Title: Army of the Coldones
Description: :)

Am thinking of collecting the Twisted Dark elves as i see the models are the best in the GW, an army i can be proud of.. So i was wondering how would one be able to go with a all Coldone Army with

small Groups of Dark Riders and several Repeater crossbows Infintry
A couple of Hydras
3 Large units of Cold ones

Would this be any good?

i dont have enough money to make armies like that ;_;

sounds cool though ;)

That's what am going for will take ages collecting it :( though am sure i will do fine .

I would go all-out cav then, dropping the crossbows and replacing them with harpies and chariots, and maybe a beastmaster on a manticore?

Good idea, never thought of that, as i said am yet to get the army book first :)

you could get lots of cold one knights, stick your nobles / highborns / sorceresses on cold ones, get RBT's for backup fire, RxB men for cover, maybe get dark riders to go in first as meat / a distraction~

My main idea for Cold one army was seriously hampered today as I scrolled into Games Workshop store and saw that they no longer do the box sets for them and it is now Blisters :( no longer collecting them

I wouldn't let that stop you- the box costed about the same as the equivelent amount of blisters anyway

Yeah, and besides, the new cold ones look cooler anyhow then the ones in boxes. Anyway, i dont know if you can have a bunch of hydras- arnt they Rare Units? Hmm. Whatever you do, make sure to get Repeater Bolt Throwers and Repeater Crossbows- a good bit of your armys strengh are in those. I should know- all 16 of my archers got massacred in three turns thanks to two Reaper Bolt Throwers.

Actually, the box costed exactly the same as equivalent blisters; GW seems very dependent on their consumers not comparing prices like that...

Tombguard321 - November 17, 2003 01:46 PM (GMT)
I just done the maths and the GW are very cheeky people indeed the prices are nearly the same but are there really that many difference between the Blisters and the box sets?

Vriishnak the Twisted - November 17, 2003 01:49 PM (GMT)
I believe there are no differences at all.

Also, did you take into account that the box contained command when figuring the price?

Maelduin ab Sardis - November 17, 2003 03:38 PM (GMT)
The boxed set is acctually worse since you get command arms for 3 models instead of lances. So, there's no point in buying lots of sets. And there isn't much price difference either...
