Its Christianized form is called "Christmas", which is essentially the symbology and traditions of Yule with the Christian story of the birth of Jesus of Nazareth superimposed upon it.

i love this! i was partially aware of it before, but thanks to wikipedia now i know!

also, the "superimposed" bit makes me think that people should look at christmas and say 'this looks 'shopped. i can tell from some of the pixels and from having seen a number of 'shops in my time'. XD LAWLZ
