Title: When does Digi update?
JayTay - July 14, 2003 11:08 PM (GMT)
It doesn't appear to be bang on midnight so I'm guessing some ungodly hour of the morning.
DIGIWORLD_RevStu - July 14, 2003 11:17 PM (GMT)
Between midnight and dawn, whenever They are not watching.
sausageandbun - July 14, 2003 11:19 PM (GMT)
by they you mean badgers right?
Mmmmm tb.
DJpubRock - July 15, 2003 12:34 AM (GMT)
Digitiser used to update at 1.10am, Digiworld apparently doesn't.
giant_frying_pan - July 15, 2003 12:40 AM (GMT)
Biffo wasn't the one that did the updating though, the Teletext staff took care of that.
I'd expect DigiWorld to update before 9am some time. I'm not really that bothered, as long as it's daily ;)

HippyJon - July 15, 2003 04:25 AM (GMT)
yeh, what kind of crazy question is that to ask on the first day?
itll probably update what ever time they get round to it
giant_frying_pan - July 15, 2003 07:45 AM (GMT)
Well Day 2 of Digiworld is underway, although I dunno when exactly it updated.
Nice one today people. Even though Wario World is great, perhaps you were a little overly-enthusiastic? And how long are you going to bash print mags for? Edge is still good, right? RIGHT?!?

Gecko - July 15, 2003 09:12 AM (GMT)
Ah, Edge. I remember them - gave Gunstar Heroes 6/10 or something.
Man alive, I was one bitter 12 year old, I can tell you.

No, not the slightest bit. (Assuming you're in fact talking about Wario Ware.) The score is based on about two months of playing.

Until they stop being so amazingly awful.

Edge is mostly the honourable exception. (Speaking personally.) Except, 7/10 for Wario Ware? Here, step under this mallet.
gadge-me-do - July 15, 2003 10:45 AM (GMT)
Wario Ware review = excellent. Well done. Hopefully Wario World (GC) will be done soon.
Ste Pickford - July 15, 2003 11:10 AM (GMT)
Wario Ware deserves all the enthusiasm it can get - as the review says, the fact that the game hasn't been sat permenantly at the top of the (GBA at least) charts shows that some heads need banging together amongst so-called 'gamers'.
giant_frying_pan - July 15, 2003 06:38 PM (GMT)
Heh I messed-up.
Normally I call the thing Made In Wario...I don't know what came over me...

What about PCGamer, a magazine that 'prides' itself on not being swayed by external pressure - would a certain Mr. Gillen be drawn to comment on this? ^_^
giant_frying_pan - July 15, 2003 07:22 PM (GMT)
I lost faith in PC Gamer after they told me Black and White was a good game.
Ah well at least I have loads of useless coverdiscs!

Don't forget that mouse ball cleaner!
giant_frying_pan - July 15, 2003 08:12 PM (GMT)
YES! I still have that!
Although I use an optical mouse so it's useless. Maybe it could be a pretend microphone, a Dredel or something else I'm too scared to mention...

I find it very effective at scaring away weasels. Just wait until they regroup and charge, and point it at them. Genius.
I have made a poem in honour of this thread.
When oh when does Digi update?
It could be early, it could be late.
People who don't sleep lie in wait,
"Please come soon or we'll get in a state!"
Tapping their fingers, making a din,
Waiting for the goodness that lies within.
But Biffo is comatose, rather akin,
To a poor homeless bum, stinking of gin.

Not nearly enough.

I used to love Amiga Power. But then I was only 8. Was it really the goodness I remember or just a big pile of PrintedTreePulpPants?

I like the subtle implication in here that implies that there's a magazine which prides itself in giving in to the slightest external pressure.

It was the goodness, "GOD", it was the goodness. And it still is.
It is also this: dead.
infinite_monkeys - July 16, 2003 01:24 AM (GMT)
Possibly_God, I suggest you nudge your browser firmly in this direction:
http://dspace.dial.pipex.com/ap2/. Hopefully you'll find that Amiga Power was this: Every bit as excellent as you remember it.
Now... Anyone out there have a nice big stack of Amiga Powers they'd like to offer me at a price which could be deemed 'reasonable'? Sirs?

Still no update at 7am
DIGIWORLD_RevStu - July 16, 2003 07:21 AM (GMT)
There were... incidents. Update is there now.
JPickford - July 16, 2003 07:42 AM (GMT)
At least you know we care.
Timofee - July 16, 2003 09:13 AM (GMT)
Amiga Power was great particularly because of two things: Gravity Power demo, and the issue where they played doom for real and hired loads of BB guns, including a minigun.

Sildrohar - July 16, 2003 09:55 AM (GMT)
Dear Sir:
I believe Alzheimer's is getting on to you: Gravity Power (and Gravity Force) were not demos, they were full games.
Thank you.
EG_mouse - July 16, 2003 11:42 AM (GMT)
Once upon a time, I sent e-mail to the Gravity Power programmer man, and we got chatty and eventually he showed me a beta of the Personal Computer version. Of it. It wasn't very good though - you couldn't even break the scenery by shooting it, which was one of the best things about Gravity Power in the first place. Cretins. If you haven't got your Amiga any more, get an emulator - it's a still lot of fun, more fun that - say - Tomb Raider: Winged Lovefist of Death.

It's a skull, it's a skull, it's a sk-sk-sk-sk-skull.
Etc.
Oh man, it's frightening how much Amiga Power drool is lodged in my face. Really. Really frightening.
EG_mouse - July 16, 2003 05:24 PM (GMT)
You've commited a mindwrong, sir. It's "It's a skull, it's a skull, it's a it's a it's a skull. It's a skull, I'm scared, it's a it's a skull."

You, sir, have just made a mockery of the 5 minutes I sat hunched at my computer with a rhyming dictionary that Jeeves kindly told me about.
Prove to me that you can do better, sir! That, I believe, is a challenge!

Ah-ha-ha! But I don't have fists, sir, merely bags of jelly taped to the end of a stick attatched to my torso. A-ha!
I notice our clergy friend hasn't come back with anything yet. No doubt he's sitting on his sofa-me-do watching The History Channel. But you, sir, will soon be history! A-ha-ha!
