Title: Errors on cqev
Description: uggg

ChexBoss32890 - September 9, 2003 12:40 AM (GMT)
on many levels the game will freeze and shut down, like ( im lableing the levels a special way since there is a total of 108 different levels) c2e1m1 ( chex wad. 2 episode 1 map 1 ) when entering the red door room, final room, c3e1m2, when first starting, on all the e1m6, the first little section is very jerky and slow

Some of those errors are caused because EV's extra levels are actually DooM levels. The slowness or crasheyness is because of messed up textures, missing textures, or other such assorted crap. As for the CQ3 one, That's a level editing error. I can't figure out what's wrong with it either. I've cracked it open, and all looks right, but I'm no expert. Boingo?

I noticed this also and I got it to work by messing with the compadibility. I don't remember how I did it.

Loremaster - September 9, 2003 01:44 AM (GMT)
You just run it under Windows 95 mode. But there are errors in CQ3......... grrrrrrr

froghawk - September 18, 2003 12:50 AM (GMT)
bleh, ralston was careless making their mac version - stoopid them!!!!!!!! (CQEV was a port from the mac version - at least it was supposed to be, but it was just the wad)

Loremaster - September 18, 2003 04:12 AM (GMT)
Yea, but that's cause of the DooM levels. My big bone to pick with is the CQ3 wad. There are Soooooooooo many level editing error in W95 mode!

ChexBoss32890 - September 19, 2003 06:21 PM (GMT)
ok, on cqev, level, c2e1m1, the red door causes it to shut down, same with, c-all, e2m4, i think

Chexfan, right click on the icon that starts it up, click on the compadibility tab, then somewhere you'll see a drop down list that has the different versions of Windows in it, select 95. Try it then.

how come with cqev the sounds sound like thier in a giant room? all the sound echo like in a tunel!

froghawk - September 20, 2003 07:36 PM (GMT)
hmm, I've never noticed that... I guess we're just going to have to make a tunnel level.

Loremaster - September 20, 2003 08:07 PM (GMT)
Maybe the sounds were recorded in a bad studio?

ChexBoss32890 - September 20, 2003 11:21 PM (GMT)
no its in all the level, even the begining music is echoededededededededededed.

Loremaster - September 20, 2003 11:26 PM (GMT)
I figured. The error would always happen if EVERY SOUND AND MUSIC FILE were recorded in the same bad environment.

ChexBoss32890 - September 20, 2003 11:27 PM (GMT)
its fine now. that was weird. i didint touch a thing

Loremaster - September 20, 2003 11:28 PM (GMT)
