Title: Man eating milkshake?
Description: No, but it's big enough to be --Arcamus!

Renata - March 2, 2005 02:55 AM (GMT)
She's sitting in a booth, rather lonely looking if you're to ask one of the waiters. If you're going to ask Tori, herself, you're going to get the same answer.

Normally her friends would be joining her after a successful day at the auctioning block. They all seemed to have alterior plans, so Tori just thought she'd go it alone. However, a large milkshake just doesn't seem as triumphant if you're the only person trying to gulp it down. It actually just looks kind of stupid and gluttonous.

It's a big milkshake, too. How is she ever going to finish it?

So she's sitting there with her purple coat to the side, hair braided and back while her green and blue eyes grow larger than her stomach. A stomach clad in a very cute pink shirt, I might add.

She's rather tiny so the overall effect is somewhat funny, really. She could use some company.

Arcane Blood - March 2, 2005 03:03 AM (GMT)
Rasmus, very much also in need of company at the moment, sat at one of the booths, across for Tori, toying with a menu of some sort, unaware of how... odd he looks here. Out of place, what with his long tan trenchcoat, long black shirt, with the words, apparently sprayed on the back with yellow spray paint, in capital letters, 'BEEN THERE, DRANK THAT'. It was covered by his trench, however, so wasn't visible at the moment.

If Rasmus would've known the woman was rather lonely, he would've kept her company, since he loved cheering people up. Too much humanity, though, made him scared.

He settled for glancing her way, silver eyes magnified by thin-rimmed, silver glasses. His wine red hair was neatly kept, hanging straight against his soft face. It was a pity he wasn't smiling. His smile usually lit his face.

He sat in silence, fingering the menu, still.

Renata - March 2, 2005 03:13 AM (GMT)
She notices him enter and sit down, but she has a tendency to worry too much about being rude so she looks away before she catches his eye.

When she looks away, though, she notices that the place is full, people are waiting in line and they are the only two people sitting by themselves.

That's just not right, she thinks, I'm being selfish. Certainly there's enough room for another family to have a seat.

She makes a quick decision, hopefully not a wrong one, and gathers her coat while struggling to hold her gigantic milkshake at the same time. Tori's nervous, though. She doesn't normally do this sort of thing, but there's a perfectly empty spot next to him so she might as well take it.

"Hi there," she sits down, "hope you don't mind, but we're both alone so I thought it would be nice to have some company, what do you say?"

Unless he was waiting for someone...shit.

Arcane Blood - March 2, 2005 03:31 AM (GMT)
Rasmus was still casting a glance her way, and then he went back to the menu. It was a pity he had a lack of coial skills, or else he would've gone up to her and said something along the lines of 'hi'. He used to have better social skills, but... we shan't get into that.

He ponders, absently, why they're the only ones alone, and Monroe's is buzzing with activity. The two looked as if they were waiting for people, because their party was currently so... small.

Rasmus offered a small smile upon Vicky's arrival at his booth. "Oh no, not at all. Kinda looks funny when we're the only two people alone in the place when it's so... active."

Renata - March 2, 2005 03:35 AM (GMT)
"You know what, I was thinking the exact same thing!"

Of course she smiles back at him, he actually makes her sort of happy. Her former booth is now being occupied. Good, she smiles again.

"So what brings you to Monroe's all by your lonesome?"

And she's very slowly beginning to work on that milkshake.

Arcane Blood - March 2, 2005 04:51 PM (GMT)
"You know what they say: 'Great minds think alike.'" Rasmus was grateful for that saying, or else he would've said something unnervingly unintelligent.

He smiled politely back at her, finally deciding on something from the menu, after all this time looking through things.

"Just thought it'd be good to get out of the house, you know. Lately things have been... quite stressful." He inwardly laughs at himself for being so pitiful.

"And what's a lady like you doing alone here?"

Renata - March 4, 2005 12:43 AM (GMT)
"Me?" she stirs her drink with a secretive look about her, "Why I'm here trying to pick up gentlemen like yourself."

"Ok, so I'm not," she playfully rolls her eyes, "I just finished a big auction and was going to celebrate with some of my girlfriends. Looks like they all ran out on me, huh?"

She watches him for a moment while the waitress gets his order and politely declines when the woman turns to her.

"I guess it's sort of a good thing, though. If they'd have shown up then you would be spending your meal alone and we'd have never met."

Arcane Blood - March 4, 2005 12:56 AM (GMT)
He gives a nod, and a gentle smile, pushing his glasses back up to the bridge of his nose, where they could actually aid those pretty little silver eyes of his. Damn thing always decided to slip down the end of his nose, so he was constantly pushing them back up so he could see better.

"Pity, though, that that's not really why you're here." He stopped. He paused. He did a rewind. "Auctions? An auctioneer?" A bright, cheery little boyish smile lit his pale, freckled face.

He looks to the waitress, spouts off information, and offers a nod, a polite smile, and a little, accented by Swedish, 'Thanks'.

"Perhaps it is." The polite smile still managed to linger on his china doll looking baby face.

Renata - March 4, 2005 01:06 AM (GMT)
"Yeah, auctioneer, that's me," she says with a sort of self concious look about her as she rubs her neck.

"You don't hear about my line of work much, really."

He's actually kind of nice looking. Cute, really, with the mix of colors(silver eyes, she hopes to gods he's innish) and boyish radiance when he smiles.

"And what about you then, good sir? What do you do with your time that's got you all stressed?"

Arcane Blood - March 4, 2005 01:29 AM (GMT)
"Don't see too many of those around these days. Neat job, though. I'd love to be an auctioneer." For a young kid, he certainly has... odd tastes in jobs. Well, what do you expect from someone who works in a coffee shop? He sighed, wistfully, then quickly replaced the previous expression with a little grin.

"Me? Not my job, which does really suck. Working at a coffee shop isn't very... entertaining," he said with a simple shrug. "It's... people that get me stressed. Things." He puts an emphasis on things perhaps too harshly. But... he doesn't take too kindly to being owned by a demon... a specific thing that was stressing him in particular.

Waitress still hasn't come by yet. Still waiting for the food.

Renata - March 10, 2005 02:40 AM (GMT)
"Aah," she replies. "Don't you just hate that kind of stuff?"

She wasn't too worried about the food. The place was busy, of course there'd be some lag. He looked hungry though, a little.

"You want some of this?" she pointed to the massive shake, "Gods know there's plenty to go around." Unless, of course, he's just uncomfortably sharing something someone's already had. She thought she'd ask anyway.

Arcane Blood - March 10, 2005 02:45 AM (GMT)
"Yeah, I do." He offered a one-shoulder, small little shrug, sounding a bit nonchalant.

It was quite expected that the food hadn't come by yet. Place was busy, but that didn't mean that Rasmus wasn't annoyed at the slow progress. He wouldn't have minded so much, had he not eaten anything at all today.

"Uhm, naw, that's okay." He declined, politely. The tone was about the equivalent of a cute five-year-old little boy. "Thanks for the offer, though."

Renata - March 10, 2005 02:49 AM (GMT)
"You sure?" she checked, everyone checked for some reason. But it never hurt to make sure.

"I can't finish this thing on my own you know," then she grinned again, "Unless you're trying to give me a fat ass," she said with a twinkle in her eye and a teasing quality to her voice.

Arcane Blood - March 10, 2005 02:55 AM (GMT)
He laughed, softly, offering a slow smile. "Maybe I am. But of course if you absolutely cant finish it, I suppose we could share." Gah, women. Tricking him into things he would've naturally declined.

Renata - March 10, 2005 03:01 AM (GMT)
"Well," insert theatrical sigh here(though her face instantly smiled once her small show was through), "If we must we must!"

She made quick work of grabbing an extra straw from a passing waitress before plunking it into the chocolate goop in front of them.

"But what about today, how's it been going? I'd hate to think that Monroe's is supposed to be where you kick back."

Arcane Blood - March 10, 2005 03:04 AM (GMT)
He gave a nod, eyeing the massive-looking shake in front of him, skeptically. "Are you sure it won't eat me?" An eyebrow raise.

"Oh, you know, it's been going. Just... going. Sucks, but whatever. I was actually kind of hoping it was, but it seems to be packed."

Renata - March 10, 2005 03:12 AM (GMT)
"Yeah," she agreed, "that does suck."

For a brief moment, she got a vision of a monster sized milkshake with overly muscular arms and legs rampaging throughout Bayfield. She snorted with laughter.

"A man eating milkshake? Who'll save us poor townfolk?" she errupted into a fit of giggles again.

Arcane Blood - March 10, 2005 07:30 PM (GMT)
The vision, if Rasmus would've known what it was, would've reminded him of a thing called 'Trogdor'. Stupid internet cartoons.

Suddenly, Rasmus struck a pose, pretending to flex his muscles. "Poor town folk? Not I! I am Rasmus the Valiant." It looked completely normal, since the resteraunt was buzzing with activity. Nobody seemed to notice him.

(Gah. I'm embarrased for him.)

Renata - March 12, 2005 06:20 PM (GMT)
(heh, I'm laughing at him, don't know about you)

Well, let's keep in the spirit of things, shall we?

"Oh! Please help me, good Sir Knight! I'm locked in my tower with the horrible, feindish Milkshake of Doom!" All this being said with a barely straight face and laughter struggling to burst out of the corners of her mouth.

It's a good thing she didn't have a mouthful of the chocolate thing.

Arcane Blood - March 12, 2005 06:27 PM (GMT)
(I just think he's the biggest dork alive.)

"Oh no! I shall help thee, good princess!" And he pushed the milkshake away, as if that would kill it. He gave a little laugh. "You should be an actress or something. Haha."

And now people were staring at the two of them.

(Blarshort. >>)

Renata - March 12, 2005 07:26 PM (GMT)
An embarrased redness filled her cheeks when she noticed the attention they were drawing to themselves.

"Huh? An actress? No, I don't think so. It'd be too much of a hassle. When you're an actress you've got to memorize things. All I've got to do in my line of work is look at a sheet of paper and let people fight with each other. Civilized like, of course."

"And you," with a hint of pride in her voice, "Had my milkshake actually been attacking me I would be perfectly comfortable with the knowledge that such a galiant man would be my rescuer."

She winked at him and took a sip.

Arcane Blood - March 12, 2005 08:01 PM (GMT)
"Surely, you could memorize things perfectly well, eh?" He comment off-handedly. It was that hard to memorize things for him. Maybe it was for her, or something. "Oh, you're lucky. All I get to do in work is watch people fight over a place in line. But such are coffee shops," he gave a little shrug.

"Bah. Surely, you jest. "

Renata - March 12, 2005 08:15 PM (GMT)
"Jest? And why would I jest?" She laced her fingers together and looked at him over the top of the mountanous dessert.

"Don't you have faith that you can save me?"

Of course she was joking, but she said it with the most believable face and voice.

Arcane Blood - March 12, 2005 08:20 PM (GMT)
"Hmmm. I don't know, because you can?" He suggested, pushing his glasses back up again.

"Nah. I couldn't save you even if I wanted to."

Renata - March 12, 2005 08:23 PM (GMT)
Gasp.

"You mean you wouldn't want to save me?!"

Not that she actually believed that, but it's the principle of the thing.

Arcane Blood - March 12, 2005 08:27 PM (GMT)
Oh, shoot. "Er, I didn't mean it that way! Seriously. I meant... Eheh. You know." Oh great.

And the waitress is slacking. She's not here yet/

Renata - March 12, 2005 08:30 PM (GMT)
She had to laugh at him. He was so funny sometimes. Well...sometimes being in the few minutes since she's known him.

"Oh, it's ok. I know what you mean. Hey, that reminds me," even though you wouldn't be able to follow the logic, "I haven't told you my name yet. You said your name's Rasmus?"

Arcane Blood - March 12, 2005 08:35 PM (GMT)
A reddish color lit up his otherwise pale, and he looked away for a minute.

"Yep," he nodded. "Rasmus Bennett, the one and only." If he could've bowed, he would've. "And yes, I didn't catch your name."

Renata - March 12, 2005 08:40 PM (GMT)
She smiled as well, theatrically offering her hand like a lady should.

"Victoria Fitzgerald, at your service. It's nice to meet you, Rasmus Bennet."

"Rasmus," she mused, "that's an interesting name."

Arcane Blood - March 12, 2005 08:53 PM (GMT)
He extended his own hand and shook hers, then released it.

"The pleasure is mine, Victoria. Lovely name."

"Mm, my father was Swedish. I was named after him."

Renata - March 12, 2005 09:02 PM (GMT)
"Please, call me by a nickname or something." Then she became aware of a presence to her right.

Finally! The lady was here with the food! Not that she ordered any, but hey. Food was here and food equals good.

The waitress apologized for taking so long(it was a good thing she did, too) before leaving them to their own devices once more.

"Sweden sounds nice. I have no idea where my family comes from. So was he an immigrant or something?"

Arcane Blood - March 12, 2005 09:12 PM (GMT)
"Oh, okay." He nodded in recognition.

He looked over to the waitress and nodded, as well. "It's all right. Thank you."

"Yeah, I guess so. He left before I was born, though, so I wouldn't really know." He shrugged, and began poking at the food with a supplied fork.

Renata - March 12, 2005 09:23 PM (GMT)
Of course, she noticed the way he didn't immediately start digging into his food.

"What's wrong? I'd have thought you'd be a little more hungry than that."

It was almost strange how comfortable she was in the conversation with him; naturally becoming concerned that something might be wrong. It was the beginning of a good friendship, she hoped.

Arcane Blood - March 12, 2005 09:29 PM (GMT)
"What? Oh, huh, it's nothing." He offered her one of those smiles that was impossible to tell if it was forced or he really meant it. Rasmus, at the moment, didn't even know which it was.

He stabbed at a little piece of something, and out it in his mouth.

Renata - March 12, 2005 09:34 PM (GMT)
Well damn. What's the use of calling a bullshit that might not be a bullshit? She was normally really good at discerning those sorts of things. Damn him for not making it easy for her.

"Well hey..." she began, trying to figure out if it was going to be possible to cheer him up. If he needed cheering up in the first place.

"Maybe you just need to get out then," hoping that she had interpreted the smile correctly, "You know, cut loose, go to a movie or something."

Arcane Blood - March 12, 2005 09:41 PM (GMT)
"I dunno." He shrugged, sounding rather non-chalant, even with that sweet Swedish voice of his. "I don't really think movies are the best place to cut loose," which gave no hint whether he was slightly upset or not.

"I'd rather be away from humanity, you know?"

Renata - March 12, 2005 09:51 PM (GMT)
"Oh," was all that she said, not knowing whether he meant that he wanted to get away from her or just people. She wasn't really comfortable with being excluded even if it wasn't intentional.

"Well..." She was beginning to think that he needs to visit an elementarty school. One with a good playground. Preferably with one of those merry-go rounds. Yes. That was it.. But first they needed to stop at a convenience store...

Arcane Blood - March 12, 2005 09:59 PM (GMT)
He hadn't meant it in that way. He'd meant it in the sort of, 'two's company, three's a crowd' kind of way. "Well what?" He asked, stabbing at something that uncannily resembled broccoli. Perhaps, it was because, it was broccoli.

Renata - March 12, 2005 10:10 PM (GMT)
Broccoli. Wow. She never knew that it could be attacked in such a way. Those poor vegitables.

"Oh, well. I was thinking, if you wanted to go somewhere, we might. I dunno...Well, there's this place I go when I need to get away. It's really nice when you need a bit of quiet."

She stopped for a second, not quite sure whether or not to continue.

Arcane Blood - March 12, 2005 11:43 PM (GMT)
Indeed, poor vegetables.

"I dunno... I mean, I guess." He sank back into the chair, and began pushing around his food with his fork, without realizing he was doing it. "Um, yeah. I don't know."
