Title: Teh Nintendo Topic II
Description: Why did it die??????

Replica - September 4, 2007 07:39 PM (GMT)
Strange how the first one died..... who knows why.... any way Nintendo is awsome!

rushnerd - September 4, 2007 11:24 PM (GMT)
I have no idea what your talking about, The Famicom or the first american NES model? It never died, it still enjoys a huge success from ports and remake projects.

But if you want the REAL reason mario failed...Click here.

Loremaster - September 4, 2007 11:29 PM (GMT)
I believe he is referring to our earlier topic about Nintendo [all games and systems], and not a specific system.

I found a company awhile back that actually manufactures brand new NES hardware. Kinda cool.

rushnerd - September 4, 2007 11:36 PM (GMT)
NO WAI! I wouldn't say they are failing over all at all!! Besides the Wii is a huge success right?? I just now realized that you can actually find them in store too, so I want one.

But I can't say i've always agreed with their controllers (N64)

1. The hard plastic analogue stick will give you blisters after a long mario party session so in Japan they issued gloves to use with the controller.

2.Its rumble pack, while a big step forward, took batteries...lots of death.

3. In order to use the joystick fully, you would need three hands.

All this is only rivaled by The Jaguars "Phone pad" controller, now that is true evil.

Dvader0086 - September 5, 2007 12:04 AM (GMT)
Anyway I grew up on Nintendo systems and heard many songs from their games, so I agree trekie! Nintendo is very cool... I think the wii is very cool as well as the other systems... Most of today's sega games are on there...

Whats with Mario and Sonic olimpics?????? Sonic is going to win the race. duh.

I'm the sort of Nintendo nerd myself. got a 64 when i was 3, and then a NES. to bad it was missing a wire <_< . i then got a SNES, then a gamecube..... Gameboy advance, DS, WII, and another DS so kmy brother and i could play Metriod prime hunters at night.... but i was grounded frtom it when my father found it :(

rushnerd - September 5, 2007 03:39 AM (GMT)
a 64 when you were THREE!? How old are you? I opted for the Sega Saturn at the time N64 came out. I don't really regret it either as playing nights was amazing and all the good times I had using the Saturn CD player.
I got my first Genesis when I was nine, they were still pretty new. 14 consoles later, i'm here :P

Replica - September 5, 2007 03:44 AM (GMT)
14 why?

well in 20 some days...

Kuwabara - September 5, 2007 01:22 PM (GMT)
The first Nintendo console I got (not first I played) was a N64 when I was 6-8. We had Pokemon Snap for it. If only that game would come to the VC.

Allen Walker - September 5, 2007 01:24 PM (GMT)
I grew up on SEGA, but I still enjoy Nintendo. I have the N64,NES,SNES(Emulator),and Wii. But I still enjoy those olden days of the Genesis....

  • This only occurs on the original Mario Party game.
  • This happened to me a few days ago.
  • This won't happen to you if you don't spin the control stick the wrong way!!!

Loremaster - September 5, 2007 03:07 PM (GMT)
I just wear my Airsoft gloves when I do that. ^_^

Heh, Nintendo. My first system was an N64 [I didn't get videogames until I was almost a teenager], and I still love that system. ^_^ It was the last system that had those "gotta have" games. Remember when a game would be COMPLETELY sold out? Heh, Starfox 64, Zelda Ocarina, Goldeneye...

Unfortunately, it was the system that saw the birth of "sequel-itis" How many Mario Party's are we up to now? What's next "Mario Party: Frat Row!"?

Replica - September 5, 2007 05:35 PM (GMT)
8, can nintendo Sue when Playstion 4 steals the motion sencer? and why does the play station have such horable names? PS1,
PS2, PS3, PS4 sooon do be... PS9,000 PSP.....

Let's see... Mario Party 8 is the latest release, and that number is not counting Mario Party Advance for the Game Boy Advance and the Mario Party card game.

Actually, I got two blisters on my right hand over that Mario Party thing. The one on the palm of my hand is basically turning itself into a callus the size of a LEGO-man head, but a got another one while playing on my middle finger, and I don't know how THAT happened. It's smaller, but it isn't healing up as well as the other one. I don't like doing it the "right" way because I think I do better when I do it the "wrong" way. But, what's better: My game or my well being? Is there a certain kind of glove where I could get the best of both worlds?

That was actually a rhetorical question. And besides, you answer was not exactly the one I was looking for.

Geez, all you guys got N64's when you were young, now I feel old! Back in my day we were lucky if we had any 3-D graphics, and only had a few 100 colours on screen and we LIKED it too!
Although when it did come out, many months were put into Poke'mon snap and Goldeneye.

8-Bit processing is my Leader ^_^

...that, and 16-Bit, because I loves me some scalable sprites ^_^

Don't feel old Rushnerd, feel privileged to have taken part in the original run

'course, I guarantee I have a machine older than ANYTHING most of you have [Brain Candy, Rushnerd, and Boingo are possible exceptions]. I have one of those old late 70's Pong knock-offs [a hand me down from me mum], still works too!

Also, my first computer was an old hand me down TRS-80 Model 3 [Black and White text based interface FTW!]. Man, having no onboard secondary storage [I.E., I had no Hard Drive] and using Actual Floppies was fun ^_^ Rest in Piece, beloved machine... ^_^

"Feth" the world?

My NES is still with me, and it works, but it doesn't actually play games correctly half the time. You know, blinking white screen, have to blow the cartridges out?

I think the oldest thing lying around my place like that is a Commodore 64. Sadly, it no longer functions. I would sure love to see that thing play again, though....

I got the game a couple months ago and it was Aswome!

Kuwabara - September 7, 2007 12:38 AM (GMT)
Yeah, but Majora's Mask is still the best Zelda game of all time. and besides, Navi got really annoying in OoT. It's like:

Navi:Hey! Listen! You should go to the Shadow Temple!

Bryan:But i'm in the Shadow Temple!

*1 minute later*

Navi:Hey! Listen! You should go to the Shadow Temple!

That's impossible, Zelda and the O.O.T. was at least a better game then M.M.. Why? Well for one O.O.T. was made from the ground up and used tons of original ideas. M.M. was awesome and used different concepts of gameplay, it still is a complete re-packaging of O.O.T.
It still kills me how they got away with that.

Loremaster - September 7, 2007 04:47 AM (GMT)
O.O.T's story wins, hands down. M.M. wins in difficulty. Depends which you want more.

Allen Walker - September 7, 2007 01:34 PM (GMT)
I dunno...I like the "End of the World" story going for MM.

Kuwabara - September 7, 2007 02:49 PM (GMT)
I agree. and the back stories of the other species like the deku shrub and the goron.

Replica - September 7, 2007 05:23 PM (GMT)
MM was well fun the first time you played it. but that was it, and the difficulty wasn't even that hard. OOT was more "Puzzling" and like rushnerd said. it wasn't built from ground up, what bothered me in MM was every thing was like the same. a guy runs way and you chase him threw to get a pig mask, they used alot of stuff from OoT. that always bugged me <_<

'feh' I 'feh' at Halo as a game, and a series! Don't tell me "Well it's just because you hav'nt played it" I have. It's a so-so shooter, but it fails in comparison of games like Unreal. (rant over)

Im not a halo gamer- like i said, i dont have a 360 or even and xbox, i have halo1 for teh pc (at which i pwn... hard)
halo 3 is monumental for me because i follow the plot of the halo universe, which is something amazing, and halo3 is going to answer most of the questions out there.

You guys DO realize your are in the presence of a hardcore gamer? I don't care what your stance or fraction with games/consoles is, the Halo series is a masterpiece of gaming. But at the same time i'm not like most halo players, I don't go online and play it all the time (well ever) but I know H3 will deliver and I can't wait. But personally i've been more excited about Blue Dragon. And now that it's out, i'll have to buy it. And play it on my KILLER HI-DEF FLAT PANEL WIDESCREEN!

...sorry i'm still pumped about my computer.

Halo has a kickin' story, that I'll not deny. Also the co-op is ten million kinds of fun. But multiplay....... I never did like it. Probably because there's too many morons on it. A teamkilling spree is funny ONCE. Not 17 times.

I see a "hardcore" gamer debate coming. To end it before it grows, unless someone on these on these forums says otherwise, assume they are hardcore gamers.
