Title: The Pope has an iPod...
Description: iPope?

On Friday, when Pope Benedict XVI paid his first visit to Vatican Radio, he was awarded with a pleasant little surprise: a shiny new iPod. Apparently, the gift, which was of the white, 2GB Nano variety, left quite an impression on His Holiness, who is said to have replied, "Computer technology is the future." The MP3 player was preloaded with a selection of the radio's programming, along with several classical music compositions by the likes of Beethoven, Mozart, and Chopin. The station's technical staff, who chose the gift, also opted to have the back engraved with the words "To His Holiness, Benedict XVI" in Italian. Am I the only one picturing the Pope in his own silhouetted iPod commercial?

"Computer technology is the future." Roffles.

In other news, I can now say that I have a better iPod than the Pope. Hell yeah.

nice, shame about his taste though, I was thinking the pope was rather into death metal. -_-

I have like a year and a half old 20Gb iPod, best thing I ever bought, it's great being rich/ having rich parents. :)

the meak shall inherit

also, i think this is a good thing. the pope is a man. he is in fact less worthy in the eyes of good because he is rich, he claims to be more holy than anyone else, and he doesn't use his influence for good. so it is good to hear him say something like that and show that he is just a man in the year 2006, like everyone else.

Well, I was considering buying one of those iPod things... but not now :P.

Anything Ratflinger likes must be EVIL!

Not that I'm biased.

When I first heard this I experienced an interesting emontional reaction. My mind flicked a wide range of reactions and possible moods but in the end I think my opinion can be summed up succinctly enough by the expression:
Who cares?

Yes, that worked ;)

I really couldn't care less about what the Pope thinks, says, likes, dislikes, wants or doesn't want. And I suppose it's the case of most of us.

If the Lady of the Lake had an iPod, I would without a doubt buy one, but since she doesn't (as far as I know), I won't waste a penny for that.

Don't doubt iPods, my friend, they're incredibly useful little gadgets, especially when you have 4,000+ songs... That's way too many CDs for me to carry around.

Of course, any MP3 device is useful. It's all about preference. As for for the pope having an iPod? Whatever- I won't be convinced on the awesomeness (I said they're useful, not awesome) of the white box until I see the sillouette of the Lord himself dancing in one of those commercials... Or at least the Archangel Michael.

^ They had Eminem - surely that's enough?

This is hardly a big deal. It wouldn't surprise me if his holiness was a dirty old b***ard who spent 15 hours a day surfing through internet porn.

Actually, I wonder if it's possible to get internet logs from his ISP.

Gotta love that Pope-bashing...
