Title: **Arena of the Twins**
Description: New arena...
Arch-Seer - September 28, 2003 01:34 AM (GMT)
With my new found time, I can now restart running arenas. So here is the Arena of Twins!
Rules:
-250 point limit
-Any items found overpowered will be asked to be changed.
-No mounts with more than 1 wound.
-Tomb Kings can cast any one of their incantations per turn.
-Empire and Skaven get an extra 10 point to spend on magic(for a total of 110 points of magical items)
-Vampire Counts get an extra 20 points to spend for general use(270 point total).
-No bound spells or "nominate one enemy unit at the start of the game" items will be allowed.
-Teams will start 6in apart, and will charge in initiative order.
-Each character will be paired up with another character. These two will be a team, and will face other teams of two. The team that wins the arena will then face each other to find the arena champion. (You will pick your own teams when all entries are in.)
-Have fun!!

Aesgareth - September 29, 2003 03:08 PM (GMT)
Check the introduction: Empire characters get an extra 20 points of magic items.
Arch-Seer - September 29, 2003 07:21 PM (GMT)
Sorry, Aesgareth. Those 20 points in only for nonmagical things, like steeds and such. This does not add onto your magical item point cap. So you can spend 270 points total, but still have a 100 point magical item limit.
Aesgareth - September 29, 2003 10:10 PM (GMT)
Then how will the extra 20 points help? An elector count's base cost is 80 points, meaning that even with a steed, full plate and 100 points of magical stuff, he'll barely pass 200 points, let alone 250. And in the case of a Grandmaster, They already get a steed/armour/shield, so all that they will ever get is 260 points (basically, their full magic item allocation).
Arch-Seer - September 29, 2003 11:39 PM (GMT)
Good point... I scanned over the rules for the AoD of Rezaphua, that is where the rule came from. I will allow 10 extra points of magical items for Empire and Skaven characters instead.
Aesgareth - September 30, 2003 03:10 AM (GMT)
I changed his items to suit the changes, and made him a Grand Master (so I modified his stats too)
Aesgareth - September 30, 2003 03:13 AM (GMT)
And btw, Tombguard, your blood dragon starts with full plate armour (4+ save), instead of heavy armour like you included in your profile...
Tombguard321 - September 30, 2003 10:40 AM (GMT)
Yes i know, i placed it as Heavy armour as that is what it is basically
Arch-Seer - September 30, 2003 11:54 PM (GMT)
Well, we have 5 characters. Atleast 3 more will be needed for us to start.
Khrangar - October 1, 2003 01:34 AM (GMT)
I will join but I'm not going to create a character right now. I will edit this post with my character when I have time to create one.

Aesgareth - October 3, 2003 06:18 AM (GMT)
Regardless of who I am teamed up with, Willelm Dugenhast shall challenge Elgour the Doombull. Your bestial kind are no more fit to exist than the vile skaven. Have at thee!

Urtoog is one of the beastlords favoured by Slaanesh. Slaanesh gifted him with great horns, a magical axe, and he always watch over him. This gives Urtoog the confident to challenge anyone daring to fight him. Yet someone has to live after that duel..
Slaughters Blade 40p: Counts as a great weapon, but when the weilder wounds his opponent, roll a D6 for each wound inflicted immediately. On a 4+ the weilder heals on wound (max to their starting number of wounds).
Crown of Horns 30p: 5+ Ward save, +1 to rally.
Armour of Damnation 30p: 4+ armour save, all sucessful hits against him must be re-rolled.
Mark of Slaanesh, free: Immune to psycology (won't do anything, but he is favoured by slaanesh..)
He looks like the Beastlord with Great weapon, just exchange all undivided signs to slaanesh signs..
I personally would like to ally Elgour, that doombull! The beasts shall prevail!

This black suit of Ithilmar plate armour is highly glossed, reflecting the image of his opponents back at them. It provides amazing protection against physical attacks, and grants additional strength to the wearer, as long as he is involved in a just cause.

I would like to extend an offer of alliance to Aesgareth.
Arch-Seer - October 4, 2003 10:31 PM (GMT)
Ok, you may now form teams. I will start battles as soon as the teams are done.
Kingphesphestus - October 5, 2003 01:52 AM (GMT)

Swedishviking - October 5, 2003 12:19 PM (GMT)
Urtoog agrees on an alliance with Syrax. He is might glad to have an ally! :D
Tombguard321 - October 5, 2003 03:33 PM (GMT)
Very unusually tp say at least may the druids and Vampires unite to have glorious vampiric babies lol (team accepted
Arch-Seer - October 5, 2003 05:54 PM (GMT)
The teams are:
1. Syrma and Urtoog
2. Elgour and Vriishnak
3. Willelm and Kurdan
4. Tetris and Caleb
Round one will start ASAP.
Arch-Seer - October 6, 2003 07:15 PM (GMT)
As long as this is alright, the match ups for round one will be:
Team 1 vs. Team 2
Team 3 vs. Team 4
Aesgareth - October 6, 2003 07:27 PM (GMT)
Hmmm... Kurdan, I think that your tough dwarven constitution shall be better suited to withstand the arrows of the elf than my own. Besides, I know how much your people loathe the pointy-eared ones, and I would rather not stand between you and such prey. As for me... well, my weapon carries within it the holy power of Sigmar. Let the vampire stand before such a power if it dares!
Tombguard321 - October 6, 2003 09:53 PM (GMT)
Caleb accepts your challenge Pity Human, prepare to meet my blade.
Kingphesphestus - October 6, 2003 11:56 PM (GMT)
Fine my Hammer cares not who it crushs though it does enjoy smiting the oath brakers.
gandalf - October 7, 2003 10:51 AM (GMT)
Hmm a dwarf how predictable the little creatures are -_-
Arch-Seer - October 9, 2003 08:37 PM (GMT)
Ok here we go!
Round 1, Fight 1
Syrma and Urtoog
vs.
Elgour and Vriishnak
Syrma galloped into the arena proudly, his magical armour and blades sparkling in the light. He raised his unsheathed his sword, quickly, and smiled as the great Beastlord Urtoog trotted in. His surprising pale skin and light colored armour signified him obviuosly as a follower of Slannesh. His giant blade dripped with what seemed black blood, and his armour rattled with electricle sparks jumping from spot to spot.
Elgour entered the arena next, his four hooves shaking the ground with each step. He wore crude, black armour, but his fire-red sword more than made up for that, it's flame twisitng in the the light. Next came Vriishnak, whos twin blades blinded the two other competitiors for a moment. He, too, was lightly armoured, but the armour seemed to ceath into his body, his arms and legs now bluging with muscle. The two teams nodded at each other, then turned their attention back to the task at hand.
Syrma charged forward first, a great war cry resounding as he galloped closer to the doombull. The beast reared, the charge striking a quick blow in the shield arm of the beast. The dommbull arched his blade high, but his strike was cut short as his energy was suddenly sapped from him. He fell to the ground on his front two hooves, his blade the only thing holding him up. Syrma pulled his horse backwards a few steps, then charged the great beast again...
Vriishnak jumped at the chance of vulnarability, as Urtoog watched the fight between the doombull and his partner. Twin blades arching high and low, Vrishnak cut deep into the thighs of the beastlord. Urtoog roared in pain, and, in a deep frenzy, struck back quicker than the elf could stop. The Beastlord's great blade struck right through the elf's armour, just as if it was nothing more than air. With a great heap, the elf was forced back to the far wall, his ribs crackling under the pressure. Vriishnak caught sight of the Beastlord of trotting over to him, then was turned into total blackness as an armoured foot slammed his head into the now-bloodied wall.
Syrma was flung far as a fist puncutured the lung of his mount. He had overcharged the downed beast, and now he was defenseless as the Doombull stood up to his full height. Syrma parried strike after strike before his blade was knocked aside. The Doombull grinned, then made a quick side slash across the Templar's blind side. Without another movement, the human was on the ground, bleeding from uncountable wounds.
Urtoog watched as the Doombull knocked his ally down. He charged blindly at Elgour, who was too slow to parry the strikes. Urtoog struck hard at the doombull, slashing a giant gash across his back. He fell forward, onto Syrma, and was lodged over the various shields, and weapons that made up the two competitor's armoury. Elgour was stunned, unable to defend himself from the Beastlord. Urtoog raised his blade triumphantly, before plunging it into the back of the bull.
Victory to Syrma and Urtoog!
(Summary- This battle was very important, because future arena's are now affected. The Hellfire Sword and the Spectulam will, from now on, be banned from my arena, proving themselves both too powerful for 1v1 combat. The Hellfire sword did 5 wounds in total, 2 being saved by wards, but obviuosly not enough to save Syrma. Urtoog plowed through Vriishnak, then turned his attention to Elgour, and, as he was still in combat with Syrma, making it a 2v1. Urtoog was the real powerhouse this fight, his armour saving him from any of Elgour's blows.)
Arch-Seer - October 9, 2003 10:58 PM (GMT)
Round 1, Fight 2
Willelm and Kurdan
vs.
Tetris and Caleb
Willelm trotted into the arena, his silver armour making the light dance. Next to him, his magical mace, slung over his thigh, seemed to do the exact oppisite of his armoured body, voiding the air around it. Kurdan hobbled in next, grunting something about the "crude human magics". His armour was of a deep brown, spots of gold appearing and disappearing.
Tetris and Caleb entered the arena quickly, their blades raised together in what seemed a great friendship. The bowed to their competitors, the Count's black cloak scrapping the floor, and raised their blades in anticipation. Testris smiled, sheathed his blade, and pulled a giant bow from his back, along with one, sparkling arrow. Caleb laughed, and charged.
Caleb charged the mounted huamn first, his blade arching high, only to be turned aside then recast at the human again and again. Caleb, while the Count regained his strength, unhooked his mace, and spurred his mount forward, striking the Vampire hard, squarely on the chest. The Count was flung back a few yards, before a back flip landed him on both feet. "Come get it" the Count exclaimed.
Tetris fired his arrow quickly, and smiled when it split into many others, each one striking the dwarf and stopping his charge instantly. Tetris dropped his bow, then charged before the dwarf could regroup from suddenly finding 2 arrows petruding from his body. His blade cut high, but was suddenly defelected by some unseen force. The dwarf, engulfed in hatred, struck back quickly, clipping the elf's legs, then smashing his face in witht eh but of his axe. Th Elf fell, and Kurdan turned to watch the battle between his human ally and the Count. Unseen to him, the elf's face was slowly reforming. Tetris stood quickly, and jabbed his blade into the dwarf's back, sending him to the ground. Kurdan grunted as the blade was turned every which way. Tetris pulled the blade away, thinking the dwarf dead, but was caught dead in his tracks as the mighty axe chopped over his shoulder, sending the elf's head flying to the far wall.
Caleb charged again, this time slicing upwards, forcing a gash in the human's armour. Suddenly the mace wielder struck again, the squared head smashing the Count across the face. Caleb stumbled back, but was cut short ast eh dwarf headbutted the Count from behind, sending him into the next strike of the grissly mace. This time, the blow felled the Count, and, with the dwarf now standing on his back, he only remembered the darkness that followed.
Victory to Willelm and Kurdan!
(Summary: The Mace was very good in this match, scoring two wounds on the Count in the first round alone. Two wounds were scored on the dwarf from the Hail of Doom Arrow, but were answered back with a quick 4.)
