I never thought there was, but then again, I havn't been able to get music to work on DOOM in a long time either.

Yes, there is. You can hear it when you use either a source port of the DooM engine, or if you use an old comp to run the CD version

How old does it need to be? I remember playing CQ on an upgraded 486, but the music didn't work.

Actually, to correct my previous statement, it doesn't matter what comp so much as what sound card. Generally a 6 year old card will do the trick, but not necessairly. A SoundBlaster is what I had, [and still have, alebet in a much more powerful form] and it ran the music and sound perfectly. I would advise that, rather than hunt down an old sound card, that you just use a windows-friendly source port.

Yes. A source port, like Legacy, should be able to play Chex Quest without trouble.

I also have a SoundBlaster. Do you know how I can figure out the correct settings to make the music work?

It depends on what port your card is hooked up to, and what specs the card has. I can't help you there, you just gotta do some research
