Title: Janice or Leon??

Guest - April 26, 2005 01:45 AM (GMT)
After hearing some of the songs from A Music website, I feel that Janice sings better and her voice is more suited to singing Leon's songs than Leon himself. The English version of Yat Yin Wai Ding, (from the album Love and Promises) which is called '2004' has way better lyrics and sounds so perfect!

i enjoy janice's versions of the songs but i still prefer leon's original ones. :D

Hmmm, u sure u've heard the Leon versions... cos 2004 is not Yat Ying Wai Ding.

What? No offence to Justin who wrote the lyrics (his strength is composing), but they were quite bad! It's like he tried to write a love song and find all the words in the English language that rhyme.

same as GaV, I enjoy Janice singing but I prefer Leon version
and you know, Janice sings '2004' is Leon's 'Fireworks of 2 people'
and Janice didn't sing Yat Yin Wai Ding

Anyway, the Day & Night album was not released to compare the two, if that was the intention then Janice would've just sung over the original, not have them completely rearranged.

Can we actually compare both versions?! Janice's version is more to jazz and Leon's version is towards ballads...
Both are equally good altho I still prefer Leon's version more..maybe a bit biased!! :P

U sure 2004 is 'Yat Yin Wai Teng'? :err:

Put it this way, Janice chose these songs of all songs cos they're classics. Janice's version is good, but they're more the easy-listening type, they'll never be classics (no offence).

Btw, u're comparing the small part of the chorus from Amusic to Leon's full-vesion?

I personally think Janice's English version is very different from Leon's original version. Some of its lyrics in English are so well expressed that I feel Janice's voices have more feelings involved compared to Leon's version.

Janice's version is also unique and I think we should give the new artist some praises for doing so well.

Sorry for the confusion. 2004 is actually another version of 'the fireworks of two people'.

the originals are alway better. janice did an excellent job. when i listene to her i thought this can't be an azn girl that is singing, her english is good.

well shes half-filipina, their english is usually very good

listening to janice's album in my car at the moment, actually i'd like to hear he
cover some leon songs straight, as in the same arrangement as it would be interesting to hear the same song in a female voice

I prefer Leon...Janice's voice is the norm, nothing special really. Yat Yea King Ching is definitely Leon's song, I don't think she sounds as smooth or sexy.
