Ok, time for controversy... maybe.

Anyway I am of the opinion that a good chase involving cars, hovercrafts whatever improves films, games, books and real life no end.

So that being so, which game has your favourite chase sequence. I'll also allow chases where the protaganist is being chased by an explosion or some sort of animal.

Yes I know this is where I should state my choice but I can't think of one at the moment.

Does the Ohio trailer park mission from No One Lives Forever 2 count? Running from a tornado was quite entertaining.

Vice City's "Kill the Wife" mission can, like most Vice City missions, be either hugely entertaining or incredibly painful.

My personal favourite is the Thief 2 mission where Garrett's been double-crossed and you have to evade capture through guard-filled streets to pick up all your stuff from home, then escape the city. No match for the "Life of the Party" or bank heist missions (or even the police station) but, erm, they don't revolve around a chase.

Tomb Raider's dino chase, of course. Why don't they remake Tomb Raider for the PS2, but with better graphics, but still with the same sense of atmosphere? They should, like, totally do that.

Shenmue II had some good chases in it, like where 'you' trail that cleanliness-obsessed evil woman around a marketplace (although that's more stalking than chasing) and when 'you' chase Ren around for some reason (before he becomes 'your' best mate).

...except with decent controls, natch.
