With the release of the latest Flemoid by the Chex Quest team's own Charles Jacobi, we need to decide on a name. There seems to be some disagreement on what the name should be, despite official evidence. Nevertheless, we need to, as a community, agree on a name. What should the name of the newest Flemoid be?

EDIT: I messed the poll up. Can someone remove the "Flemoidus Super Cycloptis," and move the official disclaimer to the "Super Cycloptis" choice?

Super Cycloptis is the best known official choice, from the name of the ZIP file Chukker provided.

Well if we called it the Chukkeous, that wouldn't exactly make sense because Mr. Jacobi made all the flemoids.

Call it the Flemoidus Caco-Cycloptis or something. Caco is some kind of Latin word or something that means "ugly" or "bad" or something along those lines.

The poll's messed up, anyway, so we could just use this as a general discussion thread to reach a consensus.

I'm personally in favor of Chukker's default name of 'Super Cycloptis.' Flemoidus Cacocycloptis is the next best alternative I've heard so far, though.

The problem is Super cycloptic wasn't the defualt name. I dont like the fact that its to plain. It just doesn't fit.

thats what maximus is is a stronger version of Quadrumpas.

the name cycloptis kinda makes sense, (Flemoidus Cycloptis) and would also fit.
Chuckeous is funny and sensable, dedicating it to the creator, but doesn't fit other wise.

Whay would they do something stupid like call the Maximus the Super Quadrumpus? :rolleyes: Quad meand 4 (I think), and the Maximus doesn't have 4 arms. It wouldn't have worked there. I think Chukker's name of Super Cycloptis is perfectly alright. Chukkeus just makes no sense.

Whats so super about his eye? i mean its kinda small to.

EDIT = My second would be somthing like Podious. Becuase as Chukker said. Its a cyclopitis with an upgraded POD. It would also fit vrey well. its that kind name that fits what DC did.

Bipedicus. Becuase hes a Biped up commonus
Bipedicus in armor. hes in armor. (I dont really like this name.)
Quadrumpas. Because he has fore arms
Larva... I have no idea.
Maximus hes the maximum flemoid.
Flembrane. A Brane, like a cell membrane. Is a wallish thing.
Podious. Because hes in a pod. (We could call him somthing like. Cycloptis in stronger armor. but i dont think so.)

Kind of off topic, but have you ever wanted more variation in the flemoids rather than just a reskinned version? I mean, a Quadrumpus is exactly the same as a Bipedicus in armor. I always though Quadrumpus would be better as a mancubus replacement.

I do somewhat agree with Replica. Naming it something kinda "kitschy" would keep the flavour of the game.

I mean, let's not get all bogged down by taking this too seriously, but keeping the naming kinda fun and lighthearted with a "latinized" form of the word "Pod" sounds like a good idea.

It's funny you should say that, because that's exactly what I did in my The New Chex Quest series.

Hey naming the guy after me is flattering and all, but I would say go for something more in line with the originals. Besides I already have my picture in the game in the hidden room and my name as a cheat code, I figure that's plenty of self-promotion for one game. That's my two cents. I added the slime ball and splat to the zip file: PNG files with BAL2 projectile

I voted Flemoidus Super Cycloptis! I think the name should stay!

He wasn't named. But i think like Chukker said. we should keep it more tuned to the orignals. Super cycloptis is well is almost the same as cycloptis. I know why manny that you want it to be Super cycloptis. Its becuse of the zip name. But Chukker did say he didn't name it.

I think this poll was a mistake. We should come up with a suitable name. That way no one ends up leaving or getting Real mad at it. We should Make it up as a group. not as Vote for my idea!

Podius could be a suitable name. I like it better than Super Cycloptis, which would be my second choice.

I think Replica and I are on different wavelengths (as if that wasn't obvious already).

I think Chukkeous and Chuckeous are way to silly (no offense, Chukker) to make real Flemoid names. However, Replica may think that that's alright, in keeping with the cartoony feel of the game. However, the ZIP file was named Super Cycloptis, and I feel that that is a much more proper and better sounding name, as well as more fitting.

And, yes, this poll got messed up somewhere from point A to B. I think that we'll either have to make a new one or tally the votes manually.

I do now realize it is Quite silly now that you mention it.

We could go by some of theese, to name it the way DC named their first 7 Flemoids.
1. The pod thing
2. hovering. It does hover ;)
3. Something that fit in the manner of a Biped up. Like commonus.

We should explore theese. and new ones.

Also, I don't think that Podious is a good name. The original Cycloptis had a pod, also, but it wasn't named Podious. The new one also has a pod, just an upgraded one. Besides, Podious almost sounds as silly as Chukkeous, because I pronounce Podious as "Potty-ous" in my head, which could lead to humourous results. :D

There's nothing 'super' about being a Cycloptis. It is just a Super Cycloptis. Kind of like how a Bipedicus in Armor is a Flemoidus Bipedicus that is in armor.

I remember Boingo came up with the name Flemoidus Regurgitus a while back.

Grrr. i never liked how they named the BWA. If we name it Super cycloptis. it'll get reapitive. Cycloptis,super cycloptis, cycloptis tenicalus. We need to bend a little more. When Mob made his metalus did he call it Super BWA?

I came up with the name "Metallius" because it was a Maximus with a metallic arm. Perhaps there's a way to apply the same principle here....
