well if it's true (we'll find out in august) then i'll know if this is a reliable source of information. If it is true...then it's the best of the best o.o

until we hear from Leon, we'll belive. Remember last year, someone in that forum (leon-lai) said Leon going to have an album by august, then September, then December........If i remember rightly, that person said that in June, which is now.

i also heard at lfc, a new song will be plugged by the end of june and the 2nd will be plugged in july along with the new album! wonder what's true now?

I have really liked what Mark's done for all those artisits last year; Ronald Cheng, Edmond Leung, Alex Fong and especially Leo Koo so really eager to hear what he's done for Leon ;)

i didn't like alex fong's new stuff much...the only good song i've heard from him is "ho sum ho bo"...

i hope Mark's stuff for leon would be a little bit more to the "fresh" side though. the artists you mentioend above are pretty good, but what was on their cd's didn't bring anything new...

I'm so worried now. 18 songs wor... it's gonna be new songs + selection... :( What if he releases another one like Club Sandwich... only 4 new songs... :(

alex fong's new stuff are ok, sure nth really new but it wasnt too bad for mainstream.. heard his never walk again album?

yes that was the album i was referring to about being too plain...

oh yeh..his 'True' abum was much better, which was prob why i was disappointed with 'never walk again'

There's a difference tho. Cos for other singers I think Mark just composes songs he thinks is gonna be a hit and that he thinks suits the singer. Whereas with Leon I think Leon usually comes up with some sorta concept and Mark has to express it musically for Leon... so the stuff Mark composes for Leon will actually be more unique. And also cos Leon is more daring, so he will actually let Mark compose songs that are not mainstream. Take Leo's album for example, overall it was an okay album (yau hei gei), but it sounded like 1 big song. The songs were the same typical cantopop style... gets boring real quickly. I'm not worried abt the quality at all... just worried abt the quantity... :)

One of Albert Yeung's magazines reviewed Homework and actually said Leon + Mark doesn't work anymore... the new formula should be Mark + Miriam... I thought that was so funny... Mark's best compositions belong to Leon... hehe.

Mark writes songs for lots of people...almost all the newer people...


to be honest...writing for so many people has caused a lot of singers to have the same style...:X should stay with Leon

He's the best composer when he works with Leon... he needs inspiration from someone with heaps of ideas... hehe.

No lah... it said the only "listenable" song was track 1, and it's only good cos it's a very similar to XXX and YYY (I can't remember which 2 songs, 1 was a Miriam song).

Just wondering why they're always so positive with Miriam tho. They only ever praise EEG artists and Miriam.

And I think overall (from memory) they gave Homework 2 stars... hehe. And some other female not-so-great, not-so-popular, no-one-listens-to-her-music EEG singer got 4 stars.

well actually that's the only song which i've heard from him :P
but mark has certainly pushed the popularity of those people up. and come to think of it, if you put all their albums together it can sound really similar and sound really karaoke. i quite like leo's voice so i guess the album didn't bore me that easily :)
dunno if it's coz i listen to leon's albums so much, but seems like you can always hear the difference between the songs unlike others where you can only tell until you get to the chorus :unsure:

Nah, Leon's songs are really diff. That's the way he wants them, and that's the way they always turn out. He's more daring, always trying diff styles. GO LEON!
