Title: GREAT STAG
Description: Finished pictures.

I was saving these pics to put into the Palace Herald, but it seems that is a non event for the forseeable future. So here we go.

Not bad for a converted plastic toy, eh? There is nothing 'hippy' or 'tree huggy' about my Wood Elves, in my minds eye, their style is pseudo celtic warrior, and they are menacing (not evil) but very sinister.
This picture I was really pleased with, (with scripts super imposed) it was going to be the front page of the next issue of the Herald... never mind.

I quite like it. The noble doesn't look anything special in terms of posing, but it could just be me. The paint job is quite nice and I much prefer that model of a stag to the GW one. Good job!

Awesome, Burp...
Knowing your skill, I didn't expect anything less than that.

There is no doubt that it is well painted: the detail on the reins / barding really stands out well. The whole colour scheme really matches the background you put him on (for the herald cover).
However, I think it's too dark. There is very little brightness on the actual model: there's just too many neutral colours. But then again, maybe I just like green wood elves ;)

I think the model looks just absolutely fantastic! I actually like the dark and sinister look on that model and with that background there it fits in perfectly :). Awesome!

Is this the stag you got out of a farming set or something? It's really good. I love the colour scheme.

Yes, originally it was a toy purchased on ebay but I seriously converted it. Cut it's head off to re -adjust its pose; re-sculpted its mane; created the reins from wire, chain and paper, made a blanket and saddle from milliput; added paper pennant to the spear and elongated the fur cloak of the rider; added decapitated head and skull trophies, plus all the stuff on the base.
