"Miss me?"

Oh if only she hadn't chunked the call button thingy at the police man as he was going for the door. Her eyes were set on the reflection of him in the window, it wasn't exactly fear behind her brown eyes, atleast she hoped not, calling it caution made her feel a smidget braver.

'I'll make sure not to.' she said softly turning to face him. Not the smartest thing to say in a situation as such but she doubted he would try anything too drastic. Forget doubted ... she hoped. He wasn't like she had pictured assassins to be. He took his prey when he could, no respect for the opponet what so ever. Perhaps if she made it to talk again after her smart little remark she wouldn't make another.

I don't believe Wenceslas has heard of the word respect, much less has it in his vocabulary, or for his opponent. He might not have respect, and he might be arrogant and vain, but what he wasn't... was stupid.

It would be stupid to do anything too drastic in a hospital. He'd get caught far too easily. So instead he settled casually on the edge of her hospital bed. "I should think," he rather purred like a cat, "that you should've learned," he traced a no longer gloved fingertip on the side of her face, "not to talk to me like that."

Gynienas eyes were all that moved as he glided over the floor to her bed. Her brown eyes were fixed on him with caution and when he sat beside her she prepared herself mentally for any slight harm he might try to cause her.

He spoke and she felt the light touch of his skin against hers. His touch was enough to make her want to fight back pain just to kick him ... and maybe take a bit out of his fingers.

'Why are you here?'

It wasn't exactly admitting to his statement, she knew he had a point ... she should have learned ... of course knowing that didn't mean she had to bend her pride to tell him. This was a point-blank question, one which she had many answers for but she wanted to hear his.

(oooh maybe he could like give her like a shot thingi since she has pain killers already. And it could like make her pass out because the two mixed or something.)

"I said I'd be back, didn't I?" The words were said soothingly, and coming from anyone else, they probably would be, but from Wenceslas, it meant nothing at all.

He smiled slightly. An odd smile, only Wenceslas was capable of. "Such a poor dear. Such a fool." His expression went from smiling to an almost blank look, and then to one of perhaps... pity. It was an act, though.

"I almost feel bad for you," he whispered into her ear, coming down to face level now.

(Oou, sounds like something he'd do.)

He was enjoying this, goddamn it, she could hear the laughter behind the soft words. She wasn't going to say anything, Gyniena was too livid and in far too much of a predictament to not hold herself back. Fool. Poor Dear. Well atleast it wasn't doll or sweetheart. Though even with that thought her fist ached to collide with his pretty face. That was the benefit of being raised by a man, you forget talking it out.

'Yeah I guess I'll repay the favor after I'm done scattering your remains to the four corners.' Of course she meant after she had gotten out of the hospital and walking once more. She turned her head slightly so that her gaze met his. Even if she was being an idiot, she wasn't about to let him have the best of her. He had an advantage and she didn't doubt he could harm her, but it was only when she was dead that she couldn't recover. And she wasn't about to let it go that far.

"Oh, will you now?" He purred again into her ear, a smug smirk set upon his thin, pretty lips. He drew back from her face, if only slightly, and his gaze locked with hers. His was a cold, dark blue gaze. The gaze of a hawk, like their piercing talons. The gaze of a stealthy, sly predator.

"That'd be incredibly fun, don't you think? I love a challenge, every now and then."

He paused to reach into his coat.

"Tell me, Gyniena." A test of her name, since he'd just found it out a few moments ago. "How do you like pain?"

demon_spawn - May 16, 2005 09:10 PM (GMT)
Gyniena froze as he said her name. It should have been a crime, something torturous, afterall it was painful enough to hear it leave his lips. Her eyes longed to lower their gaze, perhaps see how far away the call button was and maybe make a lunge for it. But she stayed still, the muscles in her body so tense it hurt just sitting there.

She suddenly noticed his hand in his coat and as a natural reaction to fear she swallowed hard, fighting back a question she dreaded hearing the answer to. Gyniena didn't even answer his own question, she didn't want to instead she pressed herself back slightly.

Arcane Blood - May 16, 2005 09:24 PM (GMT)
Out of his coat he pulled some sort of substance in a shot, that looked familiar, sort of like Novacaine. "Try not to scream, Gyniena. This won't hurt a bit.."

And in an instant, needles was applied to flesh and vein, and whatever that substance was, was now inside them (her veins).

"Have some nice dreams, won't you?"

demon_spawn - May 17, 2005 08:17 PM (GMT)
It seemed all like slow motion. She watched as the needle came towards her arm, watched as it plunged in ... so why didn't she do anything about it? The medication that had already been pumped into her system caused the world to seem somewhat cotton coated, dulling her senses and making her somewhat tired. Her body stiffened as the liquid was pushed into her viens, and she struggled.

Her heart pounded now in her chest, out of fear and out of her struggle. It didn't help her situation at all instead it only quickened it. It was only a matter of seconds before the injection took hold. Her eyes fluttered in her attempts to keep them open and the room swam in dizzying ripples. She was going to pass out with the bad guy only inches from her. God.

Her eyes lids went down and in her final attempt to keep awake she found she couldn't open them. She felt herself falling helplessly into darkness, into a deep sleep, one she hoped she would come out of.
