I keep seeing this particular type of signature across the internet. They're always 350x19 GIF images and are sometimes animated. They display a little information about the holder of the signature. I know Quarkz and Anonymous have them. Is there a place people go to have these made, or do people make them themselves?

We make them ourselves. I made some a while back, but I eventually decided to stick with my old sig.

A minute after I posted this topic, I looked at the filenames of these signatures, and I discover the had one thing in common with the file names: the name "userbar." I googled that and figured out more about these "userbars." There seems to be a lot of sites devoted to these. Mabey there's even a few good userbar makers out there.

There are a few userbar generators out there, but I think it's more rewarding to make things yourself.

(Plus, I doubt that there are any free ones that are any good. But then again, you can't be certain.)

Oi, I never noticed it said that in your signature... Umm, I really don't know what "Jihad This" has to do with you being conservative or that you support the war in Iraq. (Do you even know what Jihad means?) I don't know where this stands as far as board rules go, but I'm going to politely ask that you take the Jihad bit out of your signature out of respect for members here, and people who come and check this place out who might find it offensive (because this phrase is offensive to a lot of people). Since I never managed to notice it before, I'm sure it won't be too much of a problem with others actually noticing, but I think it would be best that it's edited to not include that. Cool beans?

yes i know what jihad is- and what it is usually reffered to nowadays (i make it a point to get my knowladge as straight as possible + im a history buff)

@Quarkz- No worries, you don't need to justify yourself. In fact you can edit out your comments on the subject if you feel you might get into arguments with anyone over it... (even though we have rules against using people's political beliefs against them). It's just "jihad" as it is used by the majority of people in the U.S. is not reflective of what it actually means, or what it is actually about. It's being used loosely by a bunch of extremists as an excuse to do.... stuff. So, yeah, I'm just respectfully asking that you edit out that bit as not to offend. (I know a few people who I've recommended check this place out who would be deeply offended.)
