What's with the Sim City music manny? I know 3000 had some decent jazzy tunes, but you MUST have some real music right?

Do me a favor (seriously) Go to Pandora, click "Create new station" and type in "Brand X"
Just do it.

Manny Cav - November 25, 2007 09:14 PM (GMT)
It's accidental. I doubt SimCity music composes even 5% of my collection. And I can't try Pandora radio on dial-up, and I'm sure not using the "Brand X" search parameter. :P (on a note, I think that SimCity 3000 has the best soundtrack out of any SimCity game, and I've played them all)

Versus Mode Simple Map 1-3 -- Star Fox Assault.

Replica - November 25, 2007 09:20 PM (GMT)
I'm not listening to anything right now. But my CQ# E1M6 music while i test it.

Manny Cav - November 25, 2007 09:29 PM (GMT)
Ha ha ha, I think this topic will get more popular than CHWYAB! :D It's not this popular on any other board I'm on where it appears.

The Morning Commute -- lol, SimCity 4.

Unorthodox? well, w/e its cool

Manny Cav - November 25, 2007 11:10 PM (GMT)
I went to Pandora, but instead of typing in Brand X, I searched for 5th Dimension, instead. Is this alright?

Brand X seems to be some sort of unorthodox free form jazz thing- chack it out

Epic fail.

I'm not sure if pandora doesn't work on dail-up, but I do remember it stuttering when I used it on dail-up years ago.

All of today i've transcribing/playing sections of Canon in D on my bass. If you can remove the all the dumb wedding images from your head it's a wonderful song.

Just to be doing it:

Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In (also my most favorite oldies song) -- 5th Dimension.

I love the oldies.

Loremaster - November 26, 2007 03:31 AM (GMT)
I've got Ye Olde Heavy Metal on [of course]

"Planet Caravan" by Black Sabbath [Not actually Metal though, but the rest of the album is so...]

rushnerd - November 26, 2007 05:52 AM (GMT)
I'm surprised no one did a double take when I mentioned im playing Cannon in D on a 4 string bass. Oh well, no one probably knows the song anyway.

Good taste Lore. That song is the one with Ozzy's vocals through a tremolo filter?

Loremaster - November 26, 2007 08:45 AM (GMT)
Firstly, I like Cannon D, it's a very stirring piece. I believe I have it on a 78 [pity my 78 table broke. I need to get a new one]

And no, it wasn't put through a tremolo filter. They put his voice through a Leslie Speaker, which uses the Doppler Effect.

The song has been listed as "Psychedelic Rock", but I personally would call it more of a Blues track, with a psychedelic flavour.

atariangamer - November 26, 2007 01:25 PM (GMT)
Blue - Eifel 65
(Just happened to be on the top of my shuffle playlist ^_^ )

The last three posts made me /ROFL

Thanks for correcting more lore, having spent years playing Tony Iommi guitar parts I know feel like an idiot. But your right about the sound, they all based the music upon jazz and blues roots.

Also the midi I transcribed Canon from was apparently "Canon in D in C" People are retarded. So I had to move everything up two frets, that really sucked.

Try out Brand X yet Manny?

Current: Brian Eno Works
