2 bright lights flying in the same direction north easterly. Flying at the same speed, and flying at what looked like the same distance for the distance they travelled. We thought at first it was an aeroplane but there were no other lights, and there was a plane flying not to far to the left of the objects. One object disappeared and then the second one disappeared in mid air. we watch for about 5 minutes before they disappeared.

Sighting 00.50hrs Wednesday August 2001 Dalmuir, Clydebank, Scotland. Whilst standing on Lennox Place with two friends an unusual light was seen. Lennox Place is an open square, bounded to the North by Dunswin Avenue, East by Swindon Street, South by Dumbarton Road ( the main E-W Road) and West by Dunn Street. Dalmuir is a built-up area and Lennox Place is the local civic square, the only buildings on the square are to the North. Three of us were having a conversation when Brian H***** (not a demonstrative man) suddenly raised his arm. I followed his gesticulation and (I believe) copied his exact words as he said, "What the *--* is that?". South to Southwest of us, a bright green light was tracking rapidly across the sky, heading west. It's colour and brightness was similar to that of a green Schermuly military flare at a distance of 50-100m, but this light was travelling horizontally with no noticeable loss of altitude (as there is when a flare is fired horizontally) and there was no glow on the streets or houses. There was no sound like a flare being fired (it would have to be close and the area was quiet, the main road usually is at night) and no sound from the object. From our line of sight it's line of flight was between 30 to 45 degrees from the horizontal. It was visible over the houses on the south side of Dumbarton Road and it's junction with French Street, disappearing over the houses between Dumbarton Road and Castle Street. It's height and distance could not be discerned. It was visible to me for about 1.5 - 2 seconds and to Brian up to 1 second longer. At the time of sighting, Brian was facing SW, I was facing WSW and Fred (Brian's brother-in-law) who was talking at the time, faced NE. Fred turned to see what had distracted us but was too late to see anything. Glasgow Airport is a couple of kilometers to the South, over the Clyde so we are used to seeing aircraft of many types. This object did not travel like an a/c, sound like an a/c, was not lit like an a/c and was not on the flight paths. Whatever it was could have been small and close up or large and distant. As there was no reflected glow I suspect the latter. I was a paratrooper with 15 PARA(SV) for 18 years, 14 of these years in the Intelligence Section. I finished up as a Colour Sergeant and acting Intelligence Officer and served full time in the IO capacity for 3 years. I've seen many military a/c, flares etc. This was not any of them.

From my home in Portobello, looking out towards the Forth Road Bridge. I saw, fairly low in the sky a very bright light source. The point of light was primarily white but shot through with red, blue pulses. These were very rapid pulses and were random. The light source was visible for about 30/40 minutes.

Event Details :
While driving back from a friends house in Hawick to Galashiels, just about halfway home you drive over the selkirk heights. The heights are about the highest point for 3-4miles and ontop is a large television mast probably about 100meters high which has 2 flashing lights, one at the top and the other about halfway down. It was a clear night with a half moon and as we approached the mast we could see the 2 lights clearly, then a friend in the back of the car noticed that the top light appeared to have gone out. As we drove up the hill towards the mast the light started flashing again and just to the left there was a dark sillouete. Our estimates are an object around 20-30meters long with a rectangular protrusion on the bottom about half the lenght of the object. As we drove towards it we could just see it against the night sky, it started to move across the road about 200meters ahead and over the trees. We stopped in the layby opposite the mast and watched it for about a minute as it traveled away from us until and finaly got too far away to see. We went back the following night but didn't see anything. Will be trying again next Friday night(26th Jan), so will keep you posted. Taking a Digital Camera and Camcorder the next time.

I was sitting at the traffic lights after leaving work and noticed an orange glowing object not that far up in the sky. It was dark outside and couldn't quite understand what I was seeing. I thought it was maybe the cabin on the end of a large crane but not there was no crane. The object was stationery in the sky......by now I thought it must be one of those blimps. I saw movement but couldn't quite make out what it was. I was going to phone my work to ask my colleagues to look out the window and tell me what they thought it was......just as I was aobut to do that it slowly started to move then just disappeared. I thought I can't tell anyone because thye will think I am barmy. It wasn;t until today that my mother phoned me and told me that her next door neighbours carer had seen the same thing 30 miles away from where I had seen it . It was apparently told in the press that it was a meteor, I have seen a few small meteors before and never one that was stationery for around 5 mins ( I missed the lights changing because I was looking at this thing int he sky). I don't know if you can explain it but I just don;t have a logical explanation for what I saw and the only thing I can think of is that maybe I had an encounter.
