Description: my muzaks

try this mp3 remake of tiple's arbor day jam at
http://files.filefront.com/arbor+day+jam+t...;/fileinfo.htmlfor your entertainment!
Manny Cav - October 15, 2007 12:59 PM (GMT)
Wow! I'd actually like to see more Chex Quest music get MP3ized like this. Out of curiosity, did you make it, or did you just find it and upload it? If it's the latter, where can we find more?
EDIT: Yoiu're signature 404ed, atariangamer. Don't ask why I clicked it, just fix the thing! :P
Lucius Octavion - October 15, 2007 10:10 PM (GMT)
Wow! How did you make this? :)
atariangamer - October 16, 2007 12:08 PM (GMT)
@mannycav: oops! i dunno why it did that...odd...I'll find another one.
@everyone: I took the midi and loaded it into FL Studio 6 by Image-Line software, copied the piano rolls, and fed the rolls through computer generated synthisysers. I recorded an mp3, and posted it. (Yes, this is my work. I have many more on the way. ^_^ )

No, I mean that the link is invalid. You need to change the URLs from "http://www.geocities.com/princess_star2010/sonic_quiz.html" to "http://www.geocities.com/princess_star2010/sonicquiz1.html".
Lucius Octavion - October 16, 2007 07:20 PM (GMT)
I'd like to hear a mp3 version of the sewer. That and the intermission music.
atariangamer - October 18, 2007 12:18 PM (GMT)
^_^ Sewer? E2M4? sure thing! I'll get it posted on friday. Intermission? Red Flag pops up. The really cool slides in the horns throw me off. I can't imitate a pitch bend very well...I'll try. Well, I spread my midi collection and have:
wolfenstein 'Wonder'
http://files.filefront.com/wolf3dwondermp3...;/fileinfo.htmlDoom E1M1
http://files.filefront.com/e1m1+entrywaymp...;/fileinfo.htmlStrife's (the person) 'Trouble in the City'
http://files.filefront.com/troubleinthecit...;/fileinfo.htmlChex Quest E1M3
http://files.filefront.com/TUCQ+E1M3mp3/;8...;/fileinfo.htmlthere ya go. I'll try some more for friday.
Manny Cav - October 18, 2007 01:58 PM (GMT)
Nice! I'd like to see ALL of the Chex Quest music get this treatment! However, I'd also like to see the ends of the music not "fade out" or go blank so they could loop smoothly in a Chex Quest game. Regardless, still good.
Also, out of curiosity, how are you fdoing this, or what program are you using?
atariangamer - October 18, 2007 03:21 PM (GMT)
check my second post for how I do it.
but they shouldn't fade out
I'll try to convert all music over by the month's end
about the playing it in a game...didn't think about it, wads only play mp3 in zdoom
Manny Cav - October 18, 2007 06:12 PM (GMT)
They're not fading out, but there's some blank sound at the end of some of them that doesn't make for a complete loop.
Lucius Octavion - October 18, 2007 07:11 PM (GMT)
Sewer is e2m5, e2m4 is the city streets.
Good work. If I made a remix of e1m3 I would have made it less electronic sounding, and made that lead part a deep purple organ.

Agreed. It did seem a bit too electroniccy. I was expecting a piano (or organ) part for the lead, where instead, I just got more electronic sounds.
Lucius Octavion - October 19, 2007 12:36 AM (GMT)
I downloaded FL studio demo but I can't hear anything when I try and play a midi. What's the matter?
atariangamer - October 19, 2007 12:38 PM (GMT)
@mannycav: I think i found the problem. the renderer exports in bars, and the midi doesn't fully fill the last bar, leaving blankness. I think I fixed it as of this post.
@lucius: um...Is your Midi sound up? Click on the speaker next to the clock on your taskbar, and bring up the master volume control. Turn up the 'SW Synth' volume. IF this doesn't work, go to the FL Studio, go to Options, and mess with the midi settings. If this doesn't work...I'd check the instructions...
@both of you: I kind of like the electirc sounding instruments, but if you like, I'll make a full remix pack with the most realistic sounding synths I have
@nobody in particular: MORE MP3's!!!

Chexmix by tiple: WARNING-not finished
http://files.filefront.com/tiple+chexmixmp...;/fileinfo.htmlI didn't finish this one because:
1. I couldn't find enough drum samples to make the intro.
2. The guitar's in the end SOUND HORRIBLE together.
3. I didn't listen fully to the song. Its the chex intro crossed
with 'Bites the dust' (even though I like both songs, they don't
mix well for me, even though it sounds great.)

http://files.filefront.com/TUCQ+E2M3mp3/;8...;/fileinfo.htmlOkay, before you post saying the opening synth with the slide is
broken, read the above posts. I can't get slides to work right. THe

Lucius Octavion - October 19, 2007 07:26 PM (GMT)
I turned the sw synth volume up and it didn't do anything. I don't know what midi settings to mess with. I tried doing some stuff but I cant get it to work

Oftentimes another program will cause windows to change the volume of a Synth set. I had that problem with my home computer, took me forever to fix. You REALLY just have to play around with it hardcore for a few hours.

If I play a MIDI in Windows Media Player, then close it out or select a non-MIDI file type, it will send the SW Synth (which is basically the MIDI volume) down to zero, and to get it back up, I either have to play another MIDI file in Windows Media Player (which leads to a loop) or go to "Master Volume" to fix it there.
Manny Cav - October 21, 2007 03:07 AM (GMT)
Sorry 'bout the double post, but there are a few things I want to say about atariangamer's music.
First of all, good job! I overall really liked everything. I especially liked the album art and the custom titles. You really need to do those more. ;)
Now, on to the criticisms.
I couldn't agree more. There seemed to be random instruments and/or noises coming out of nowhere.

Is there a chance you could make a finished version, get more drum samples, or just use what you already have? I really want to here more!
I say keep 'em comin', you'll really doin' good, overall! :)

If you want help artarigamer I can help...
Just PM me... I have a program that converts MIDI to MP3...
and
here it is! All the CQ 1 & 2 Music Files...
atariangamer - October 22, 2007 12:28 PM (GMT)
@dvader:
*screetches to a halt*
huh? What is this? Is this direct conversion? Or just an audio recording of a midi.
whats the program's name?
@lucius: Umm...try going to the options menu then look for the button that says midi settings. fool with these. To actualy make sound, make sure the volume is up on master volume and wave, then make a new project, go to the chanels menu, click new, and select 'fl slayer' or some thing. then type something and some sound should come forth...not midi, but pure oscilated synth.
@rushnerd: why thanks! ^_^ I think...yeah, i'm pretty sure that was a compliment
@ manny cav:  the album cover and titles showed!!!*gasp* You wern't suposed to see those! Yet...
and on the "criticizms", yeah. digital banjo was my first full one, and I didn't chose the best synths to make it work. The drum samples I chose came from a bad set.
Chex Mix...Shows the limits of my work. Can't do very complex drum solos, guitars make a mess of sound together, and strings(the back synth or strings section) are so hard to make hearable, be cause the difrense on the hardness is drastic in fl studio.
@everyone: thanks for the comments. I will try to make a more realistic sounding set of mp3s later, for now I am pursuing a project that started way before chex quest ment something to me...SONIC X-TREME...but I will post in here often with updates...
Dvader0086 - October 22, 2007 12:50 PM (GMT)
winamp... and it coverts it to a wav or mp3...
Check out my work you might be a little surprised what you can do with winamp...
You can get winamp
here...
and the how to's are
here...
just a few tips with winamp: don't set it to associate with all file types... If you do thins you won't be able to listen to your music because it converts instead of playing sound...
Also: The how to shows you how to make it a wav... Instead to make it an mp3 choose "MPEG audio layer 3" then you can set the speed on how fast you want it recorded... the higher you are the faster the music will go...
P.S. Atariangamer: Can I use some of your music in my WAD for CQROTQ?

We're looking for remixes here. And while they were converted to MP3 (which may be useful somewhere down the road), they were also more high-pitched than the original.
atariangamer - October 24, 2007 12:10 PM (GMT)
All right, here's my progress on the 'most realistic' mp3s I can make.
E1M1: 100%
E1M2: 10% (hiting slide problems. Load a midi viewer and check out the drums)
E1M3: 0%
E1M4: 0%
E1M5: 0%
I'll edit the post with updates. Sorry, but I deleted the other MP3s I had with me. :(
but I have backups! ^_^
Manny Cav - October 27, 2007 02:54 AM (GMT)
Do you know what these MP3s remind me of? Chex Trek. Don't ask why, they just do. Mabey it's the futuristic, spacey feel.
And was sending your Admiral remix to Strife a serious request? I'm not beyond fulfilling such requests....
atariangamer - October 27, 2007 08:55 PM (GMT)
Manny cav, YES! IF you could. I really think he might like it... Any way, I have done a lot of work, but have made no progress on the e1m2. The drums pitch like crazy, and I have no way of copying the pitch traks. (the values for the pitch knob is stored in the channel. So if Loremaster, Lucius, Manny Cav, or ANYONE can help me on this, please! Or, could someone post a wav of the recorded drums. Like recording the midi on a tape recorder, then re-recording it into a software, then posting the file). Please?
Lucius Octavion - October 28, 2007 02:44 AM (GMT)
I could try to put it into noteworthy but whenever I try to do chex quest music it never syncs correctly.
Manny Cav - October 28, 2007 02:54 AM (GMT)
I sent Strife a nice email, courtesy of the Strife's Mission Objectives Topic. Hopefully, he'll notice it, or I actually sent it to the correct address in the first place.
atariangamer - October 29, 2007 12:14 PM (GMT)
@Manny cav: Thanks! I was wondering if xbolt was kidding when he told someone the strife mission objectives was a hevily encrypted file containing steps to bring strife back to the forums...I guess he wasn't!
@Lucius: Never mind, I found the right way.
@Everyone: In a few days, I'll post all of Episode One's mp3s! ^_^ I found a really cool effect, so when the song starts, It sounds like an old speaker set, when the other instruments come in it clears. It sounds cool, trust me.
For your entertainment, here is a song I found on a MIDI site:
http://files.filefront.com/All+Star+smashm...;/fileinfo.html
Lucius Octavion - October 29, 2007 07:59 PM (GMT)
I know a lot of songs that use a similar effect. Symphony X did it in Of Sins and Shadows.
I still can't get the program to work for me though. I can't hear any midi. Oh well. I'll keep trying I guess.

He's still alive, apparently. :D
atariangamer - October 30, 2007 12:11 PM (GMT)
was that strife? sweet! ^_^
I can't believe that worked!
Hey, what's his e-mail? Maybe I could send to him directly...
Anyway, I have finished the First Episode of TUCQ MP3s. Should I load them up individualy, or in a single zip (10,000 kbs)?
And Lucius, try the internet tutorials.

I thought he was trying to remix them. I don't really want MP3 versions of the originals, I want good MP3 remixes of the MIDIs.
EDIT: Also, I noticed that there is a large blank area at the end of E1M1. Not good.
atariangamer - November 7, 2007 01:19 PM (GMT)
sorry, manny cav. I can't really remix very well. If you can find good MIDI remixies, I can do that. We have an acreddidation team or somthing here at school, and I cant be on long. Chex Mix will come on Friday! (I hope...) and thanks for all the compliments :D Now, should I redo the second episode? (to redo or not...)
