i think 5w30 is good all year... and 10w30 is good for warm weather... i dont have my manual on me but i think thats ticket... im putting in 10w30 in june or so because im crossing my fingers for a long summer :)

Just changed my oil today. I can really tell a big difference with the new oil.
VTEC is more responsive and my car doesn't idle so loud. What kind of oil
do you guys use? I use Mobil-1 10W30. And yeah has anybody tried that purple stuff?
forget wut it's called. hmm...

I just take my car to the honda dealership in steinbach every 5,000 km's or so. I think they put in 5w-20. Had never heard of that grade oil before. Who knows. Thought about running synthetic, but they say you'll still really have to change it every 5,000 km's and its like an extra 20 bucks an oil change.

i usually use 5w30 mobil-1 all year round, but because of a oil filter problem i recently i had im running some generic 10w30 from esso... my memory isnt that good and is only good for about 4 months or so.. so when i forget when i did my last oil change i just get it done then :P...

my engine sounds a lil louder (ticking wise) with this generic stuff... but maybe thats just the nature of the beast for H23s... ill probably use 10w30 mobil one when i do it late july... if its helps... even psychologically (like intakes/exhaust).. ill use it...

isn't 5w30 recommended for winter and 10w30 for summer?
thats wut i do. i think it says sumthing like that in the manual.
i'd check but i dont have one :(

i change my oil every 5,000 kms. first, i buy the filter from honda and then i bring my car to my mechanic's garage to get him to change the oil and filter. he puts in castrol 10w30 in my car. i used to use mobil 10w30 but it just got too expensive, especially when some of your oil disappears every week. ever since i switched over to regular motor oil, it doesn't disappear like synthetic.

u should also try changing your spark plug, wires, rotor, cap, and your manual transmission fluid. talk about a smooooooothhh engine.

hmm.. ive had the opposite problem... my mobil bearly goes down... but ive had to top up my non-syn twice now...

maybe ill try that.. dunno if it will help though... hopefully a fellow h23er will fill us in...

i take my car to the dealership every 4000km and they put in whatever they feel like it...

i dunno how to change oil  well...maybe i'm just too damn lazy

I do know that vtec uses more oil. that's why I chose my H23 over those no good H22
