Description: You've got the power...

Ok, first fifteen or so minutes of Transfomers the Movie, best fifteen minutes ever. Then it gets crap until the last ten minutes. Ok, I am drunk, sue me.
Christ I hope Newcastle beat Manure tommorow.
Goodnight.

Thats freaky, I watched this for the first time last night.
Check out the tune that acopanies the gallery on the DVD. How did they get that past the BBFC with a PG rating?
Also didn't Dirk Digler cover this track in"Boogie Nights"?

Tune? Gallery?
Which version you got?
I have the original US release which has no gallery as far as I am aware.

The only thing I remember about Transformers: the movie was that it destoyed the first video recorder in myne household.
At 6 years old you don't know about the limits of continual rewinding.

I watched this not that long ago. It's fairly decent.
There's a live-action Transformers movie in the pipeline. Yes that IS a stupid idea :|

I wouldn't worry to much my alien friend. It's just a selection of (crap/pointless)stills from the film with a terrible tune over the top.
If you want it that much it's on Play.com for aboot 8 quid.

Crap until the last ten minutes? Wrong, wrong, and thrice wrong.
Transformers is a brilliant film, all the way through. Besides, don't you miss 'Dare' if you only watch for ten minutes? Dare is probably the best song, although The Touch and the Theme challenge it.
Dare - dare to believe you can survive
You hold the future in your hand
Dare - dare to keep all of your dreams alive
It's time to take a stand
And you can win, if you dare
God, and you miss - SPOILER - Optimus' death. Superb.

Fecking numpty.
OK, reprise.
Transformers is great until Prime dies, and then crap and then great as soon as the attack on Unicron kicks off.
My timings may have been a bit off.

Funnily enough, old Oppy P gets
killed to little piecesin the Armada cartoon. (Armada, eh? Great toys, abysmal cartoon.) Oh, and Unicron shows up fairly soon, in order to promote an
expensive addition to the toy range.Despite being (or in fact because) I am a total Transformers obsessive, I really hate Transformers the Movie. Firstly, it's a blatant advert for plastic toys. Secondly, some of the most important characters in the fiction get blown away in the first part of the film, and get replaced by carbord cut-out characters with ludicrous voices. (And no, by important characters I don't mean Optimus or Starscream.) It's like if the recent X-Men film had bumped off the famous mutants like Wolverine and Magneto in the first ten minutes, and replaced them with unfamiliar non-entities.
xenomorph - August 27, 2003 04:34 PM (GMT)
I know it was a toy advert but its great until Prime dies and Megatron gets camped up.
I just hope the upcoming live action film is based on Generation 1. I can't abide anything after that.
xenomorph - August 27, 2003 04:38 PM (GMT)
Oh, by important characters I guess you mean Iron Hide, Bluestreak and company?
Oh well, at least they didn't kill Soundwave off.

Bluestreak wasn't in the film - I mean, Brawn, Ratchet, Ironhide, Prowl, scores of Decepticons.
Then again, I've never followed or liked the Transformers cartoon, so I'm not that bothered about it.
xenomorph - August 27, 2003 07:35 PM (GMT)
I meant Prowl not Bluestreak, though Bluestreaks a far more sensible name for a police officer robot.

THIS.I'd buy it if I weren't 19 :(

Prowl's a right weed. One shot in the arm - dead. Ponce.

Bah, conformity, eh? I'm older, and I don't care about buying Transformers stuff at all. (I think 19 was my peak age for Transformer-y purchases, ironically.) Don't worry about people say or think man, anyone who has a problem with another's harmless little hobby has worse problems themselves.

Must not buy shiny metal Transformers re-releases....
Must not...
