Can you post a download of that program/game/whatever that Ultimate Chex Quest requires to run? I refuse to support DooM by going to that site and downloading it.

I am afraid I can't put up a download for doom.wad, because that would be WAREZ.

I can tell you that there are some abandonware sites around that have DooM, in spite of the fact it is not abandonware.

I also just started a new project for creating a public domain IWAD for use with the various source ports, but I suspect it will be a long time before it is completed.


If you are talking about DooM Legacy, do not be afaraid to go there for the download. DooM Legacy is independant of id. Legacy already supports DooM, DooM II, and Heretic, with Hexen support on the way, and, thanks to my new work on Chex Quest, one of the developers has even started work on support for Chex Quest too!

There is a PD IWAD, called FreeDooM. You may be able to use that, although FreeDooM is rather lousy. That is why I recently started The People's DooM. The People's DooM is barely started, and not useful for anything yet.
