According to The Prophecy, a restock is unlikely. I failed to heed its warning earlier this year and ended up waiting 3 months for a Okusama wa Joshikousei shirt that never appeared. ;(

Almost as best.

"Ooishi Moon"? XD

I think I might like "第⑨話「お見舞い・レナ編」" best, though. ^^

Edit: Should I know who "尾八白様" is?
Edit2: Probably not, judging from google results not being from another series or anything. ^^

Official annoucement.

Great news. I wonder which arcs they'll cover? Hopefully Hanyuu will be there one way or another. And more Shion. <} If they do Minagoroshi it'll be pretty impressive from what I've seen of the game.

Harr! Beat you to it!

Anyway, besides my excessive excitement, I think this could be part of the existing Higurashi thread.

2007 is going to rock.

Nagasarete. Manabi Straight. (Possibly) Zero no Tsukaima 2. Higurashi 2.

How much more awesome can they pack into a year?

And no more Shion, unless it involves painful Shion DEATH. <.< >.>

I never thought I'd want more Higurashi, but hey, if they finish the answer arcs that'll be nice. And yeah, I wanna know more about Hanyuu, seeing as that I haven't played the games.

Well, as far as I know Hanyuu shows up in Minagoroshi, which is arc 7.

I also wish to see her. I also wish to see another character whom I shall not name.

And, given the PS2 version of Higurashi is expected to release in Febuary, do you think it'll include the Matsuribayashi or the 3 new arcs from the PS2?

Question:

I am about 6 or so episodes into Higurashi. I started watching it with a friend who is wholly incapable of obtaining these things by himself. However, he is not around much. Should I:

a.) Continue waiting.

b.) Say "Screw you, guy." and finish it by myself.

In fact, watching certain bits again may prove interesting.

There was an announcement about Higurashi anime part 2 having its production decided, or words to that effect; whether that means the animation of remaining arcs or something else hasn't been specified anywhere I've seen, though. It's reasonably fair to assume the former, I guess? ^^;

Well, aside from the official announcement of a second season, I haven't heard much.

What arcs it'll cover, I don't know.

Minagoroshi is a given. But whether they'll have Matsuribayashi or the Taraimawashi/Tsukiotoshi/Miotsukushi combo from the PS2 game, I dunno. Miotsukushi is, supposedly, the 'true' end and Matsuribayashi the 'good' end.

After those five possibilities, there is also Saikoroshi*, Batsukoishi, and Hirukowashi from Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Rei. Also, there are three manga only arcs: Onisarashi, Yoigoshi, and Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai Utsutsukowashi that could get animated.

Yes, there are a grand total of 17 story arcs in Higurashi no Naku Koro ni.

QUOTE (spoilers)
So, I've been thinking about stuff and I had an idea.  Perhaps Rika is the true hero/protagonist in Higurashi.  K1 comes across as the man in the eary arcs, but as things progress and we learn more about the world as a whole Rika becomes progressively more important.  And I read spoilers of Minagoroshi and Matsuribayashi that put Rika into the primary spotlight.

And everybody wants to see some Hanyuu-chan animated. あぅあぅ

Also, this world needs more drunken Rika pictures.

*This one I'd love to see animated. An alternate Higurashi world where everything in Hinamizawa is normal. And lots of delicious Rika. <3

Zeh Bhool - February 28, 2007 08:06 AM (GMT)
It's also vaguely possible that there might be new material. Manga, PC game, and PS2 versions each have unique arcs, after all, so the same happening for the anime isn't impossible?

Hmmm..... I shoulda thought of that.

I do want Minagoroshi, Matsuribayashi (for good end), Taraimawashi/Tsukiotoshi/Miotsukushi (for true end), and Saikoroshi (for psycho Rika).

ANN has been doing a "Guess the Geneon license game". The first clue was "Based on a PC game", which could be nearly anything coming out of Japan these days.

Clue 2 is, "Summer '83, it wasn't quite summer of '69, but for some, it was still the most memorable summer of their short lives."

It's rather obvious now.

They need to be less obvious. Why don't they just say, "WE GOT HIGURASHI GUYS"?

Hmm... I don't think Geneon distribute here, so I guess this'd only give me a cheaper import option? ^^;

I do kindof wonder how they'd do at dubbing it, though, since there are a number of roles that need more than one way of speaking.

Also, people watching this currently might want to grab remaining eps before the official announcement and lowered fansub availability...

I just hope this licensing doesn't affect the release of the other arcs/2nd season/whatever when it comes out.

Tony has a point; even with Fate/stay night, which was licensed by Geneon from the very start, there were fansubs. ^^

As well as Shana. And even IchiMashi. Which oddly were all Geneon, as well.
