I have created my verry first chex levels there are currently two levels get them here download here use them in doom builder if yyou get doom te4xtures pm and ill see if i can fix the problem please tell me if they're good bad or horible remeber these ar my first 2

I may be a bit out of line here, Anonymous, but I've noticed you've been particularly hostile towards this poor kid. What has he done to offend you? He just answered my question honestly.

And, yes, I got the WAD to work. There was some basic map design, with some HOMs (hall of mirrors). Also, I thought that Spider Mastermind (Flembrane, whatever) on the first map was a bit of overkill. I eventually figured out a strategy to defeat it and win both levels, though. That first blue key, however, was one of the strangest ways to collect a key I've ever seen! Also, I noticed a setup on the second map where you had to cross a gap walking on some Flemoids heads. I see a creative mind here that could expand in the future to create some really unique maps. Keep working at it and practicing, pikazec2012. If you keep at it, you could become like the rest of the good mappers here and beyond!

manny can you give me the locations of the hom problems and tell me how to fix them. also the blue key was a accident. originally it was sappost to be a hidden room but i went wrong somewhere and firgit something but i still found this a preaty cool thing to have. also did you find all of my hidden areas if so i will try to make them harder to find. finnaly if you play my first level on hard you will find it with even mare monsters so please try it.
To all i am currently developing a plot/ storyline for a project but i do already have a title

To give you a basic idea of what a HOM is, there's one directly above the blue key door on your first level. I believe they're mostly caused by walls that don't have textures assigned to them. I've also seen it caused by running in OpenGL mode on Doom Legacy without building the nodes to OpenGL mode. I think it can also be caused by poor map design. However, I'm not a huge expert on the subject, as I hardly do any Doom building, but there are those here more qualified than I to teach you some things. There are also some good tutorials and site out there to learn a few things (like the resources on the index page here ;) ).

You do relize your modding CQ not doom right? the last map has like 5 Syberdemons on it.
every map has a sidermastermind.
I couldn't even find the blue key on the first Map!

Couldn't you through in some elevators etc. and the maps are very short. and the keys have the colored doors right beside them on some. tell me whats the point of the keys?

The blue key is on the first map in the room with the Maximus. You just have to "run around" a little. You'll find it eventually. ;)

EDIT: I found some more in your new levels. You really need to check up on those HOMs. They're not that hard to find.

I did win all four levels without cheating -- on the easiest difficulty. But I must also ask Replica's question -- do you test your levels any before releasing them? You need to check your levels over and correct the HOMs.

yes i play all of them before releasing. an you may ask why all the flemoids on the last one. well thers enough food and chex pieces, and zorch to win it. and as for the hom's im trying to fix them just havent yet. again were is one besiddes over the water fall in #1

Aww, man. I died on the 4th level due to some ghost monsters in the main room.

There were some on the 4th level. Really, a good mapper should see and know these things before the maps are even released.

You make a picture called TITLEPIC as a lump and put it in the wad with xwe.

i fixed most of the homs, i subtracted a monster or two and i added walls on the 4th level so the cyberdemon wont shoot you through the wall Minor Stuff. if i missed the homs on level one tell me i did it but my computer messed up and i dont know if it safed

Well, in doom the Cyber demon is a boss. and the spidermastermind as well. you have one every turn! same with the baron of hell. please replace them with other enimys!

well replica ill try to redo some of them but it think it is better that way :rolleyes: if you like i can up them so there only in hard or something like that. im sorta at desingners block cant decide what will make a good 5th level

let me piont some thing out

Cyber demon = hardest boos
Spidermastermind = Boss
Baron of hell = mini boss
Hell knight = mini boss

Theese are bosses! not random enemys!

also, please fix the textures!
