I was wondering who has seen the REAL chexquest.com. I have a picture of what it looked like but it's so tiny you can't see anything. Does anyone have an archive?

chexquest.com still exists, but it no longer has anything to do with Chex Quest.

It is now home to General Mills' You Rule School website, and has a bunch of flash games related to various General Mills cereals, such as Cookie Crisp and Lucky Charms.

Chex Quest was a promotion that ended 8 years ago, so you can't blame them for reusing the site for something else.

I guess we will just have to make do with making our own sites. :D

I do not mean to offend you, but the original You Rule School website was www.youruleschool.com (and it still is). I remember seeing the URL on cereal boxes when it first went up.

It doesn't make sense to type in chexquest.com and end up at You Rule School. It sounds like a advertising strategy I learned in school: they offer one product but actually give you an inferior one. I think they should have just deleted the chexquest.com site.

I guess that is like what a bunch of porn site operators are doing now.

They wait for a popular website to lapse in reregistering their domain name, then register it for themselves, before the real owner has a chance to correct the problem. That way, they trick users of the original site into visiting the porn site, and have all websites that used to link to the original sending their users to the porn site too!

It's not a very nice practice.

It may be possible to build a reasonable facsimilie from Richie's screenshots, if he still has them.

Anyway, I went to the CQ website several times. I got the game about a week after it came out. I WAS THERE! :lol: The website, if I remember right, wasn't that great.

Welcome to my forum LAZ MASTER. Anyway, I just remembered, I think I may have been to chexquest.com. When I was about 6 I got Chex Quest and I asked my Dad if he could show me chexquest.com. I don't remember what it looked like.

Anyway, Richie, I said I absolutely loathe and despise how they're treated during life. I said nothing of the method of death.

I am proud to say that I have indeed seen the original site. For a site in 1996, it was pretty well done. I never made any screen caps because I had no idea what those were then, but I have an almost photographic memory and I can still see the home page when I close my eyes and think hard.

Then all of a sudden I wanted to download Chex Quest 2 again a few years later in 1998, and it didn't link to www.youruleschool.com but instead the domain was registered by them, and they left a note on the home page saying that the site was no longer available.

Truthfully, the Chex Quest site is practically celebrating its 7th anniversary no longer available.

It's kinda sad, but funny. I too remember the 'Sorry, but this game ain't availible anymore' page. When I went to go get the game, and I saw that, my stomach became a black hole singularity. It was like CQ had died......... Then I too found CQmania. AFTER it's heyday though, but before this site. Back when Richie still had his old Catsoup page. ^_^
