Title: So what DO you get for your cash?
Description: cuddly
JPickford - July 14, 2003 11:51 AM (GMT)
Is there more stuff that gets revealed if I pay?
Ed-Epistaxis - July 14, 2003 11:52 AM (GMT)
Naked pics of the Rev, so I hear.
DIGIWORLD_RevStu - July 14, 2003 11:55 AM (GMT)
You have to pay to NOT get those. Nothing new is revealed for cash until the weekend, but Special Friends can read the previous days of the current week. (ie on Thursday you could look back at Monday's pages, for some reason, which cheapskate freeloading paupers will not be able to do.)
Shoes - July 14, 2003 11:56 AM (GMT)
Can you only pay with NoChex or PayPal, then?
JPickford - July 14, 2003 11:58 AM (GMT)
DOh!
I found the help page which explains everything in detail.
I just wanted to post something really.
Sounds like a good deal and you seem to have bent over backwards to make it as fair as possible. So lots of people will be wingeing as usual then.
:ph43r:
I like this smiley but I don't know what it means.
Ed-Epistaxis - July 14, 2003 11:59 AM (GMT)
What about the sultry quasi-goth stylings of Mr. Gillen?
JPickford - July 14, 2003 12:04 PM (GMT)
Woo, I now have 500p in my account and it's burning a hole in my virtual pocket.
You should have stuff to waste it on.

Yes, like gin. And ankle socks.

What about them? Mr Gillen's work is featured in Day 1, just not in the bylined sections.

Actually I've just discovered a bit of an internal misunderstanding about that. You can't currently read the "back" weekdays until the Saturday edition comes out. Hmm. We'll look into the technical issues some more.
Pikachu - July 14, 2003 01:13 PM (GMT)
I pay £4 a month for Edge and Games™ when I don't really like them much, so I'm happy to sign up. I think I'm only going to buy print mags if they've got a decent DVD or demo disk on the front from now on.
:) Pikachu
Sildrohar - July 14, 2003 01:24 PM (GMT)
I'd pay, but I'm banned from PayPal and I don't know if the other company (wossitname? Nechex? Lechex? Bah.) works with any kind of debit cards as I am Abroad.
("I thought you were a man" - F Sinatra)
Ste Pickford - July 14, 2003 01:30 PM (GMT)
Why are you banned from Paypal?
Sildrohar - July 14, 2003 01:33 PM (GMT)
I received an e-mail from them the other day saying my "credit card was no good for transactions with this company". Or something like that.
Anyway.
I don't know why.
Maybe because it is pink.
Pikachu - July 14, 2003 01:38 PM (GMT)
Oh. Have you been trying to buy porn films with names like "Bend Over Rover" and "Two Little Boys With Two Little Toys" from Amsterdam-based websites?
:) Pikachu
Sildrohar - July 14, 2003 01:40 PM (GMT)
"Bitanic" and "Piss Alice 2", ACTUALLY.
Guest - July 14, 2003 02:19 PM (GMT)
so you're using the looser, radio 1 newsbeat style, definition of banned then (ie not banned)
;)
Guest - July 14, 2003 02:26 PM (GMT)
I forgot to bring my switch card to work today.
Please dont hate me.

As the Rev says.

Hmmm. Looks like you lot are going to have to wait for your 500p until I receive my credit card statement and find out my 4 digit PayPal member number. What a load of shite. :(

No, I was talking about naked pics, Rev. Geez, what else would I be on about! You piffling manwhore, you ;)

I've never used PayPal or NoChex before. They won't empty my bank account and move to Mexico without telling me, will they?

Indeed, I have spied you in this "public" before. At least I think it was you. You were looking through comics at Forbidden Planet in Bristol, but I didn't say anything. No-siree bob.

You probably shouldn't admit to following them around in public, Ed.

Follow? Hah! That would require legs. Or maybe wheels. I like the sound of wheels, actually.
McNeillR - July 14, 2003 06:43 PM (GMT)
Right.
So we pay for the forum. Yet the forum costs Digi nothing.
I say I say. Genius. I say.

Probably was me. I've been known to frequent the place to pick up the sort of stuff the shop in Bath doesn't stock.
That is, almost everything.

Probably hopelessly poncy artstuff.
Alternatively, something with the Superfellows Adventures.

hopelessly poncy art stuff? Marvellous.
God bless Fantagraphics is what I say
giant_frying_pan - July 15, 2003 12:49 AM (GMT)
I don't care what extra stuff we get, I consider me 50p a week back payment for the ten years of joy Bifo & Co have brought me.
Although just because I feel indebted to you lot doesn't mean it's legally binding, so don't get any ideas!

sausageandbun - July 15, 2003 12:54 AM (GMT)
That's very well said.
Still. if they're offering stuff, it'd be rude to refuse right? right?
giant_frying_pan - July 15, 2003 01:18 AM (GMT)
Oh absolutly. That's the polite thing to do ;)
I can hazard a guess at the extra stuff: Ring Sirs, more Script-ohs and the like.

You know you were looking at the Tomb Raider comic. You just can't get enough of Core's sausage waste, can you?
The reason I didn't speak was this : coat. The big, leather coat you wore scared me, because with one swish I could have been covered and never seen the light of day again. And it might have had stars inside. Like Roberta Williams.

Actually, I have read the TR/Witchblade Crossover, since one copy arrived in my office when I was in Gamer. So bad that, throughout, the character was named as "Lara Croft".
This isn't impressive.
Don't worry about being swept away beneath the coat. There's no room for you under there. That's where I keep my UZIs.

That's just leaving yourself wide-open there, Rev.
I'm guessing it's a typo - you wouldn't expect that from an award winning journalist would you? Let alone the tramp Gillen.
If I had a big coat, I'd hide Roberta Williams in there, so she could set Phantasmagoria 3 in my pants. Oh, the horrors.

If only Paypal could be bypassed completely. It really looks a bit naff.
