Title: RPG Idea
Description: I want to know if this is a good idea.

An rpg based on before the storm of chaos, in which instead of being in the side of the mortals. The player has a choice in a maraudar clan and it is based on the wars that happen through out the life and before becoming a warlord of even better.

This is the principle of the idea however the rules need a little clarifing before hand.

Let me know what you think and who would be interested in taking part or running a rpg like this?

It's an interesting idea, aye. There are a couple of problems I can see, though:

1. People know how to roleplay in the Empire, because the Empire is basically just an analogue of 17th-century Europe. Roleplaying a marauder would be more difficult, not only because there's a greater gap of time, but also because the culture is a lot more different... most people, I think it's fair to say, would see Marauders as your average "bad guys", and it's difficult to work out their motivations and personalities.

2. The idea of following a Marauder tribe through the war is interesting (Riders of the Dead did that quite well), but unfocussed. Generally, a forum-based roleplay needs a structured plot, or it falters: especially in this case, as the players would know they were going to lose the war.

Well instead of before how about after the Storm of chaos? I know that their culture is alot different then the likes of the empire.

In which the clans will march to war.

If this idea was being proposed for the Palace boards, I'd be interested. I think the leaders should somehow be bound into a cohesive force(Say by Crom or a pact with the Gods) so that you could give the story a structure, but allow times of free-reign to further their individual glory/ambitions.
