Title: The Daily Huh
Description: Actual, unusual things that happened 2 u
Hachiko - August 31, 2004 05:49 AM (GMT)
Welcome to the Daily Huh, which is a place where you can post unusual things that happened to you today. It can't be fake, or what not, it has toi be something weird that happened that you'd like to share with us (mods, pin this, please). Keep it clean, though.
I'll start. In my Bio class, the instructor for some reason called me Bill, instead of my real first name, Jo-Ryan. The class laughed when I corrected his mistake.
Talk about an alias thrown right at you like a dodge ball.
Jan Valentine - August 31, 2004 07:05 AM (GMT)
I was writing an e-mail earlier ( Im at work, security officer at a hotel with a compy in the lobby ) and for no apparent reason this guy says "You should check out miniclips.com" I was like "........" Then he said "Its got over a hundred games and you dont have to subcribe or pay anything" so I thanked him for the tip.
So I feel like I missed somethin.
Security officer writting an e-mail = Likes to play video games at work.
Man, is that the stereotype with S/O's?
Dirk Gently - September 1, 2004 12:43 AM (GMT)
I think that's the seterotype for any person in a work environment left alone with a computer :D
Well, this was kinda weird... I went into the center of the city today, to take care of some things, and I ran into 4 (EDIT: 5, another saw me on the street, but I didn't hear her call my name, apparently) people I knew in different places, one after the other. Not all that odd, but considering the location, it seemed like a strange coincidence.
Zeh Bhool - September 3, 2004 04:03 PM (GMT)
I got a letter today.
It had a "Crimestoppers" stamp on it, and my reaction was
 "Have I done something dodgy?"
Inside was a 18th birthday card encouraging me to vote.

Hmmm. I discovered something rather amazing. Eating Bugles(cone shaped corn chips) while watching a good comedy show(Whose Line is it Anyway? for me) is not a good combonation. I nearly choked on a chip while laughing so hard. Lesson learned now. :P

Card tricks. What a laugh. You know his famous one of magically picking out the card that you were thinking of? What you don't know is how many times they've had to redo on his specials. (1 correct out of a 1000 messups.) :P
Zeh Bhool - September 3, 2004 11:18 PM (GMT)
A couple of days ago the following sentance popped into my mind:
"I love the red blafta board"
...
?
Words with unknown meanings do not usually do that...

My cousin avoids eating or drinking anything while I'm around for fear of me saying something weird and killing her.
B) I've got the power.

That's like the time my brother just asked me out of the blue "Are you Dennis?"
 He's known me for a while by now.
And It's weird because my name is nothing like Dennis.
Wheeler - September 4, 2004 02:12 AM (GMT)
At work today, I noticed the customer's name on her check was "Bambi". I asked

"Were you named after the Disney movie 'Bambi'?
to which she replied (rather deadpan):
QUOTE
"Yeah, my sister's named Flower and my brother's named Thumper. What do you think of that?"
To which I replied, trying to suppress a laugh:

 A few years ago before I transferred schools, I was at the drinking fountain outside two classrooms. I started to drink. Then, I heard really loud laughing getting louder....and louder....and louder... and then a kid came rolling down the hallway laughing. he rolled into his classroom. Than, after I finished drinking, before I left, a kid came running after, saying to me, "I'm sorry, he's constipated."
True story.
EDIT: Badmouth anime dare post #4:
Spirited Away is the worst movie I've seen! [Puts it at that, really is her favorite movie]

Caveman 1, 2: Who knew?
Anyway, back to the Huhs. You know how some people call you on your cell as a prank? Welp, this one got me riled up. Actually, it's a two-part thing. On my cell, this guy would call me, and he'd ask, "Jose Luis?" I tell him he has the wrong number, and after a few days, he'd call me again, "Jose Luis?" That gets pretty annoying, but at the same time I found it amusing. A bit.
And then there's this case where someone calls my house, and asks if this is the nearest Wal-Mart. Wrong number, wrong number, wrong number. Wish we were also a Wal-Mart, though. We'd make thousands plus.

:xd:
I still get wrong-number calls on my Nextel, and I've had this number for going on three years. I had one guy get very upset that I wasn't "Rashawnda".
And today at lunch, I had a guy try to sell me cologne while I was eating, and another person ask me if I was from Ireland. Coincidentally, they were from the same group of friends.

And, when I was 2, I answered the phone when my mom was in the shower. Here's what happened:

Other Person: "Hello, this is the Super Toy Fund. Would you like to make a donation of 50 cents? It wo--"
Me:"Sorry, we don't want any." *hangs up*
